  1. Trading up to 3 makes a lot of sense. Hopefully the Colts jump to 1 and take “that Alabama guy” the Texans fall in love with Levis and we get Stroud at 3. AR would be the backup option…
  2. And the billionaires that built them had someone gamble big in their family to make it big. Bezos, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs all gambled big on themselves. We could play this game all day…
  3. Drafting a QB is going to be a gamble unless we have the worst record or a rare year there is a Burrow/Luck/Lawrence sitting there. Cam was a gamble, Mahomes was a gamble, Allen was a gamble. If you are confident in your staff and what they can do for that particular player you take the gamble. One first round pick isn’t going to kill our franchise. If it hits we have a chance to compete for 10 plus years.
  4. That’s the issue. The people that are freaking out over him possibly being the pick likely watched very little of his play last year. They just read the stats and freak out. AR would actually sit back and go through progressions and throw some nice 2nd/3rd option passes to some transfer junior college WR running the wrong route and dropping his pass. Florida’s offense was a poo show. The professionals are doing a much deeper dive which is why he will go in the 1st this year despite his stars.
  5. Yeah our top 2 FAs should be Bozeman, then Gesicki. Maybe a depth vet WR and defense from there. A legit TE receiving threat will help our red zone and take some pressure off DJ Moore.
  6. Not a bad strategy at all. Like sign a FA linebacker and draft pass rushers, sign a FS and draft CBs?
  7. No he was watching the Carolina Panthers Sam didn’t start until late November. That would be mainly Baker with PJ starting some. You just make up poo and present it like facts. Still waiting on us to sign Glass’s UFL coach as OC and sign Glass to a contract…
  8. Carr is the best short term option. If we are wanting to be a consistent playoff team I think drafting and developing your QB is the way to do it.
  9. Gesicki and draft one with one of our 2s
  10. If you believe a player is very coachable and you believe in your ability as a coach then I can understand looking at the guy with the highest ceiling. Stroud is my top preference still, but I get the AR hype.
  11. If Reich and co think Carr is the answer, I’ll get behind it. I prefer a rookie with our young team, but either way.
  12. It’s hard to play poker when you snort too much cocaine…
  13. Good article showing how the NFL is trending towards potential guys like Herbert, Mahomes, Jackson, Allen vs stat guys like Tua, Mac, etc... Of course Burrow had the most elite stats I've seen and is doing great in the NFL. Just shows there is not right way to scout/draft a QB.
  14. People always want to replicate what is successful in the NFL. I've seen scouts compare his TRAITS to a Josh Allen, Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts to see how he can be used successfully in the NFL based on his strengths as a prospect. Does that mean they think he will be the next whomever? I don't think so. It's more of how they can use that player what what system might work best for him. For example a Mac Jones should be used more like Kirk Cousins and Fields more like Jalen Hurts. Smart HCs can get a player and design a system to play to their strengths. I don't think anyone is expecting AR to become the next Cam Newton, but are thinking he can be used in a similar manner. Think RPOs, an extra runner in goal line or short yard package. Drawing up deep routes to keep the defense honest with his arm strength etc... I never read too much into the exact player comparisons.
  15. Make a thread about any of the top QBs and you will see similar posts. The Huddle just wants a young talented QB. It’s mostly people not wanting him mentioning Cam. I think Stroud seems to be a Huddle favorite, AR might be the best available at 9.
  16. People are on here acting like the AR like is some weird Huddle Cam crush thing? Todd McShay just mocked him to us? Many other mock drafts have him going in the top half of the first with several having us a 9 drafting him. He happens to be the 4th ranked QB by a lot of analysts and unless we trade up the 9 spot might be around that range. It’s not like people on here are just randomly loving this prospect. I think most prefer Stoud/Young over him but know that’s not realistic unless we trade up.
  17. Great attention to detail. I did lol when he bumped that huge player and told him to get out of his way! lol
  18. QB Stroud (1), Brissett (FA), Corral RB Tank Bigsby (4), Chuba, Jamal Williams (FA) TE Gesicki (FA), Tremble, Washington (2) WR DJ Moore, Woods (FA), Boutte (3), TMJ OL Icky, BC, Bozeman (FA), Corbet, Moton Draft some big school OL in rounds 5/6 for depth with Mayes.
  19. It's all situational. Lance played for a team heads and shoulders above all their competition at NDSU. AR played much tougher competition with a Florida team that just blew up after Mullens was fired not to mention battling through injuries and the OC limiting AR's running plays due to injuries and lack of depth. Switch rosters and competition and who knows how differently these two QBs would look. The good news is professional scouts and NFL staff are going to be able to make a much better judgement that we can as fans and we actually have a solid staff in place for a change to do so.
  20. AR needs a great staff with a development plan to have a chance at being successful. We might actually have that here in Carolina…
  21. My dad was a gamecocks fan. He was from Camden, SC. I always find myself low key pulling for them except when they play Auburn.
  22. Hooker’s backup? Joe Milton? He has a cannon and is huge, but damn he overthrew a lot of passes in his limited playing time. If he can work on his accuracy he might be NFL material.
