What is Darnold's record as a starter? 21-35? Isn't that what you hated on Brissett for?

It's mostly Reich's offense and now Duce Staley will have his input (especially in the running game). Cooter (makes me chuckle every time) was Pederson's passing game coordinator this past year and played a major role in developing Lawrence after Meyer screwed everything up in Jacksonville. Sounds like a good person to help develop a rookie QB when we draft one.

He has a career QB rating of 84.4 with around 61% completions. He is average but is more than capable of sitting back and being a game manager. Who do you want to start if we draft someone like Richardson or Levis who needs time? You aren't going to sign some QB with a win percentage of 75% because those aren't available, especially not for cheap.

Hurts was a much more developed passer than Richardson coming out of college. Hurts is also arguable the best QB in the NFC. I think Richardson had some questionable talent around him at Florida this year so his stats are pretty misleading, but yeah he needs a little more time as a passer. His talent however is unquestionable. If Richardson takes the next step his ceiling is through the roof. Richardson will put in the work to get better, hell just look at his 2nd half vs 1st half of the season stats. At pick 9 you are going to have to gamble a bit on a QB. I think Richardson is a gamble work taking, because if you hit it's a freaking homerun.

The Jags were all in on Lawrence and the Bengals were with Burrow. It just means Chicago has a guy they like at QB vs what the draft is offering this year. It makes sense.

No one is expecting him to be our franchise QB. Just a place holder for until our rookie is ready. It could be a game or two or it could be a year. That would be for Reich to decide whenever he thinks the rookie is ready. You aren't going to find a much better QB for that job than Brissett.

Why are you comparing him to Cam? I've heard some Josh Allen vibes with as raw as he is plus his athletic ability. Cam was a pretty solid passer right out of college. Didn't he have like 4000 passing yards his rookie year? No one is expecting that from Richardson. I threw his name out there because he will probably be the 4th QB with Young, Stroud, and Levis off the board before we pick.

None of those were first round picks?? Plus not all of the same crew will be drafting these next few years. You could also argue that Stroud is a ? as well as most QBs drafted.

I lean towards AR with all the extra picks, but there is definitely an argument to be made for Stroud. I will be happy either way.

Wanting a coach who developed Lawrence is further proof we are drafting a QB IMO.

I think most injuries happen inside the pocket. There is a correlation where franchises with running QBs don't build OL like they should because their QB can bail them out. That's what happened with Cam and is currently happening with Fields (hopefully they correct this). Cam rarely got hurt running the ball. Getting drilled in the shoulder while trying to throw the ball is a completely different hit.

That's kind of how I am thinking right now. That's what 4 starters? Yeah we would definitely need a vet too.

He is a solid backup that can win games, should be cheap, and is already familiar with Reich.

The real question is, would you prefer Richardson plus all of our picks to build talent around him or CJ Stroud minus our 2nd rounders and next 2 1st round picks (so much less help)?

Yeah but seriously if he is owed it pay him. Tepper doesn’t want to be in the business of screwing over coaches. We will eventually need to hire another one…

Levis will probably get some playing time in his rookie year. I would be surprised if he is 3rd string. I'm not sure on Darnold either as he has no ties to Reich. Several people on here have brought up Brissett from when he played for Reich with the Colts which would make sense. Richardson probably needs time to sit and learn, but if we get Brian Johnson as OC which has been rumored, he might be playing sooner than people think IMO. Johnson is already familiar with Richardson and could run a similar system Hurts is in now to help incorporate his running ability.

I don't see a HC like Reich not giving Corral a fair chance. I also don't see Fitt and the Panthers staff not drafting a high pick QB to compete with Corral. Honestly they probably sign a vet as well. As bad as it sounds the higher invested top pick will probably get more looks, but Reich won't ignore Corral like Rhule did.

The ones like Luck, Burrow, etc that are universally seen as franchise guys aren't tradeable. The worst team in the league won't let them go via trade.
