  1. The difference is with Baker you get TDs as well. Not so much with Sam…. Also a chunk of those came from his 2019 season with Kitchens, they have come a good bit down since then.
  2. Since 2018? Didn’t Winston not play for like a season and a half?? I wonder what the INT per game stat is…
  3. It kind of makes sense though. He had a good OL and strong running game where they could utilize his strong arm on PA plays. His arm also got him into some trouble forcing some throws.
  4. If we can improve AND lose Rhule I will be thrilled. We actually have some talent on our roster now and a good coach would help tremendously!
  5. This schedule is tough, but I don't know how tough it is because several of these teams have some questions. Will the Saints suck without Peyton? How good are the NIners with Lance still learning? How do the Steelers look with Mitch/Pickett? Rhule has actually had the Cardinals number for whatever reason... Falcons 2x, Seahawks, and possible Giants should be pretty bad and the Lions might still need a year or two (they were playing competitive at the end of the year though).
  6. You will have to ask Tepper than question. That depends on how much Baker was carrying the offense. If he was simply playing the role of game manager and we like what we see in Corral, we let him take over IMO. If Baker lights it up then we will have some options. Some options is a good things vs PJ/Sam/Teddy/Broken Cam.
  7. Browns - If no Watson then we should win Giants - Winnable Saints - Winnable (No Peyton) Cardinal - Winnable 49ers - Winnable (Lance's first year starting) Rams - Loss Bucs - Loss Falcons - Winnable Bengals - Loss Falcons - Winnable Ravens - Loss Broncos - Loss Seahawks - Winnable Steelers - Winnable Lions - Winnable Bucs - Loss Saints - Winnable I show 11 "winnable games" and 6 games we should lose. We obviously won't win all 11 winnable games and might upset 1 or 2 of those 6 we should lose. If all goes well we win more than we lose in the winnable games and maybe get an upset or 2. I should see us being 8-9 or 9-8 if Mayfield clicks in McAdoo's offense
  8. Because all they have to look at would be practice. Practice doesn’t always translate into actual game performances, especially with Darnold. If Baker has a lingering injury or is way rusty that’s one thing, but starting a QB who has proven he can’t start because he looks good in practice doesn’t make sense to me…
  9. Starting Sam again would be like taking back someone that has cheated on you 10 plus times, but appear to be saying the "right things" now. He can look good in practice but the league knows what he is on the field during the game.
  10. I'm just glad we can actually have a QB argument that's not PJ vs Sam!
  11. What in the hell is going on?? Fans of winning franchises know more about football?? I assure you those NE fans aren't that smart.... Not to mention you get the bandwagon fans to lower the IQ overall....
  12. That historically bad franchise was taken to the playoffs and delivered their first payoff win in forever the year before last by??? Just be happy we went from Sam Darnold and PJ Walker to Baker Mayfield and Matt Corral. It's a much better QB room now with some nice potential!
  13. Love Corral, but we took him in the 3rd so how is he a true first rounder? Also why would we add to a rookie contract? They are pretty much set on a scale... But seriously I was and am thrilled we drafted him. If he turns out to be our next franchise QB then that will be awesome!
  14. as @CRA stated the QB/OL helps a ton. Leftwitch has Brady the GOAT with a solid OL and Moore has one of the best OLs with Dak. I'm not 100% sure either is as good as advertised.
  15. Oh yeah you definitely right. You have to have a capable QB and OL in order to have any success. A good OC can hide some deficiencies, but none that big. They also need a HC that won't handcuff them and their game plan. I think we still would have sucked with Reid, but not on the same level as we did. He would have kept Cam as the guy throughout the season and actually game plan around our weaknesses with a fast paced offense and quick read passes/option reads. Probably still bottom of the league, but not as bad as the garbage with trotted on the field last year.
  16. If Corral is great (and I hope he is), sitting for a while won’t hurt him. See Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady etc. When he is ready his time will come.
  17. The good OCs can make a big difference too. Look at Kyle Shanahan with the Falcons. When he left the offense slowly dropped year after year. Andy Reid (calls his offense) brought Vick back to like and had Alex Smith in the playoffs. You are right though a great QB can make an OC look a lot better like Burrow and Herbert have done for their teams I just think they are hard to come by.
  18. Even if he is slightly below average at OC, it will be a welcomed upgrade!
  19. Teams seem to be preferring the new younger stat driven coaches/assistant coaches when it comes to offense (especially if they ever were within 3 feet of Sean McVay). He seems like a strong personality to take on as an assistant and these younger coaches probably want their own guys. His drop off as a head coach doesn’t help his case either…
  20. I’ve heard this a couple times and am curious. In what way in Baker more physically talented than Corral? His arm might be stronger, but outside if that I don’t see him outclassing Corral in athletic ability. I know Baker did this… https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/baker-mayfields-overthrown-hail-mary-is-the-longest-pass-ever-recorded-in-an-nfl-game/amp/
  21. That would be awesome! He is younger and would be much cheaper. If he turns out better then we will be set for the next year.
  22. The thing is he actually already has cut down his INTs. 2019 year was went he went in overconfident had a coaching change form Jackson for Kitchen midseason and threw 21 INTs which is waaaay to many, I get it. The following year (his last healthy year) he dropped it to 8 INTs with 26 TDs. He shouldn't have played after week 2 last year, but I get that he did. Even with a bad shoulder and injured planting foot he threw 13 INTs which was one less than his solid rookie season and way less than 2019. Even with a shitty injured 2021 season he cut down his INTs.
  23. It was like a 4th and a 7th for Tannehill. He also wasn't good at Miami. Tennessee helped him make a decent leap. Or are you talking about contract? I think the Titans overpaid for Tannehill, but that might be the price for an average QB anymore...
