Fitterer on trading out of the #6 pick
ForJimmy replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I still think Henderson has some potential, but the fact that we gave Jackson that contract shows our staff isn’t as confident. If they were they would roll with Horn and Henderson as out starting outside CBs and add some cheap vets to step in just in case. Jackson is a little streaky, but having Horn back should let him slide over the the #2 role or line up against the speedy WRs.- 107 replies

Fitterer on trading out of the #6 pick

Cross will be there and shouldn’t be taken at 6. I’ve seen him ranked in the 20s by scouts. He also would have trouble sliding over to OG if he struggles at LT giving him a higher bust potential.- 107 replies

Stroud looks great but also has some great WR talent around him. 2 first rounders and his third option looked great that last bowl game. He put up some video game numbers, but so did Fields and Haskins in that offense. Young and Stroud look good, but they have stacked teams they are playing on.- 107 replies

Hell Favre played still drunk and doped up pain pills. Addiction is a terrible, sad thing and it’s insane they are able to still compete at such a high level with all that in their system.

Lol exactly what I was thinking. Those 1st rounders though…

Oh it’s an elaborate “tank” on purpose to get Rhule fired and land the top pick to get Stroud. Why go through all of that? If that’s Tepper’s plan he should just fire Rhule now…- 107 replies

How dangerous is Willis as a runner? What makes him special?
ForJimmy replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s all about game speed. If he was recorded as the fastest in college football that says something. Running in a straight line for the 40 time doesn’t really matter. Willis can accelerate and cut very quickly, which is how he makes his runs. I have no clue what is top speed could be running in a straight line with no pads, but that’s not really as relevant as his in game speed and acceleration, right? -

The QB position is just a hard one to judge/scout. McShay has been high on Willis while others are low. I've seen him mocked from number 2 overall to not the first round. Brugler (as good as his is) liked Mitch the best in his class followed by Kizer then Watson (who questioned his downfield throws and accuracy) followed by Mahomes. He likes Mitch (compares him favorably to Dalton) and projects him at 6 and states he is "worthy" of being in the top 12... https://www.cleveland.com/dman/2017/04/nfl_draft_2017_expert_dane_bru.html With Mitch as his 1 in the top 12 where does that leave his 3 and 4 in Watson in Mahomes?? I'm not trying to hate on Brugler, but just show how hard is it to evaluate these QBs. At some point we have to draft one we are high on like the Texans did with Watson and the Chiefs did with Mahomes even if they have some issues that we believe we can correct. I'm starting to think the best case is we trade down (I know we need a trade partner first) and grab a Corral/Howell later because the drop from a Pickett to a Howell is little if any... This is of course assuming Neal and Icky aren't there at 6.

Outside opinions on the Panthers draft plans
ForJimmy replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh I’m definitely not saying it’s the right call. Our staff is bottom of the league right now. They just think they are better than they are IMO… -

When we talk about “raw” prospects with huge upside, his name is going to come up. I don’t know why you can’t grasp that. He is THE definition of a QB who had all the tools physically and was groomed into success. Do we have the tools/staff to do that with Willis? I doubt it, but that is what teams are going for when they see him. It’s a copycat league. Most franchises are confident in their staff’s ability, some confident to a fault… -
He has a good arm, but I wouldn’t relate it to Favre. Willis’s arm is stronger, Howell’s might be too. Strong’s is definitely above average, but I wouldn’t call it elite or anything.

You are right. If I were him I’d take the money too. He would be dumb not to…

Josh Allen was not. I know they aren’t similar, but his stats were worse at Wyoming… -

Interesting his name comes up. The more recent ones are Mahomes and Allen, but I agree we not the best equipped to develop/mold a young QB. -

Spicy Take!

I think it’s Cross because he wouldn’t be able to slide into OG that easily if he struggles. I get a little amount of Greg Little vibes from him with the grading well in pass protection, but needing work in run blocking.

And Watson was just found “innocent” by a jury, or not enough evidence to prosecute which is exactly what those articles you just posted are stating about sex trafficking in the Kraft case. Not enough evidence. I personally think they both are bad people, but the billionaire is fine in your eyes and was when it first happened.

Cuban seems like one of the more down to Earth billionaires.
