It all comes down to OL and Darnold.

Is Denzel Perryman the Carolina Panthers’ most underrated player?
NAS replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he can stay healthy, yes. -
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said in May that he was hopeful that the team could finalize plans for joint practices with the Colts this summer and the team announced on Tuesday that they were able to make that a reality. The two teams will practice together in Indianapolis on August 12 and 13 before they play a preseason game on August 15. The Panthers’ announcement didn’t stop there, however. After returning from Indianapolis, the Panthers will host the Ravens for practices on August 18 and 19. They will then play at Bank of America Stadium on August 21. The joint practices will be the first that the Panthers have held since hiring Matt Rhule as their head coach last year. No teams were allowed to hold joint practices and the preseason schedule was scrapped last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/06/22/panthers-to-practice-with-colts-ravens-this-summer/

Rhule see’s Brady Christensen more of a RT or OG than a LT
NAS replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Correct - they never got that type of offer -
I'll never forgive Marty for letting Harrison Butker go in favor of Gano. His stats since getting picked up by KC. He wants a new contract but Pats are cash strapped. What are the chances he gets traded and to whom? Do you think Panthers should try to get him? He was not as good last year and may not get a ton of value in the trade market. He also may expect to sign a long term contract which we may not want to commit to. I know we just drafted Horn but I wouldn't mind seeing Gilmore on the opposite side and move Jackson to the slot. Wishful thinking of course.

Sam just needs to be the best version of himself. He has the God given physical tools. If he works hard and becomes a student of the game, he will be a top 10 QB.

Speaking of the guys who call Panther games: Steve Smith, Sr.
NAS replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
He didn't really impress me on the NFL network, but I always root for him to do well. -
The only concern I have is depth, would still like to see Jeremy Chinn play linebacker in passing situations

PFF Projections for Panthers QB and his Top Receivers
NAS replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Give me 11 INTa instead and sign me up for those passing stats. That would be a playoff team. -
There's a perception in the national media that Joe Brady is an offensive guru, even if the performance is not there to back it up from 2020. I think he's the right man for the job, but he's being overrated at this point.

Take your covid threads to the tinderbox. Thx, the management

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/06/10/should-unvaccinated-players-on-covid-19-reserve-in-2021-receive-their-game-checks/ Interesting article, I think anyone that doesn't get vaccinated and ends up missing time due to COVID should not get paid this year for missed games. -

to the tinderbox you go lol -
Did you see Christensen at all?

Just Rhule playing 3D chess

I like it

I would always rather have substance than style. Lot of guys sound great but suck at the job. Glad he actually knows his stuff

Samir comes across as a bad ass, he definitely is going to get a GM role one day.
-
Right, but I'm also just talking about 'blocking' for your returner. It's useless to have a great returner if he has no seams and holes to take advantage of.
-
Everyone just lists these obvious positions, but it's the guys doing the blocking, the gunning, and the coaching that make the biggest difference.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/05/27/return-of-two-helmets-remains-possible-for-2021/ The NFL has been considering the possibility of dumping the rule that limits players to one helmet per season. That rule is unpopular for many, because it necessarily prevents teams from using throwback or alternative uniforms based on helmets with a different color than their base helmets. According to the NFL, there’s still no update on the possible return of multiple helmets for 2021. Even though the issue wasn’t raised at the ownership meetings conducted this week, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that this change, if it happens, requires no discussion or vote among ownership. The issue first emerged last year, when Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians mentioned that the Bucco Bruce throwbacks could return in Tampa for 2021. Said the league at the time in response to an inquiry sparked by Arians’ comments: “There will be no change for the 2020 season. There are ongoing discussions for a potential change for the 2021 season, but no decisions have been made.” It’s unclear when a change will need to be made in order to be implemented, if at all, for 2021. For teams like the Buccaneers or the Patriots to take advantage of the opportunity to use a white helmet with old-school uniforms, they’ll need time to get the uniforms ready to go. Speaking of the possibility for Buccaneers and the Patriots throwbacks, that’s the only thing that could make their heavily-anticipated Week Four showdown in New England more compelling. Bucs in the creamsicles, Pats in the original Pat Patriot gear.

I still think it's Atlanta and New Orleans. We'll need to finish second to prove ourselves this year

How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
NAS replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
I say it's 75% Jets, 25% on Darnold. Fitt, Rhule and Brady clearly think he's redeemable but Darnold also made unnecessary mistakes. It's what happens when you're running for your life.
