  1. Quoted you yourself and you didn't have to wait long, eh? Claiming that someone can develop NFL players is giving them credit for being NFL-level competent in that area, unless you're saying that you didn't mean to try to move the goalposts here and do actually believe that Rhule didn't have much to do with their development after all. And once again, both of the players (a whopping 2) were already on that trajectory before Rhule arrived and/or had large non-Rhule factors that they themselves cited as spurring their growth. Hell, Donte himself credits being a father with all of his maturity as opposed to being in the league: https://www.panthers.com/news/donte-jackson-learned-the-hard-way-now-he-teaches Just give it up. You have now spent several posts ducking my question about players developed solely under Rhule, instead sticking to only 2 players that very clearly don't appear to owe much to Rhule or his staff rather than giving actual examples of players that he or his staff have homegrown. Doubling down on the 'Top 5' nonsense is sad, as outside of the worthless yards per game statistic Carolina was outside of the top 10 in every other meaningful category. Perhaps this all changes this year, but until it shows on the field your claims are nonsensical.
  2. The defense is not top 5 in any actual regard, Shaq and Donte are performing as they did prior to Rhule arriving (backed up by the statistics), and you continue to fail to negate the confounding factors noted. Things like Donte maturing is pretty typical as someone goes from being a rookie to mid-career veteran and, frankly, Gilmore may have had way more impact than Rhule. Consider that in Jackson's interview about staying with Carolina, he mentioned Gilmore teaching him about being a corner (below): https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/donte-jackson-explains-why-he-gave-the-panthers-his-undivided-attention-in-free-agency In all fairness he does also mention the coaching staff in general being 'outstanding' but again, the credit to Gilmore is a confounding factor that make it a push at best; I'm not even excluding the possibility that Rhule and the staff have played a role, simply that it's impossible to know how much and therefore give the kind of credit that you're attempting to. Unfortunately, you're the one ignoring reality. You continue to ignore my question about definitive proof that Rhule is a developer based on players that haven't been coached elsewhere and/or players that have made large strides while on his team, further supporting that you have nothing concrete to stand on. We'll see what this year brings but there has been zilch the last two to indicate that Rhule is NFL caliber.
  3. Shaq also stepped into a role of being the #1 linebacker after Luke left following a very solid 2019 (which was after TD left, probably not a coincidence as his defensive snap counts went up by 60% as well), making it impossible to define how much impact Rhule has actually had and how much he was able to do just simply by that attrition alone. Donte's tackling percentages are right in line with his 2 years prior to Rhule, both good and bad, making it inconclusive at best and certainly not any kind of shining example of Rhule-specific development. This year may be more telling. With respect to improvement the team threw an entire draft at defense, 15 of a possible 25 overall picks since Rhule took over, and has signed/picked up some transient players that have had positive impact (Reddick, Jones, Douglas, Gilmore) etc that improved the unit but were solid before arriving but also some that arguably did not meet expectations (Weatherley, Bouye) and others that have definitely ailed to develop to date (Brown, Gross-Matos). Tough to point out any Rhule-specific improvement in those cases. I ask you again, can you cite any specific examples of development that can be squarely attributed to Rhule and company?
  4. I disagree that either of those guys are appreciably better, but out of curiosity what examples of development would you cite that weren't initially coached by other staffs?
  5. Shaq emerged in 2019 under Rivera and Jackson looks like the same streaky player he always has.
  6. Rhule and the Covid excuse... please. Dude was nothing short of a hack his first two years, and we'll now see what year 3 brings.
  7. Eye roll. They can yap all they want but even with all that BS and the team playing one of their worst offensive games all year it was still a 1-possession game until that second fumble. They never will but Denver should just shut their mouths and accept the gift that Rivera, Shula, and the NFL gave them.
  8. I'm not knocking the execution, but golf and football are two totally separate things. From a football perspective this clip, though shot well, is limited and missing context valuable to football fans. If that's what the team/league thinks people want and/or wants to put out, then that's disappointing.
  9. This is going to be a small gripe, but that camera angle and what it showed was just atrocious. Way more interesting to see what's actually happening instead of Darnold's face, a ball somewhere in the air, and a receiver hitting the ground. Maybe there will be more coming but the team is not doing themselves any favors with this content nonsense.
  10. Between the rust and ongoing distraction in think he comes off until he proves otherwise. No disagreement on prior performance though.
  11. Hopefully it's not more of that super-restricted approach from last year, but I fear it will be. Going the wrong direction.
  12. Not like he's wrong or is negative on the school itself. Not sure what the concern is.
  13. And he said dumb stuff here too, which is exactly the point.
  14. The merits of Rhule, or lack thereof, have been discussed ad nauseum and I'm not going to revisit that here. However, your prior comment implied that only those who twisted his words would find them negative and that's just not accurate. Regardless of his merits the dude straight up sounds like a clown at times, and there are comments here that fit right in with that perception. ...It's 1000% working, you just can't see it... ...Team lose because they don't know why they lost... ...We hired adults... It's nonsense.
  15. Good on him - not a small feat. Whatever the motivation I'm sure he just feels better, and that is definitely healthier for him.
  16. I don't hate anyone and certainly not people I've never actually met, but overt incompetence is a pet peeve of mine.
  17. There's no twisting of anything. Speaking and conveying a message is a key part of coaching and this is the nonsense that consistently comes out of Rule's mouth. When hearing it again and again and seeing what has been happened during his time here such a sentiment forms naturally, no twisting needed.
  18. Von was only the symptom. Ron and Shula are the ones that fell flat and cost the team.
  19. Rhule digs his own holes with the nonsense that he says. It's comical at times, with gems like "Most teams lose because they don’t know why they lost."
  20. I'm very anti-Rhule but no question that the offseason actually resembled an actual NFL franchise this year. Need to see it on the field at this point but it was cuts above the Erving/Elflein clown show.
  21. If they were going to do/announce anything publicly I assume it would be known by now.
