Friend of mine from Illinois is a Bears fan, and according to him Foreman is not a fit for what they want to do. He expects him to be cut.
-
Hope he stays released. No one gets hurt for the next few days, and maybe he catches on with some needy team.

I would rather just set the cash amount on fire to watch it burn for entertainment. It would be more worthwhile than a wrestling belt. -
Mayfield needs to get on to selling insurance, or cars, or managing a Walmart. Whatever it is he is meant to do, it is not playing offensive line in the NFL.
-
The knock on BOA is that it has no frills and is boring, which is pretty fair. We are living in a time where you must be constantly entertained and delighted, or it's substandard.

It depends, but I see our ceiling at 7-10

This is pretty close to what I am expecting. I think we have 6 wins. I don't have us beating the Packers, and I see us getting 3 wins out of the division, not a true split, with a sweep of the Bucs and getting swept by the Falcons. -
Whenever we have looked bad like this in the preseason, we have been bad. I'm thinking 6 wins. There is not really much to be excited about by this team at this point.
-
Well how about that? A score! There is some improvement over last week.
-
Yeah. I think expectations were getting a little lofty as well. Preseason can be a mirage. The 2004 preseason team went 4-0, and looked primed for return to the Superbowl. It didn't work out that way at all though. If we got the qb right, we will know soon, and that's the formula these days. Otherwise it's back to the lab I suppose.

Official Jets at Panthers Game Day Thread!
UnluckyforSome replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The reports out of training camp mostly painted the picture of what we are seeing today. It is a long season though and this is just preseason. Offense doesn't look like a finished product yet. Defense is competitive already, but they did allow some conversions that kept them on the field. I am starting to think we might split the games in the division, and beat up on the weak teams on the schedule. Not sure how many wins that gets us, but it's probably less than everyone is hoping. -

how important is it that we win preseason games?
UnluckyforSome replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
It really does not matter what the record ends up being for preseason. Record aside, when we have looked bad in preseason, we have been bad in the regular season. --No season-breaking injuries --Team appears competitive in all 3 phases. --No overtimes Not much else to really ask for from preseason games. -
Every training camp we start to swoon over someone that we think will be a real difference maker, a legit find, a diamond in the rough, and he ends up doing nothing. It's just how it works. Some guys, like Fasani, end up actually playing a game, but that Tampa game of his might be the worst Panthers QB performance ever, and that's saying a lot. I think it should be limited to those superstars that never got off the bench, or even made the 53 on game day.
-
As the saying goes, "Don't draft Ohio State qbs, or Penn State rbs."
-
Their defense is still good enough to keep them from having the worst record. They will be bad enough though to be within striking range of getting close enough to the top of the draft. You have to think that if the Cards do indeed have the top pick, which is reasonable, they aren't taking a qb. Or maybe they do and Murray is gone. It's a long way off no matter what, and we have no control over that mess.
-
There is serious speculation that Kyle Whoever will win the starter job there. Personally, I think they will go back and forth between both, and expect them to each get opportunities to go out and lose this season.
-
I do believe that the black jersey is the default color. White and blue versions are made available for more popular players. If you browse the team store, it becomes a little more obvious. So, my guess is, regarding Young, the manufacturing just hasn't caught up yet.

The company line is the team no longer thought it was a good use of resources to maintain an official board, especially since most other teams have ceased that as well. I am sure that devasting loss helped with the decision to pull the plug as well.
-
Here's the link to the new Falcons board. falcons.boards.net They were initially threatening to be very selective about who would be joining, in effort to run off some trolls. I think they backed off of that to some degree, but you must be a registered member to access the board now.

Teams lose because they don't know why they lose. It's all in the new presentation, "The Way of the Cornhusker," so pay attention. -
Panthers sign former pro bowl LB Deion Jones

Injuries and age have made sure he's not the same player anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if doesn't make the roster. -

Well I think I brought Seifert into the conversation to illustrate that we never talk about him anymore, because he is no longer working as a coach. The only comparison that I think is fair between the 2 is that they are both former coaches here, and were not successful. The idea of giving life to Rhule is a little off-base, especially when it's taken into account that he, not us, continues to bring his failure up, and how it's not his fault. He wants to make sure anyone listening is 100% aware of that. -

I would say we aren't giving him life. He is still working as a coach. To your point, no one really talks about Seifert anymore.
