Matt Rhule is 0-7 against coaches fired this week.

The Carolina Panthers’ once-promising season fell apart as the year progressed. They began the campaign 3-0 and had hopes of a postseason berth. Following their deflating 41-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the Panthers finished the season at 5-12. They lost 12 of their last 14 games. A lot of that can be credited to the poor quarterback play from the Panthers. The team mostly used a combination of Sam Darnold and Cam Newton under center this year. While speaking to the press after the loss to the Buccaneers, wide receiver Robby Anderson appeared to sound off against his quarterbacks. According to ESPN NFL Nation reporter David Newton, Anderson was asked if he thought the team needed a change at quarterback. He gave a straightforward answer, saying “I just want to win, win the Super Bowl, be All-Pro, and be the best I can be.” The Panthers wideout was then apparently asked if his goals could happen with the quarterbacks currently on the roster. That’s where things got a little spicy. He responded noting that he didn’t accomplish any of those goals this year. It’s hard to argue with Anderson’s comments. Both Darnold and Newton struggled for most of the season. Darnold finished the year with seven touchdown passes and 12 interceptions while Newton had four touchdowns to five interceptions, completing only 54% of his passes. Anderson, however, did not help his own cause, as he dropped a lot of passes this season and Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore was still able to put up 1,070 yards receiving and four touchdowns. It’s not known at this point who will be the starting quarterback for the Panthers next season. https://clutchpoints.com/panthers-news-qbs-cam-newton-sam-darnold-appear-to-be-thrown-under-bus-by-robby-anderson/amp/

Thoughts on Fitterer's press conference
WarPanthers89 replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
He was not gloating over him. It was typical gm fluff speech and no one committed to him being the answer -
I REALLY like Fitt. I watched the entire interview and enjoyed every second of it, he actually gives me hope along with having Dan Morgan. They should have the opportunity to select a coach once the clown gets fired next season.

2022 Draft order updates: Top 16 set
WarPanthers89 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
After two years Matt Rhule is still trying to explain what his ideal offensive identity is by saying he wants to run the ball. That clown may spend the number 6 pick on a RB -
We draft 6th overall. Let the multiple month long debate over an O linemen or QB debate begin: The 2022 draft will take place in Las Vegas on April 28-30. Here are the top 16 choices with the rest of the draft order pending the postseason: 1. Jaguars (3-14) 2. Lions (3-13-1) 3. Texans (4-13) 4. Jets (4-13) 5. Giants (4-13) 6. Panthers (5-12) 7. Giants (via 6-11 Bears) 8. Falcons (7-10) 9. Broncos (7-10) 10. Jets (via 7-10 Seahawks) 11. Washington Football Team (7-10) 12. Vikings (8-9) 13. Browns (8-9) 14. Ravens (8-9) 15. Eagles (via 9-8 Dolphins) 16. Eagles (via 9-8 Colts)

We have the worst record in the NFL since the 3-0 Start
WarPanthers89 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
“It’s an 8-8 league” I remember this quote from Tepper before we even went to a 17 game season. -
The guy just finished his second season as an NFL coach and is having to explain what his ideal offensive identity is. We are screwed.

Reminder-This is Mick Mixon's last game
WarPanthers89 replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mixon like Hurney…..capable of doing the job, but he’s not very good at it. Time to celebrate the end of this terrible season. -
He may be better than Rhule and that’s saying a lot because Brien is terrible. We are still bottom 3 in the NFL

Jimmy Clausen speaks in support of Matt Rhule on Cameo
WarPanthers89 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the greatest Cameo of all time son!!!! -
Burns should get a high 1st round pick. The Falcons got the Patriots 2nd round pick for Sanu and that guy couldn’t even play a season before falling off and he was over 30. I wouldn’t want to trade burns but put some respect on the man’s trade value.

It will never happen. No way he is worse than Elf though…

Matt Rhule Got to Hand Pick 2 QB's...Will There Be a 3rd**
WarPanthers89 replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem with meatballs is that we were constantly picking top 15 with him as GM due to the other 6 draft picks (if we were lucky to have them all) and the terrible FA signings. -
Tyler is 6’3 291 and not even in an NFL weight room yet. He will be a top 10 pick if we pick him or not. He is one of the highest rated centers to ever come out and is considered one of the safest prospects in the draft so not sure why you could say he would bust. https://www.thesportsbank.net/nfl/nfl-mock-drafts/iowa-ol-tyler-linderbaum/

I would pick Linderbaum in a heartbeat and not think twice about it. Spend the next three picks on a Guard / Tackle prospects and let Christensen stick at LT. We are then one vet guard away from being light years ahead of the talent we currently have. Center is a QB’s best friend and Linderbaum is the best center prospect to ever come out. He will be a plug and play pro bowl center for the next 12+ years. The interior of our line is the worst it has ever been in the history of our franchise and this would be the best prospect to correct it.

That should do the trick! Watch out NFC South!!
-
The thing about it is the combo….I could live with the trade because we were taking a shot and like you said, if he turned it around it would have been a steal. The combo of draft picks gone AND the option we picked up costing us 18 million makes me want to smash my head against the wall.
