  1. My ultimate dream is that lance drops to us at 8 and sits a year. We seem to be a team built to challenge teams after two more offseason/drafts to re tool all the remaining holes. This way we go into 2022 in great shape with cap after Teddy is cut, and a rookie QB wage for another 4 years, along with plenty of money to build around him. With all that being said, have you heard anything else about a Moton? Is he still asking much more than the Panthers are willing to pay? Seems like it could be a one year rental
  2. Good points but it’s a good starting point. At least this isn’t like after Hurneys first stint where we were in a deep hole when Gettleman started, and had to hear about shopping at the dollar store compared to Tiffany’s for multiple years.
  3. This year we are not bad, next year we don’t have many under contract, but our cap space goes through the roof, so we will have plenty to fill out the roster with.
  4. Lol true but he has a good starting point to work with. We do have a cap specialist working along with him, so that alone is promising over the past years of Marty “kick the can down the road but never have a winning team” Hurney.
  5. No matter what moves we make this offseason, we should be in a healthy spot this year, and GREAT shape next year. We currently sit a little above 35 million after we gained money from the Matt Paradis restructure.
  6. Moton is going nowhere, and Tackles are 100x easier to find compared to a top 5 franchise QB. I understand we have holes, but my point is that a teams success starts and ends with a franchise QB. Building a team first compared to getting a franchise QB and building a team around him is the chicken or the egg debate. At the end of the day I can name a lot more talented teams without a franchise guy who can’t make it deep into the playoffs than I can teams with franchise QBs. Watson was the exception to this last year but almost every other team with a franchise QB was in the playoffs last year....the teams without one were not.
  7. Totally agree I would not part with any of them. Shaq and three 1st absolutely. Side note I’m also excited about Moore and CMC as the future on offense. If we get a franchise QB, this could be a very exciting team for years to come
  8. I’m not a fool, I know you have to have a team around a franchise guy, but comparing the Texans to a normal team isn’t fair either. They did nothing to build around him, as a matter of fact they traded away one of the best WR in the game for peanuts along with other terrible trades. The entire organization was bad from gm, to coaches, to the people they put around Watson. He put up MVP numbers despite how horrible the team was. You plug his numbers into our offense last season and we are easily a playoff team
  9. After the 4.69 million saved with Paradis we are sitting right above 35 million in cap AFTER the dead money
  10. Your rebuild gets a snort of coke with someone like Watson. No first round draft pick will ever have the impact of a true top franchise QB. Greenbay will always compete with Rodgers. No draft pick like Shaq, Brown, Moore, even CMC will ever allow you to compete unless you have a QB that can change the game. Only then do the puzzle pieces fit in, and Rhule has shown the ability to coach up players into the system. You can’t coach up a franchise QB, but you can the pieces around him.
  11. Yes Verge did. I think we will be a major player in the Watson sweepstakes if he becomes available. Tepper seems set on getting who he wants in order to change our franchise around and give the fans some hope. We all know we are going nowhere with Teddy and we desperately need a franchise QB
  12. I think they are doing this in an attempt to get Watson or someone else. If available we have it, if not and we don’t use it we can always roll it over. It’s a low risk move that will help If we are able to get who we want
  13. The Panthers have cut several players this month, creating some cap space that they’d love to spend on Deshaun Watson. Carolina’s moves in the last week have cleared nearly $20 million in cap space, which would be enough to absorb Watson’s 2021 cap hit, and the Panthers plan to make a run at Watson if the Texans make him available in a trade, David Newton of ESPN reports. (That is an actual report, although ESPN has given it less attention than the “bold prediction” that the Panthers’ offer would be Christian McCaffrey and three first-round draft picks.) The phrasing of the report — the Panthers will make a run at Watson if the Texans make him available — is almost identical to a previous report that the Broncos will make an offer for Watson if the Texans make him available. That suggests that multiple teams are waiting around for the Texans to say Watson is on the trading block, and then they’ll pull the trigger on a big offer when and if the Texans give them the go-ahead. But if you want Watson and think you can make a credible offer for him, why wait? Why not call the Texans now and let them know you’re willing to part with a significant number of draft picks and/or players to get Watson? The worst the Texans can tell you is no. In a best-case scenario, it may begin the process of your team acquiring one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Watson wants to be traded, and the Texans are saying publicly that they won’t trade him. But there’s likely some trade package good enough that the Texans would make the move. Teams like the Broncos and Panthers appear ready to make those offers. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/
  14. We could always roll it over if not used, but I hope we use it and give Teddy a real reason to unfollow our Twitter account
  15. I wouldn’t mind a one or two year extension for him. I also wouldn’t mind letting him walk after this year so either way it’s fine. We seem to be aggressively eating dead cap last year and this year with kk so this does not hurt that bad. Between Boston and this we are sitting at around 6.6 dead cap next season for both.
  16. No way it would happen in any parallel universe possible.
  17. Who can’t wait for next season when Teddys starting for us! (Sarcasm)
  18. Does he ever post on Facebook? I see pics of every team he has played for except the Panthers posted. Profile pic is still him in a Saints uniform
  19. He must be upset once he realized he only going to get 40 million dollars total from the Panthers instead of the 60 million he planned, and that he may have to actually compete for a starting role rather than have it handed to him.
