ALERT: Panthers sign another practice squad WR

You are the official Huddle GOAT. I will ban anyone who says otherwise. -
It’s funny people get offended about what his market rate is. Burns will get top dollar from us or someone else around the league. Imagine our pass rush without Burns….it’s not going to be pretty. He plays one of the most expensive positions in the league right up with LT and QB. Don’t act like players like BB just grow in trees.

The Athletic: Insight to Brian Burns Contract
WarPanthers89 replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
You don’t let players like Brian Burns get away…..period. Some of you are valid that Burns does not have have X factor impact on every game he has played, but he easily could reach that level and has shown improvement every year he’s played. He has been apart of some really bad teams, where our offense has given us zero chance to win. Some of you are valid in saying he’s not a top 3 player yet, but he’s close, and other than QB, he is playing a role that is the hardest to find, hence the reason his position pays so well. As you can tell, we have struggled to get someone solid you can depend on, on the opposite side of Burns, and he’s still producing at an all pro level. Take a second and imagine our team playing all year without spider man……it would be a disaster for our defense. -
And Burns comes in at #2 largest cap hit. We need to go ahead and sign this man to make him, the team, the fans, and our cap room happy.

Panthers pass rusher Brian Burns is heading into the fifth and final season of his contract, and he may be getting impatient for a new deal. Burns missed practice today for reasons that head coach Frank Reich declined to explain. “It was a personal matter,” Reich said. Asked later if Burns’ absence was about his contract, Reich would neither confirm nor deny it. “I’ll just refer that to Brian,” Reich said. “It’s impossible for me to have more respect than I do for Brian. It’s his personal matter. And secondly, as a matter of policy, it’s not my role to talk about contracts, even if that’s what it was.” The Panthers see the 25-year-old Burns as a major part of their future, and they surely hope to get him signed soon. But Burns may want it done even sooner, and he may have sent a message about that today. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/brian-burns-out-of-practice-frank-reich-not-saying-if-absence-is-contract-related

Quite Possibly The Ugliest Piece of Merch Ever
WarPanthers89 replied to Killah_Ray's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it’s sexy AF, it’s almost sold out lol. If it wasn’t so expensive I’d be buying one -
Still better than @TheBigKat threads

It’s too early to tell. We will have an answer by the end of this season. BC played very well as a rookie under Rhule playing every position but what he should have. He had mixed results year 2 in a full time position and was getting better week by week last season. This year feels like a make or break season for him long term role with the team

A thread to celebrate our health……..

“no major injuries to our star core players” -
Hey everyone…..shall we take a moment to press the pause button on overreactions, take a moment to sip our beers, smell the grill firing up, look at a few mug shots for a quick giggle, and celebrate that we are about to start a new era in Panthers football history. We came out of the preseason with no major injuries to our star core players, and we have a franchise QB about to take over, after years of sitting through a horrifying carousel of terrible journeymen. To our season long health!

“Campen said he saw nothing in that game that reminded him of issues that plagued the line the first half of last season. When asked specifically about Ekwonu from last season to this one, he quickly responded, “Oh, he’s progressing. He’s fine." Asked if Ekwonu was more polished in one-on-one blocking, the veteran coach said, “He’s improved." But the first two preseason games show there’s room for a lot more improvement.” lol I trust Campens opinion over Newton in the last line

We will find out if Mingo can handle the responsibility. We aren’t winning the Super Bowl this year, so let’s keep building on the chemistry between Mingo and Young. If we were depending on Chark being healthy all season we were delusional. Time for the two second round picks to step up (Mingo and TMJ once he’s back)

Lol people are already bitching about what we paid Miles Sanders. JT ask for a trade because he wants to be one of the highest paid RB in the league with an extension, and some of you want to pay both guys now? 0 percent chance the would happen with him as a free agent at this point, much lesss trading for him.

There may time time for a discussion like this…..it’s not after 2 preseason games. Lol calm your tits and wait a couple weeks for the real action to begin, not after a practice game with no game planning, where they are trying things out. The overreactions seem to be through the roof and I can’t wait for the regular season to start.

The team looked like ass and went 1-3 in preseason Cams rookie year. First game of the season Cam lit it up. It’s preseason you dopes….We will be better than the last 4 years I can promise you that. No we are not a superbowl team, but I promise that by the end of the season we feel better about the direction of our teams future than we have felt in a very long time

This is a brand new scheme, completely overhauled offense, new coaching staff, and many new vet players and rookies playing together in a practice game. Calm down people. You are delusional if you believe we dominate the preseason. This is the time to get the sh*t out of the way. I would bet we look better come regular season. We’re not a Super Bowl team, but I promise you see better results than what we have been use to over the last 4 years come the end of the season. Cams first preseason he looked horrible then killed it in the first regular season game.

Lol you people are absolutely miserable. This is a practice game.

Chris Fowler's Notes from Panthers Training Camp
WarPanthers89 replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah Burns is not giving any discount, and he’s tired of losing. We need to pay the man and build around him. We have a lot of young talent coming up for contract renewals, and need to lock up the ones who are worth it to pay while Young is locked up. Burns starts the wave of contracts on defense, and is one we know is worth it. Give him his biggest pay early in the contract while still on Young’s rookie deal. You refused the 2 first rounds picks for a reason….this the reason. Pay the man, make him happy, and let’s move on. Great reading though, I am happy about the rest
