  1. The ol’ play-not-to lose conservative approach. Gotta love it!
  2. We may not have a choice if we somehow win the division and make the playoffs. We’ll definitely play our way out of a top ten pick which puts a top QB beyond our reach. Don’t know about a 6 year deal though…YIKES!
  3. Missed opportunity to salt this away with that last drive. Wasted a terrific catch by DJ Moore by calling it safe yet again. Glad we tacked on 3 more though.
  4. I’m hoping we look at other candidates as well. As someone posted earlier, some of these offensive “gurus” turn out to be not so good leaders of men, which is a more important qualification for a HC. I’m hoping Tepper, Fitt and co. will cast a wide net in their search. I’m curious to see for example what a Frank Reich (experience), Ben Johnson or Demeco Ryans (young up and coming playcallers) would bring to the table if considered.
  5. What you’ve described here is the difference between a coach that game plans to win vs one that game plans not to lose. Much respect to Wilks but he’s more in the mold of a John Fox and Ron Rivera. He’s good enough to beat inferior teams by running the ball and playing good D but he’s never going to outscheme or make the necessary adjustments against a superior opponent. That’s what Tomlin and his staff did against us yesterday, and we had no ability to counter their strategy successfully. The same thing happened against the Ravens. No answers once the running game was stopped. We are 3rd in the NFL with 48 and counting 3-and-outs. Says alot about our limitations on offense, but coaches like Tomlin, Harbaugh and Bellicheck successfully scheme around these and gameplan to expose opponent’s weaknesses to their advantage. That’s the type of coaching I would really hope we’re aspiring to bring here.
  6. This is why I’m perfectly fine with casting a wide net for our next head coach. I like Wilks but I really can’t see him coaching the Panthers beyond the mediocrity and inconsistency that has plagued this team for most of its existence.
  7. Sad but true. Mediocrity has been baked into the culture of this team. We’re not tough or talented enough to be a playoff team.
  8. They would’ve killed us with a better QB and play calling. They basically beat us at our own game.
  9. Much respect to Wilks but today confirmed a couple of things for me: 1) mediocrity and ultra conservative play calling is baked into the culture of this team for a long time. With the exception of a few seasons, we always have trouble with consistency. I’m not sure things will ever change with the current coaching regime. 2) our roster is woefully short on viable talent needed to play our brand of football, which certainly contributes to problem #1. We have too many holes to be a playoff team as things stand right now.
  10. Defense looking dejected. Straight up owned by the Steelers - 12 of 14 on successful 3rd downs
  11. Didn’t see CJ Henderson on the inactive list. Did anyone put out an APB or AMBER alert? Call 911 because Taylor has been getting abused all day!
  12. Your Carolina Panthers ladies and gents: making average to below average QBs look like HoFamers. This doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season.
  13. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re in good company with the rest of us! Everytime you start believing in this team, they lay an egg. Will be interesting to see how Wilks & co comes out after halftime.
  14. 48 3-and-out drives (3rd most in the NFL) Our Panthers offense ladies and gents!
  15. Could this pair of announcers be any more Pro-Steelers?
  16. Never a truck driver but logged plenty of miles on I-80 crossing the state of PA going to the Midwest. Talk about a long haul!
  17. Agree with your assessment here. If Wilks is considered for HC (which is likely a given), the choice of OC will be critical to whether he keeps the job IMO
  18. Sorry didn’t see your earlier post. Agree Jaycee reminds me a lot of Chris Gamble but I think the former is a little further along at this point in his young career than the latter.
  19. This is practically Horn’s rookie season after last year’s injury robbed him of his 1st season. The best is yet to come.
  20. Glad we got points but missed a golden opportunity on this drive
  21. We’ll so much for a potential upset by the Texans
  22. I agree with the earlier post that we need to extend Bozeman asap. If by some chance we lose him e.g. he signs elsewhere as a FA, then he at least deserves a look. But he wouldn’t be my 1st or 2nd option.
  23. Note to Tepper: Never let the outgoing GM make the coaching hire for the future. Hopefully Fitterer stays around but if not….DON’T DO IT!!!
