  1. I’m growing more impressed with our overall play. The difference is night and day. If we continue on this upward trajectory, I’d be fine with keeping the majority of our coaching staff in place IF Wilks stays on as HC. I’m on the fence about the DC - I’m not completely sold on Al yet but will give it time.
  2. I agree but if Rhule hadn’t messed up Christensen’s development with the “short arms” debacle, BC would’ve been on his way to being a solid LT and Ickey could’ve started @ LG which he’s better suited for at this stage of his career. Although his pass blocking is improving, run blocking is still his bread and butter. It would’ve galvanized our interior blocking from the start IMO. I still like the pick and I’m glad we got him.
  3. That and Piniero choking on two potential game winning kicks. Like Wilks said ‘one guy didn’t cost us that game’.
  4. Yeah picked a bad day to have a bad day. He’s a good kicker and hope he bounces back!
  5. I have to tell you after the disappointment of Sunday’s loss wears off, you realize just how amazing that play was. Good to see us on the right side of a highlight for a change.
  6. The D overall really fell part at crucial moments
  7. Oh I agree. Last Sunday not withstanding, we have a ways to go before we can be considered playoff ready!
  8. Agreed. The only thing “lethal” would be the cap hit!
  9. Yup he can save all that bullcrap. He did next to nothing the past two seasons and missed OTAs but he gave us his all? Good riddance!
  10. We could also use a stud DT to pair with Derrick Brown. Maybe Nixon will fill that role in time. He’s similar in size to Ionnadis but younger. Maybe we’ll also get a chance to develop Kenny Robinson into a eventual starting FS. We have decent depth there as of now. Otherwise, we’re set.
  11. Why would we do that when 1) he’s more a prototypical SS than LB; and 2) we have solid depth @ LB with Shaq, Luvu, Damian Wilson, Littleton, rookie Brandon Smith and the newly acquired Wooten. If we play him at his natural position, he can be a force closer to the LOS and great in blitz packages instead of FS where his weaknesses in coverage are exposed. Wilks, Chinn had major disagreements about his role in Snow’s defense. Now that Snow is gone, I’m hoping he finally reaches his full potential.
  12. Wow…wasn’t aware we let ‘Big Snack’ go big happy that Hayes is sticking around.
  13. Same here. If Wilks can get this team going the right direction, I’d be happy with keeping him as HC IF he agrees to hire a dynamic offensive play caller to complement a potential franchise QB.
  14. I really like Cade Mays. He can be a future starter anywhere along the interior or quality backup. His play during preseason was impressive.
  15. Christensen’s strength is pass blocking which makes him better suited at LT. He’s too light at his base to consistently anchor at G from what I’ve observed. Never understood why Rhule thought that was the better spot for him. At the very least, he’s serviceable on the blindside.
  16. That’s what quality teams do. OL depth is critical especially for those that rely heavily on the run game. The OL coach from our 1st SB run said you should draft at least one OL every offseason but we got away from that over the years. Good to see this become a priority again.
  17. I’m really glad Ickey is improving as the season progresses but I really wonder how much better our run blocking would be if we switched him to LG and moved Christensen back to his natural spot @ LT? Damn you, Rhule and that ridiculous debate about Christensen’s arm length!
  18. He’s not the only one. This fact has gone over the heads of more than a few Huddlers. Can’t just throw the baby out with the bathwater people!
  19. This I’d prefer we start with new blood -offensive minded HC, young but slightly experience OC and slightly experienced or vet DC (but not too long in the tooth). Wilks does well as a DB coach and pass D coordinator but I want coaches with a fresh approach and real ability to put players in the best position to succeed. JMO
  20. Right now, it seems like no one is off the table. I think DJ, Burns and Thompson could be had for the right price. And Burns or Moore may not want to be part of a rebuild at this point in their careers.
