Panthers designated Sam Darnold to return from IR.
Prowler2k18 replied to WaterBoy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would be nice to see Boze in the lineup. We need all the help we can get against the Bucs D front. -
Can’t really say I blame him. This offense has been a fiasco for since before Rhule got here thanks to the QB carousel. It was foolish to give him an extension under these circumstances. Glad we got what we could for him and now everyone can move on.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if move both of them. They deserve better and we’re obviously going full rebuild at least on the offense side. We’re not going to fix this mess this year, so recouping as much draft capital as possible is more valuable for the long-term.

Jonathan Stewart was 1000 % correct and what he said reflects Shannon Sharpe’s comments on this. While the frustration is understandable, Robbie is not a good enough player for that display on Sunday. We did good to get what we got to unload him.
-
Exactly but that’s one of many reasons he’s no longer here. Needs to focus on his game and no social media. We’re better off!
-
We won’t get 2 #1’s for him. Even as good a player as he is. I’d hate to see him go, but he’s better off on a team that has their ish together. The Bills, Rams, Niners or Broncos - any of those teams would be the best fit.

Who had final say over roster decisions? Not saying Fitt didn’t make a mistake but some of you fail to realize the extent of Rhule’s control over the roster. His near total autonomy on roster decisions was part of his contract deal. You can thank Tepper and Marty Meatballs for that.

Win win

Why? This doesn’t happen without him and we needed to get rid of what was becoming a growing distraction in Anderson asap.

Thank God!!!!

NFL Shocker: Texans part ways with Jack Easterby
Prowler2k18 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Tepper would be best served to purge any holdovers from the prior era that are either not a good fit or don’t have sufficient NFL experience. We need more “football people” making decisions not JAGs. -
Wow…the most efficient and cohesive this O has looked all year in the 1st drive. Bad no-call for targeting and block-in the back by Ickey notwithstanding,we could’ve gotten a TD.
-
Exactly. I’m not sure what Rhule and MacAdoo were thinking featuring Thomas in that role. More square peg round hole ideology I guess.
-
I agree with you . Tremble would be a better fit in the TE/HB role. Ricci is a good receiver but is not really suited as a HB. Thomas is a decent blocker and receiver but limited. Sullivan can catch but is an enigma. I hope we can upgrade this group next offseason.

How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?

We have to agree to disagree. There’s a bigger picture here that you’re apparently not seeing. I won’t lose any sleep if we made a clean sweep here. While Fitt is not totally blameless, this roster mostly has Rhule’s fingerprints all over it. He was given final say of personnel BEFORE Fitt got here and it remained such until he was canned. I’d be curios to see the direction of this team without the influence and control of the previous HC. -

This I think we’re just now beginning to understand how dysfunctional things were under Rhule’s influence. -

Yup. Some of these guys want to “throw the baby out with the bathwater”. Fitt has done a good overall job and the scouting department was recently revamped. I think these guys deserve a chance to right the ship now that Rhule is gone. -

With Rhule having final say on all personnel decisions, I think it’s fair to say Fitt was in a tough spot when it came to trading assets for players Rhule wanted e.g. Darnold, Mayfield and CJ Henderson. It’s been suggested that Carlos Dunlap wanted to come here if not for Rhule’s refusal to guarantee him a starting role. This past offseason appeared to reveal a slight shift in the caliber of players we acquired. I would personally like to see how Fitt and the rest of the FO will function without Rhule’s influence.
