    I’m expecting Dayvion Nixon to eventually fill the other DT spot. We’ve got decent enough depth to at least have a decent run defense this season.

    The soccer organization and Rock Hill facilities’ fiascos aside, I’m hoping the changes on the football side are an encouraging sign that Tepper is somewhat coming around and things are on a upward trend for the Panthers at least. Of course, whether or not that translates to success on the field remains to be seen.

    Switch BC and Ickey and you’ve got a pretty solid starting OL. Not sure if Ickey will be ready for LT out of the gate. He’s a bit undersized at T but he’s solid for LG. BC is too light and struggles on the interior but did a serviceable job at LT last season. I expect this will be how it looks for most of the season barring injuries.

    Not really. Think about it. There’s no guarantee Baker will be resigned here when he hits FA, and clearly the coaching staff doesn’t want to rush Corral’s development by starting him before he’s ready. Bring in a young, solid QB to start and let Corral backup for a season. Only giving up a conditional 5th and $5M is icing on the cake.

    I think we sort of painted ourselves into a corner with the Hayward contract. I never liked the decision to give him that ridiculous contract - good player but too injury-prone at this point in his career. Pretty much makes all these moves necessary to keep Bridges and sign other FAs.

    He shouldn’t have to force his way out…the Panthers should grant his wish He may prove me wrong but I pretty much over Robby A. I really hope we trade or release him to make room for more talented and motivated players like Marshall.

    They can’t be THAT incompetent…could they? I could see them starting Ekwonu at LG to start out, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I could think of worse lineups (and Lord knows we’ve had our share) than an OL with Christensen-LT, Ekwonu-LG, Bozeman-C, Corbett-RG and Moton-RT. That’s a solid OL with the best interior we’ve had in awhile.

    I agree but I think playing him deep sets him up to fail as coverage skills are not his strong suite. His size also works against him in the LB role, but he’s perfectly suited for SS in the mode similar to Kam Chancellor. I’m hoping the Xavier Woods signing will allow Chinn to focus and grow in that role as he very certainly has the skill set for it.

    Being experienced assistants aboard is certainly a step in the right direction. Snow touted the additions of Wilks and Pasqualoni in yesterday’s press conference, which SHOULD lead to better results. Only time will tell.

    Problem is he’s been moved around the past two season. He doesn’t have coverage skills of a FS but if they can focus on developing at his natural SS spot he could be. Playing closer to the LOS in run support, covering TE’s and blitzing is where his strength lies.
