Matty Water to the Colts for a 3rd rounder.
Prowler2k18 replied to NCTHFL0567's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don’t see this happening. Probably something put out by Baker’s camp to drum up trade interest considering our QB issues. -
An ideal IOL would be LG-Deonte Brown, C-Bradley Bozeman and RG-Austin Corbett. Very interested to see if we can bring on Duane Brown to hold down LT until we feel BC is ready to take over if he isn’t already. Either way, our OL should be remarkably better than it’s been in years.

Got some depth with the Ionnadis signing but we could use another edge rusher and LB

Panthers NOT signing another safety? Or just not Tyrann Mathieu...
Prowler2k18 replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bingo. Wished the coaching staff would figure this out. -
That brings a huge smile to my face

I think #6 is too high unless his stock has gone up. I wouldn’t mind getting him if we trade down.
-
It was heavily speculated that he was going to Atlanta. Maybe that was based off Ryan’s potential contact restructure or whatever. I guess it’s never really over until it is.
-
Yup. I think Mayfield got a raw deal but I still don’t want him.
-
Can you imagine these guys paired with rookie Trevor Benning @ LT? We’d have the nastiest and most hated OL in the league LOL!!!
-
Have feeling based on Bozeman’s size and resume that he might fill in at LG. That’s we’re he played 2 years prior to C last year. At least he has the flexibility to play both at a high level and we know how much Rhule loves flexibility.

Matt Ioannidis is signing with the Carolina Panthers, per source
Prowler2k18 replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree about the signing but I wouldn’t count on Armstead or Gilmore. The latter looks to be heading to the Raiders and Armstead is going to be too expensive. -

This is actually a good signing. Replenish depth on the DL. I’d venture to say this offseason’s FA signings are indicative of a more collaborative effort than year’s past. -

DT released by Washington earlier this week. Good depth signing after cutting Fox. -
Salary Cap for the Horses in the Race**

Nice breakdown…thanks! -
I agree and share your concerns. The hiring of more experienced coaches like Campen & McAdoo along with the recent FA acquisitions so far give me a glimmer of hope that things just might turn around.

Sign Armstead and draft Tyler Linderbaum
Prowler2k18 replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m hearing Armstead has a pending offer from the Dolphins. We may not have a shot after all. -
Browns will release C J.C. Tretter

I wouldn’t mind him at all. I can see NFC North rival Ravens being interested with the possibility of losing Bozeman -
Panthers sign S Xavier Woods (3 years, 15.75m)
Prowler2k18 replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree with you about his liabilities in coverage. He’s still good in run support, TE coverage and occasional blitzes. That’s the best way to use him IMO. -

Actually this should allow Chinn to move back to SS. -

Prowler2k18 replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree but not as a LB. He’s a SS and should be used accordingly. Even a hybrid role is okay but I think he’s more valuable as a safety. -
Panthers close to deal with G Austin Corbett

Great signing…was hoping we’d get him -
ESPN reporting Mitch Trubisky is signing with the Steelers.

I don’t think Bienemy is on anyone’s radar. He’s been inexplicably passed over by multiple teams with HC openings over the last few years. If any of this is true about Watson (which I think is highly doubtful and pure speculation), look for Brian Flores to be at the top of the list to replace Rhule.

If our roster was in better shape and we had the draft capital, I’d be all for it. As our roster stands now, and with what we’d have to give up, it would set us back due to the salary cap implications and the young talent we’d probably lose on defense. All this said, Tepper is the ultimate decision maker and if he wants him bad enough he’ll definitely make it happen.
