Hard to believe our offense is this inept. And Rhule looks like he’s just hanging out on the sidelines - completely disengaged.

This I get the logic behind their decision but picking up that 5th year option is a real head scratcher.

Passing up points for failed 4th down attempts eventually cost the Bolts in the end. That and the Chiefs total dismantling of their secondary.

I’ve read here that Chinn is a FS. If that’s true, that’s definitely wrong. He’s better as an in-the-box SS that can play a hybrid LB role and blitz. Coverage is not his strong suit.

I’d say all of the above. But poor LB/second level play is a bigger factor that many think. LB is definitely an area of concern that needs to addressed this off-season, especially MLB.

I had no problem with trading Perryman. He did nothing while he was here and it’s obvious he wasn’t all in - not to mention the vaccine issue. That said, add MLB to our list of needs this off-season. The void left by Kuechly’s sudden retirement has hurt the run defense as much as anything.

I agree but doesn’t YGM fit that description? Good points btw - not sure if any DE’s like this are worth a 1st round pick this year but I could be wrong.

That’s what got my attention. Noticed his athleticism in preseason too. Not sure why he hasn’t been given more of a chance given the lack of talent on the OL.

Agree with everything you wrote except DE. We’ve got big DE’s that can play adequately against the run e.g. Yetur Gross-Matos, Fox and Daryl Williams (traded from Buffalo). Phil Hoskins and Dayvion Nixon give us good depth on the defensive interior. Our problem IMO is we don’t play these guys enough in favor of defending the pass and it’s killing us. A bigger issue is LB specifically MLB. Shaq is NOT a natural @ MLB and Carter is a backup. Getting a stud at MLB to fill the void left by Keuchly would help this D a lot. And no, we shouldn’t spend a top pick on one unless we miss the boat on a blue chip prospect at QB or OL.

That’s the one positive thing I remember about John Fox - he brought in Dan Henning who had a ton of NFL coaching experience as his 1st offensive play caller. Rhule would have done well to do the same and if he stays on another year I hope he does just that.

These guys nailed it. Running the same plays over and over again only makes sense if it works. Ours never seems to but we run them anyway. It’s been that way for years.

True. Tepper has done more to improve the front office in 3 years than Richardson did in the 20+ years of his ownership. Just hasn’t translated to the field just yet.

I wouldn’t be surprised. The OL play has been uninspiring at best since he took over. Granted we haven’t had the talent but these guys as a unit have gotten worse. Even Moton has regressed some. I’d be all for seeing what Sparano Jr. can do the rest of the way.
