  1. I agree on Wilks but unless no one else takes the job, I’m all for bringing in new blood from the top down with the exception of a few staffers namely Campen and Tabor. I think it would benefit us to purge any connections to Rivera or Rhule.
  2. Holcomb should’ve gone with them. He’s a good position coach (LB) but the past few weeks has shown he’s in over his head as a DC. But as someone posted earlier, this will all be a moot point at season’s end.
  3. This especially re the LB corp. The hot start for Luvu is looking like mirage and I think he returns to being a backup and key ST player next season. Brandon Smith is young and athletic but not sure if he’s a future starter (got to work on his tackling), Shaq is probably playing elsewhere next season and the rest are either one-year rentals or JAGS. The unit could really use an infusion of talent.
  4. And Joe Mixon with his 5th TD!!! It’s a wrap!
  5. That’s because it’s non-existent. It’s been pitch-and/catch for Burrow all day!
  6. This is even the “old Panthers” unless you’re referring to the 2010 Panthers. This is just a downright pathetic performance!
  7. Yup…The Carolina Panthers: making average team look like world beaters is what we do
  8. Mixon has more rushing TDs (3) this half than he’s had all year (2). Let that sink in for a minute. This one is over.
  9. I agree on DJ and Burns. We’ve missed several opportunities to do this right. We’re apparently petrified of a actual rebuild.
  10. We continue to be the get-right game for opposing teams. This is just pathetic!
  11. WTH has had happened to the D? A 90 yard opening drive…are these guys sleepwalking?!
  12. The ideal hire would be a Sean McDermott clone - defensive minded HC but understands the importance of a dynamic offense. Teams like Buffalo and Seattle should be the blueprint for what Carolina should aspire to be - tough no-nonsense defense with balanced offenses featuring a smashmouth rushing attack complemented with great downfield passing. This is what has made and is making Panthers’ football exciting again. We just need to find our identity again.
  13. Yeah I’m hoping whatever happens we can hold onto Campen and Tabor. I’m with you on the defense and think new blood is needed there, particularly a defensive play caller that can get the best from the young studs. McAdoo - is a toss-up and the rest are replaceable.
  14. I’m growing more impressed with our overall play. The difference is night and day. If we continue on this upward trajectory, I’d be fine with keeping the majority of our coaching staff in place IF Wilks stays on as HC. I’m on the fence about the DC - I’m not completely sold on Al yet but will give it time.
  15. I agree but if Rhule hadn’t messed up Christensen’s development with the “short arms” debacle, BC would’ve been on his way to being a solid LT and Ickey could’ve started @ LG which he’s better suited for at this stage of his career. Although his pass blocking is improving, run blocking is still his bread and butter. It would’ve galvanized our interior blocking from the start IMO. I still like the pick and I’m glad we got him.
  16. That and Piniero choking on two potential game winning kicks. Like Wilks said ‘one guy didn’t cost us that game’.
  17. Yeah picked a bad day to have a bad day. He’s a good kicker and hope he bounces back!
  18. I have to tell you after the disappointment of Sunday’s loss wears off, you realize just how amazing that play was. Good to see us on the right side of a highlight for a change.
  19. The D overall really fell part at crucial moments
  20. Oh I agree. Last Sunday not withstanding, we have a ways to go before we can be considered playoff ready!
  21. Agreed. The only thing “lethal” would be the cap hit!
  22. Yup he can save all that bullcrap. He did next to nothing the past two seasons and missed OTAs but he gave us his all? Good riddance!
