  1. ...for 2024. Morgan is playing the long game. He probably even told Tepper in his interview it would at least take one season of cleaning house to get the roster heading in the right direction.
  2. Yup, $19M freed up for 2025 by cutting Bozeman, Bell and Hurst.
  3. Can't afford to without eating significantly into future cap space. I know we must sign some FAs, but we have to be smart and frugal about how we do it.
  4. TEs are going fast. We had better make a move before Wednesday.
  5. Exactly, that was the entire joke. Notice no quotes nor source(s). But yeah, it's not uncommon for competitors to talk up an inferior opponent to their advantage in sports or other endeavors.
  6. Hey, we re-signed JJ. Long snappers are the secret weapon on every team. Also retained Hill. Slow and steady gents, sloooow and steady.
  7. I think most of us prefer Burns to hit the road. Your correct though, retaining both is really not an option.
  8. The FA market for center is actually fairly deep. It's a matter if we can afford any of them. You typically don't get starting rookie centers unless they are day 1 or day 2 picks. I wouldn't mind drafting one on day 3 and developing him.
  9. I'm sure he would have rather made millions of dollars and actually have been successful too. Nobody likes being a failure, no matter your status in life.
  10. Nah, I get it. I've been duped by sarcasm a time or two myself. I'm fluent in it though, so it hurts my pride a little when I do fall for it.
  11. Tony Pollard to the Titans, per Rappaport. Three years at $24M.
  12. Purely a stop-gap. You will know by the contract when (if) this gets done.
  13. Anonymous brass within the Tampa Bay, Atlanta and New Orleans front offices are saying they think Bryce will be a top 3 QB in about 4 years. The Panthers would have to pick up the 5th year option in that case. When asked if they would trade for Young in a hypothetical scenario, all three of these personnel declined to answer the question.
  14. I saw where the 49ers chose to re-sign Brandon Allen to be Brock Purdy's backup. Darnold is likely hitting the road again. Poor guy.
  15. If anyone thinks we are drafting anything other than a WR in the second round, they are delusional. Heck, even with only six picks, it's very likely we double dip at WR in the draft.
  16. Surely that's a stop-gap measure and not a permanent solution. That would not preclude them for drafting a QB, though. They have to know Darnold will just good enough to keep them from the top of the draft board for the next season or two, so drafting a QB should still be in the plans this April. Plus, that give the rookie a chance to sit if need be.
  17. So about $1M more annually than the current WR tag amount.
  18. As much as I would like that, it ain't happening. Bryce is getting this year to prove himself. No serious competition. That's why I want to sign (FA or trade) a younger QB this year to compete next year after Dalton is gone. Andy isn't in the long term plans and drafting a rookie next year isn't appealing. We aren't cutting Bryce even in 2025, so the best thing to do if he doesn't drastically improve this year is give him legit competition for next season.
  19. If not, they are drafting a QB and they will be down to QB5 at their pick. Not sure they bite there for Nix/Penix at #13. If they go elsewhere and there's only 1 QB left of the top 6 remaining on the board in the second round, there's our trade down target.
  20. Throwing this out there. Should we trade for a borderline starter/backup QB this offseason and not wait until next season when Dalton's contract is up? The Mac Jones trade to Jacksonville got me thinking about something.
  21. Vikings are picking a QB at #11, no question. Now we need to know where Justin Fields is landing.
