  1. I honestlycan't remember.... did Brown do anything at all that made us think he could be an average starter? I know Rhule refused to play him then I phased out the end of the season so could of just missed it
  2. Not necessarily. Still many strings to be pulled.. restructure CMC (or traded), Darnold most likely goes to Texans in any trade, DW immediately restructured, etc...
  3. Wow great for him he earned it. Also thank god we didn’t pay that
  4. Gotta imagine something like that is happening behind the scenes. I don't think anyone here can disagree... Tepper wants to win and I believe he will empty his personal pockets to do so.
  5. Exactly. I'm still team LT this draft, but if we're deadset on a rookie QB, go get Baker for less value and let him get rocked this year while we fix our OL over the next 18 months and let the rookie develop.
  6. Now Colin is saying Brown's going after Watson. I'd much rather us go get Baker and keep our 6th than mortgage the future for Watson and give away young defensive players
  7. It's surprising to me we haven't yet come up with a way for owners to pay players directly. Something that clearly is against the rules, but we know everyone does... I guess akin to Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas etc paying players in college prior to NIL. Gotta imagine someone like Tepper would be happy to pay Watson out of his pocket to get him to take a "team friendly deal". Ticket sales and increase of the franchise valuation would make up for it pretty easily, gotta imagine. In a hypothetical like that, who cares what you give up in the draft, you can just go overspend in FA and fill all the holes with those picks you gave up. Now that I really think about it, it sucks we have the richest owner in the league but can't really use that to any advantage.
  8. Okay I'm assuming you're purposely trolling at this point. There's no way you can be this dense.
  9. We already gave you two? The Seahawks and the Chiefs both did it. Common denominator? Star rookie QB on that first contract. Again, see Bengals. I'm too lazy to look it up, but in the last 10 years who has won a Super Bowl besides Brady/Manning/Rookie deal QB... Stafford this year? Flacco maybe?
  10. Like I mentioned in my original post... They jumped forward a few years because they drafted one of the best QBs in the league who seems to be on an easy HoF trajectory. So they went from a 4-5 rebuild to a 2-3 because of how good Burrow is
  11. that's exactly what rebuilding is? They fired their coach and figured out what they had the first year while knowing they'd be awful while hoarding cap space and high value draft picks (what we should have done instead of getting Teddy). Let the new coach pick his QB with the pick year 2, sucked that year. I think everyone will agree they jumped a year or two because of how good Burrow is, but that is textbook rebuilding.
  12. This is just so wrong imo. An in the box safety just doesn't have nearly the amount of value as a pass rushing DE. I love Chinn, but even a Burns who is elite pass rusher/below average run is a more valuable piece
  13. You’re thinking too small. These restructures and cuts add up
  14. I don’t understand this move at all unless we have something big brewing like a Russel trade?
  15. Ugh. Only way I do this if it’s a 1:1 swap for Sam. We get rid of Sam’s contract and have the space to take on a bigger one, Vikings get cap relief. I wouldn’t give any picks
  16. No. Hence why I said go look at his numbers this year.
  17. I wouldn’t sleep on Wentz. Go look at his numbers this year with a garbage WR room, they’ll surprise you. People forget he was an injury away in the late late regular season from winning the MVP. We should have gotten him over Darnold last year
  18. Would love him on a trade back. If we’re at 6 with all QBs on the board you gotta get out of that pick, it has too much value with all the holes we have. Or don’t get cute and take best LT
  19. Im not convinced yet, but do have a little faith this is smoke. We’ve seen this off-season someone is forcing Rhule to make decent decisions like hiring actual NFL coaches instead of his buddies. If he has lost full authority with coaches, he may have also with personnel, and this could be Scott just building excitement for that pick. We know he loves to trade back, and if Pickett ends up the QB1 after the combine, and he’s there at 6, that pick has way more value.
  20. Now compare this to all the QBs coming out this year and take the one most opposite
  21. I mean not a huge splash, but damn someone with prior NFL experience at the spot? I know the bar is low here but sounds like a decent hire. I was fully expecting one of Rhule's buddies
  22. My pitch? Top 5 defense (PFF), elite WR1 and RB1, will use first round pick on OL and another big name OL in free agency, fire Rhule and new coach you like. I don't even know if we have the money or assets but that's where I'd start
