  1. That one would probably be my number 2. That was an epic game as well.
  2. I was at that 2015 game and watched it with a row of cape wearing hispanic Panthers fans right in front of me. Whatever you think your definition of going batshit crazy is, those guys topped it every time we scored a touchdown. And we scored a LOT of touchdowns. I don't know that I've ever seen sheer intense joy distilled into human form more purely, and I got to be part of it. Not just my favorite Panthers game, but honestly one of those moments that you know you'll remember at the end when you look back over your life.
  3. *Breathes in deeply of the topic.* Ah, nothing like coming back to the huddle after being away for a while to find which bottom feeder TE would be the better option over starting a tackling dummy or if anyone has actually seen the tackling dummies practice film. This is the sort of edge of your barcalounger hotly debated huddlement that is defintely NOT sapping my will to live and follow football. How low has the current braintrust forced us to set the bar that this is even a conversation?
  4. fair point. I was wrong on the first thing anyway, but still, fair point.
  5. bleh. Too much details. NFL people no longer allowed to name their sons jr. because it confuses me. Make it so.
  6. I mean yeah, but at this point I'm just venting my ire at the man who killed my love of the team. Remember, keep your focus on what matters here: Me.
  7. Floundering head coach goes into preseason with 4 QB's on the roster and gives meaningful preseason reps to the only one that a brain dead lemur on crack can see won't be on the team come opening day. No reporter asks meaningful questions about this.
  8. I think the head coach sucks. That's what you wanted right? My take on the head coach? Kidding aside, Kevin Gilbride was a head coach over 20 years ago and is now a tight ends coach. What does it say about a person that 20 years after being a HC, he's a position coach on a not highly regarded coaching staff?
  9. Would not even be news if we had a competent coaching staff. As is, was a question mark. Headline should have read: Coaching staff finally does super obvious thing even armchair mouth breathers could get right. In other news: the sky is blue, water is wet, women have secrets.
  10. I checked out to a large degree during the offseason (too much Rhule made me sick to my stomach), do Bozeman and Corbett have multi year deals or can we cut them after this season without much loss?
  11. My conclusion is that you would answer yes because it supports your position to assert an unknowable thing. The conclusion I draw from this is like most people, you tend to make assertions that support your position and dismiss those that do not. Not a very remarkable conclusion, but then, not a particularly impressive assertion. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't, but you saying so doesn't make it so. I tend to think Robbie is a serviceable number 2 in the league, not garbage but not a Pro Bowler. As long as he is paid appropriately, there's a role for him here I think, more than can be said for many of Rhule's former college players who have wound up here. Looking at you PJ.
  12. Exactly. Abbott doesn't get it because he wasn't a very good coach. He should have had a process.
  13. SHOT NINE TIMES!!! oh wait, that's 50 cent, right? I'll see myself out now.
  14. Rhule's ability to talk out of both sides of his mouth while making a train wreck out of his actual job responsibilities means he's missed a career in politics. A career I wish he'd pursue. Now.
  15. But...the process....trust it you must.
  16. True story: Year before last I had just purchased a new 82 inch big screen and Boze soundbar, so that, as someone who watches very little TV, I could watch the Panthers at home in style. My company promptly sent me to DC for an entire month after firing the DC branch GM, and I spent an entire month watching my Panthers in DC area bars listening to Washington commentary at full blast while trying to focus on the one tv with no sound I'd gotten them to put the Panthers on. In short, I have a fair bit of practice at tuning him out.
  17. Yeah, that would be nice. Almost as if it's a proven axiom that continuity on the O line matters in the NFL, and smart coaching staffs grasp this and act accordingly, so I'm sure it will not happen here.
  18. And it's not even THAT difficult a question. Suppose Rhule has some rationale for doing so that makes sense, this question would give him a chance to state his case. There are diplomatic ways to say "we're letting a young man show what he can do in hopes Chainsaw Da...I mean some well run team will offer something of value for him." And as for the notion that NFL head coaches don't need to explain their thinking to fans: true most of the time, but when you listened to fans in the stands chant for you to be fired to your owner most of the second half of last season's home games, it might behoove you to at least attempt to explain yourself to the paying fans firing off emails to your boss about what an embarrassment you are, and how they're selling their PSL's if you don't go. Not that I think he's got any good explanation, just that I agree it would be nice if someone asked a real question every once in a while.
  19. Can I trust that the process will remove Rhule as my team's head coach before I die?
  20. I am no particular proponent of Corral. In fact my overall opinion is annoyance that we spent a 3rd rounder on a team with plenty of holes on the QB position, when 17% of QB's drafted in that round start more than half the games in their career. The odds that Corral becomes a starter are not good, based solely on where he was drafted, but I've made the case in other posts today why think the pick was a bad move by management. But once you have him, not investing in him to at least develop into a backup is foolish. What's the outcome here that makes management look good? PJ looks good during the preseason and we keep him, cutting Corral and wasting a 3rd rounder we traded to acquire? PJ looks like a guy with no real NFL future and we cut him, begging the question why he was given so many reps during preseason games when he's largely a known quantity to our coaching staff? The team keeps both players making me wonder where I can get some of whatever Rhule and Fitt are smoking.
