  1. We just need to invent a new formation where Bryce stands 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and JJ Jansen plays center.
  2. My point is not everyone is capable of having that much meat on their bones. I bet Bryce has been lifting since high school. I can guarantee it. He just doesn't have the genetics of an NFL athlete. It is what it is.
  3. You gotta win at least a little bit in the genetic lottery to be over 200 lbs at the height of a toddler and look like Kyler.
  4. Wilson was a good athlete out of college, being pretty good at baseball as well. Look at pictures of him as a rookie. He had muscle on him. He was just short. But, Wilson also brought back the Fran Tarkenton style of scrambling that I don't think anyone was used to dealing with at the time.
  5. Don’t worry we’ll put Andy in and win 3 of the last 5 games to build culture and drop down to the 5th pick.
  6. Real question is that list any better or worse than the overall pool of QBs drafted early vs successful ones? The hit rate is stupid low before you narrow it down to guys that didn’t throw.
  7. Madden stopped caring about being as realistic as possible a long time ago. Its just about selling ultimate team stuff now.
  8. I could see it going either way. He could be the next Pete Carroll, but you know even Pete didn't get it quite right until he took the Seattle job.
  9. I don’t really care if all he says is “it is what it is” or “we picked a bad day to have a bad day” or “missed opportunities” as long as he wins.
  10. He’s a hall of fame receiver in my mind. I don’t care what anyone says. He was incredibly dominant in his prime.
  11. Agreed. They didn’t build around him at all for last year’s team. But based on what we’ve seen I don’t think it’s a good idea to do it now.
  12. I mean I completely agree. I’m just not sure that’s the best path forward long term. Canales could flame out and be terrible. Honestly that’s probably the most likely outcome lol. But I honestly feel like building a roster and coaching staff for one player is only worth it if it has a good chance of paying off. Bryce could still prove me wrong but I don’t think he’s worth building around specifically. I still think we beefed up the guard position to help run the ball too. Canales wants to run the ball between the tackles, and we were trash at it last season. Sure we also need better pass protection, but Bryce made them look worse than they were last year. There were plays where he didn’t have a chance to throw. But there were also plenty of plays where everything was there and he just didn’t or couldn’t make the throw.
  13. Way too early to have an opinion about the QB class next year. A top prospect could emerge.
  14. He’s what we hoped Bryce would be. Physically unremarkable but good enough. Plays smart and does what is needed to win. For whatever reason people always hate a winner that doesn’t have all the physical potential. But the other guys people are bringing up have not had the same success. I don’t know if he’s 2 overall, but he’s good. Making the right decisions is a lot more important than flashy highlights.
  15. I’m not attempting to defend the Panthers decisions, and I don’t have a ton of optimism that this particular regime is going to work out. That said, you can’t complain that Bryce is incredibly limited and pointless to build around, and then complain that the new coach is installing his system regardless of Bryce’s limitations. Coaches install their scheme that they run and get their guys in order to run it. It’s been that way since I started watching in the 90s. This is not an endorsement of Canales or Tepper. It’s just reality.
  16. If Zach Wilson or Trey Lance panned out, he would get a lot more heat. That class has been awful.
  17. Because he is a meh QB. He saved his career from being awful by becoming an average starter. He’s definitely a big disappointment from what he was billed as out of college.
  18. As much as Canales likes to sling it, he ran Rachaad White into the ground last year. Almost 300 carries of nothing but being ground down to the bone. We will need guys that can run between the tackles, and I don’t think they like Sanders.
  19. I’d rather have a coach that’s going to install his plan instead of building around the weaknesses of a very limited player. We goofed on the draft pick but this is the path forward. He either swims or he doesn’t.
  20. Availability is the best ability as long as you’re at least replacement level. Sanders didn’t meet that bar last year.
  21. The overall stats aren’t a good indicator of what I’d need to see. Personally I need to see him show he can drive the ball down the field. The offensive line should be better and I’m assuming the passing scheme will result in more open receivers. Hes gonna have to show he can make big time throws. Not just from a yardage point of view, but 3rd down and red zone situations.
  22. They did this because Arthur Blank believes the Packers model is the path to finding a franchise QB. Drafting a 1st rounder and letting them sit for 2-3 seasons.
  23. That's really unlikely to happen. The reality is, they are building for what Canales wants to do. That's what all coaches do. And if Bryce can't do that, he's another peg that has to be replaced.
