Now as I think about it and type that post I think if fitt did do that trade he probably gets at least another year as A) he showed he could win trades, B) could argue he traded with the owners blessing his best player and C)he didnt hire Reich K Mack, a defensive player of the year, was traded for 2 firsts and a 3rd. Macks career is/was on a different stratosphere then burns. There is simply no way you can argue not trading burns was the right call at any point in that affair

He still was throwing off his back foot (throw to sanders and moore) and he was still doing the hop throw at times (Moore td throw) but when he mechanics are sound he tends to throw a nice accurate ball . Still a long process but it would make things easier on morgan and co if qb wasnt a top need going into 2025

With his current deal and his age and by the sheer fact that they havent done anything to extend him or whatever, it appears they are just going to ride it out and let him walk at 32 years old instead of working something out. He looked for once like a competent nfl qb. His guys had some drops, he had some misfires but he also had like 3 above average throws. He should start from here on out and see what happens. Even after yesterday I still think competition should be brought in in the offseason if we are going to keep him
