  1. No Roman please. I get a distinctly average feeling from him. Very Ben Macadooish. Any word on how the interview with Evero interview went or if there will be a 2nd? Based on what I am seeing now for me It's 1) Reich 2) Evero
  2. I think the idea is that all the data is coming during the game anyways. While the defense is on the field they get to go over what is or isn't working. I think the difference maybe that some OC can actively adjust between series and some probably need the break at halftime to readjust the calls they want. So no one comes into the locker room at halftime and starts talking about it with the QB, the changes are made through playcalls. If that makes sense.
  3. This was the guy I wanted after Johnson, but the more I learn it may be an even better fit. He has been around some of the best in terms of building the right chemistry too. Reid and Daboll both have their teams heart. Like someone else mentioned, Reid and Daboll also have the best offenses over the last few years. Get him in here Tepper!
  4. 1/24 I think they interview Kafka Sunday and then talk it over/hammer out the details and get the offer signed Monday night/Tuesday morning.
  5. Can't I? I haven't voted as I am torn, but like....who is going to stop me from coming back and celebrating if I felt that way? You? LOL
  6. Don't care about soccer or the issues with Rock Hill. As far as the Panthers go I think its been hit and miss. Miss : Keeping Marty Hurney Hiring Rhule Hit : Hiring Fitt Willing to pay Admits to learning from mistakes made early on It really comes down to how this next HC search plays out. I am very worried that he is honed in on Payton like he was with Rhule, not that they are the same, but I hope there are serious discussions on who is the next HC and not just a rubber stamp on Payton after the 1st meeting.
  7. You know it was in a tweet from one of these NFL beat reporters, but that D played at a high level all season even though it was clear the offense was cooked by like game 3. He kept his guys invested, energized and ready to play in what was becoming a national joke. I believe that was a top 5 D even with no offense to speak of.
  8. I hope we don't jump on Payton before we can get Kafka and possibly Steichen in the building. I am also interested in the Broncos D coordinator. Apparently he was the guy that kept that locker room together and had that D playing at amazing levels even though their offense couldn't produce all year.
  9. I'd imagine that they are casting a wide net here and doing their research, reaching out to contacts etc... and in that process Mayos name came up or kept coming up and couldn't be ignored. The truth of the matter is to top candidate going in could not be the top candidate coming out. I would say Vrabel has been a good coach. Once again, very different being a player from that environment then being a coach from there.
  10. I got a feeling Levis will be there. Now do they take him? That's a different question. Who else is on the board? Could really use a DE.
  11. I would think this is more like a Vrabel then a Patricia/McDaniels. High level former player I think makes a big difference. Those guys were leaders on the field too. It makes a difference if you can translate that to coaching.
  12. I'm not put off my J.Mayo at all. I kinda like what Dan Campbell has done out there in Detroit. Former players that can be good coaches seem to have a certain "it" factor. If Mayo can lead like Campbell and assemble a good stuff, I'm all aboard. I think people get too stuck on offensive coach vs defensive. You need the right coach, McDermott is a great example of this. That offense functions and he is smart enough to know to not go the conservative route. I think recent former players understand the new NFL better anyways, they played it. They know conservative O and calls don't win games anymore.
  13. ALSO, why would Baltimore be willing to let him go if he is the type of QB that can win you a championship? That is a good front office who know what they are doing. If they don't see the future for him ( with a guaranteed contract ) why should Carolina jump on it?
  14. 1 ) He would want a full guarantee contract 2) I don't believe his play is sustainable, once he slows down its over. So no. Get a more traditional QB who can make all the throws and read defenses and has the ability to run when needed.
  15. I think this is where I am landing. Johnson as the top pick. I just hope we can keep Campen on staff no matter who gets hired.
  16. To be honest, I wouldn't be mad if we drafted 2 offensive linemen each year.
  17. So glad they are staying away from Harbaugh. Dude is insane, if he comes back to the NFL it is not going to go well for him.
  18. If Miami is this dumb, Tepper needs to get that man in the building ASAP and never let him leave.
  19. Henderson, Chinn, YGM If these 3 were playing to perceived potential the defense would be legit scary.
  20. He's a crazy person, the more I think on it the less I want him.
  21. These are the things. Its a little bit of what Rhule did, treat them like college kids. Rhule went the "I'm your homie" way and Harbaugh goes "I'm your boomer Dad" route. Harbaugh got wins there so it flew under the radar for a while, but when you are that guy 1 small crack leads to the damn breaking. Like....is he going to berate a player for eating a chicken sandwich, ya know? Also todays players are less likely to respond to those things IMO.
  22. I mean sounds like a plan to me....get rid of an expensive RB in todays NFL and keep a great young player at one of the most important positions on the field. I know its a meme but.....we could even potentially draft a young pass rusher with the picks we get from Brian Burns! 1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Not guarantee the next DE they draft pans out and Burns isn't reaching the end of his career.
