  1. Yes. The best way for a team to rebuild and win a super bowl is to organically grow things with new GM, HC and QB. The right trio will take you to the promise land. I had a feeling and still do think Mac will be the best QB from this class. His shirtless pic that was used to mock him will have a similar usage to Brady's shirtless combine pic some day.
  2. I've been watching the NFL long enough now to know that good teams some times lose to bad teams, some times bad teams beat good teams, some times teams that win almost every regular season game lose in the playoffs, some times teams that are close to .500 go to the super bowl or win it. That's why we watch, it's unpredictable, it's fun, we have no control over what's going on. all the players ask us to do is cheer loudly while they throw their bodies at each other and try to give us a reason to get together and watch these games. I'll take as many as we can get, if that means a bonus game wild card weekend - sign me up!
  3. I'm flying out for this game, my first home game since like 2018. really going to be bummed if PJ is starting, a huge downgrade from which I originally planned for this to be a Sam vs Cam. Pat's seem to have a good team that can win or lose any game. we're 1-0 when I'm at home games though!
  4. not delusional at all. I'm not expecting us to win the super bowl this year or anything but to be so whiney and negative after winning a game and being in a situation where we might be in the playoff hunt instead of talking draft is childish. it's a sports game we watch for fun, I know I would rather be watching a playoff game and having a good time in January than crying on an internet forum.
  5. you must get invited to a ton of events.
  6. I said that we won our last game and currently sit 7th in NFC standings. not exactly that time to talk about tanking and saying the season is a wash. I have a feeling you live your life with this sort of quitter mentality though which is unfortunate for you and the people around you. good luck and go Panthers!
  7. my apologies for not being an unsatisfied whiney bitch after the sports team I watch for entertainment purposes and have no control over beat a sports team that usually embarrasses us.
  8. oh we're back to discrediting wins based on who is at QB and how many points we win by I see.
  9. we won a game yesterday and sit 7th in the NFC standings.
  10. I have this sinking feeling that nothing will ever change until I stop focusing on the team for a while. Try to rid of the nostalgia and previous memories. Then one day a whole new team will come out of nowhere, one with promise and a completely different look. I'll barely know the coaches or players, but I think that we are so far away that maybe when my son is older he can enjoy watching them win again with me. Not sure I'm able to stop focusing on them as much as I do, but it's like watching a clock. Just feels much slower and agonizing waiting for the time to come.
  11. Thanks for all the input, do any of you locals know about some of these areas educational systems? I will have kids going through elementary, middle and high school. Curious if any of you know about their youth sports programs, schools and such. We have so many options out here, I'm sure some of these smaller towns only have a couple options no?
  12. Thank you! I had not heard of Sylva, looks like a great option - slightly further from Charlotte than I would like but that isn't a deal breaker.
  13. That is a money shot, Morganton seems great - you really don't get any snow? I think Boone checks most of my boxes. Something I need to consider too are my kids and the schools they would go to.
  14. Interesting, that is great info I appreciate it. I know nothing about snow living in SoCal. We drive 3 hours to big bear just to see some before it melts. I've been by the beach forever and just want 4 seasons, I know my mom does too - I'm not trying to shovel snow and poo but thought it would be cool to get snow during the holidays. My requirements are pretty simple I think, we want to live in the Carolina's, have all 4 seasons, no neighbors, view of the mountains, close enough to a downtown area with main store like target /starbucks/ trader joes / fast food / etc, nothing more than 2 hours from Charlotte. I of course would love to pay less than I pay here in Cali and have more bang for my buck as far as home size / lot size. I would pay as much as a do I Cali for a place that checked every box and then some though, I've seen some amazing options for what I pay out here. Morganton looks awesome, what is wrong with Marion lol?
  15. Hmm damn the snow thing is a huge buzzkill, should've done more research than just googling "Town Name, NC Snow" and seeing if they had a picture of the town with snow as confirmation haha. Guess I'm going to fuggin Boone!
  16. Thanks for the info, internet service is very important in my line of work. I did not know snow was so fleeting in these areas. I'm not looking to get snowed in every xmas but I have never had 4 seasons or snow during the winter. I'm fine with tourists, anything is better than where I live in between malibu and LA...
  17. True, I have been somewhat open to other areas like Utah and AZ but my wife isn't as into it. We truly love the Carolina's and even considered the coast - but living by the coast our whole lives has us open to moving to a different climate with 4 seasons, something we've never experienced. I could get close to a Million for my home and could get a spot for half the price with way more land, rooms, a spot for my Moms and get the view / weather I'm looking for. I've done research on the weather and it seems like areas like Boone get tons of snow during Xmas... there are also some restrictions / taxes / policies / etc in Cali that NC does not have that I won't get into. Thanks! I have not looked into those towns yet, been kind of staying on the 40 from Ashville to Hickory with Boone as a wildcard option but might not want to move into a college / tourist city.
  18. I was prob shidding in a diaper.
  19. I have been toying with the idea of moving to the Carolina's since the pandemic. I can work remotely and make the same amount, I own a home in Southern California and have two young children. My wife and I have been discussing the pro's and con's, really it's just family at this point. I would prob have to bring my mom and get a place with MIL suite or guest house. Wanted to see if any locals could provide some insight on living in the following areas: Ashville Marion Boone Morganton Hickory We really want 4 seasons and a white Christmas guaranteed every year. I'm sick of neighbors, I want some land with a mountain view but also close enough to a downtown area, Target, Food, Shopping, Etc. Also be able to drive to see the Panthers as often as possible. Anyone live in these cities or near by? Any ever make a move like this? Any other recommendations on towns in this area or with these requirements is greatly appreciated!
  20. Sorry, Austin TX is an overrated shithole - I'll pass on the invite like I'm sure most women do when you attempt to meet up IRL.
  21. @hepcat lmao did this clown just pull the classic "I will fight you in IRL"??? no way, I have not seen that one in years - this must be a teenager. theres just no way a grown man would . KYS
