  1. Anything less than 3 1st rounders is a not going to get it done to move up to #1 and the Bears know that. Who knows if the Bears want to move all the way down to 9 and miss out on a blue chip player too. I think it's more ideal to trade up to #5 and then package that to get up to #3 or even #1. If we are ok with either Stroud or Young then we 100% have to leapfrog Indy. Houston will decide who we take if we can get Ariz spot at #3. Worst case scenario is Indy trades to #1 and takes a QB, Houston takes a QB, then I think Panthers will get desperate and trade up to settle for Levis or Richardson. Vegas and Atl are legitimate threats to take QBs even more so now that Brady is retiring. I'm sure Vegas was hoping to lure Brady there.
  2. My biggest takeaway from the press conference is his offensive philosophy. The more I think about it, the more I'm a believer that Reich can get us turned around quick. Think about it, his philosophy is currently being implemented to perfection by the Eagles. Reich wants to establish the run game to set up the big chunk passing plays downfield coupled with a top 10 defense. Coach Sirianni is a Reich disciple. Eagles have a top 5 run offense, top 3 total offense, scored 32 total rushing TDs this year. They have AJ Brown and Devonta Smith making huge downfield plays, their offense is unstoppable and their defense is top 2 with 70 total sacks. What he talks about is actually working in the NFL.
  3. If you listen to what Reich wants in a QB as he defines all of the traits, the QB prospect he is describing is actually Young. The knock on Young is that he is so small and may not tolerate the punishment, there are reports that Young is trying to put on weight to get up to 210 lbs by the combine, if he can do that he'll go #1.
  4. If Reich really thinks Corral has that potential then the answer is already on the roster, why invest and draft a QB in this year's draft. I'll believe it when I see it after this years draft.
  5. There is a reason Corral fell to the 3rd round while Young, Stroud, Levis are considered 1st round talent. This is like Houston hoping David Mills will save the day after riding with him for one more year, where did that get them? A top 2 pick! Grab the elite prospect and go with it! Besides I think this injury to Corral has really set his career back. Corral is essentially a rookie all over, he couldn't even get in physical reps during practice this year.
  6. As I've said before, I think our current team is much more equipped for a rookie QB than in the past. Good O-line, solid run game, good defense, and now a QB friendly HC. Darnold played well as a game manager during the second half of the season and we were able to pull of 6-6 record, I believe a rookie QB could given the same production. As much as Reich is an offensive coordinator, he knows he needs a top 10 defense to keep you in games.
  7. I think this team is built and ready for a rookie QB, strong O-line, run game, QB friendly HC, strong defense. If we can find our franchise QB, I don't mind trading future 1st rounds because we won't be picking top 10 if we get a home run!
  8. I think there has been a hyper focus on finding great coaches on this staff this time around due to Rhule's incompetence with coaching/staff failures in the past. You can have intelligent students but if you have poor teachers, these kids will never reach their full potential.
  9. I think Panthers should do something similar to what Philly did when they drafted Wentz. Philly was 13 but traded up to 8th and then 2nd overall. Chicago, Houston, Ariz may not want to drop all the way down to 9 but maybe only a couple of spots to 5,6,or 7. Maybe Panthers trade to 5 or 6 and then leverage that pick to get #1 or #3 pick.
  10. I think the unexpected retirement of Luck really set Reich up for failure. After year 2 or 3 as a HC you are expected to win ASAP and I think that's what drove him to get retreads, they were trying to win playoffs and didn't have time for a rebuild. I think if you set expectations with Reich that he has to get the QB situation right and he has time, I think he'll feel a lot better about drafting a QB.
  11. Here is to hoping that Reich will be our next Andy Reid of the Chiefs. Now go get this man a QB, Fitt!
  12. So, one day Jake Delhomme is going to coach the Panthers, followed by Cam Newton?
  13. Coach Reich's press conference better be all about the QB situation. Grill him and ask what his plan is to find our next franchise QB. Draft prospects, Darnold, Matt Corral, signing veteran. His hire doesn't matter if he can't find our next QB. I think Tepper brought Reich in to fix the QB situation, so I do expect us to be aggressive in finding the next franchise QB.
  14. I think there is legitimate concern as he has talent on offense in Dallas. Dak, Zeke, Pollard, Lamb. Ben Johnson has who? Can Kellen Moore get the same production with less talent?
  15. I do feel that Cam's MVP year is different compared to other MVP players outside of stats and simply because of his influence. Cam had everyone doing the "Dab!" People who didn't even watch football did the dab.
  16. Must be a slow Wednesday at work, so much traffic and opinions on the Huddle this afternoon lol
  17. Panthers hiring Reich gives me Commanders hiring Rivera vibes. At the time Rivera had credibility and at least found success and was better than what they had at HC, but after 3 years the Commanders are still a mediocre team and in QB purgatory. I think Panthers have just regressed so bad with Rhule that we're settling for any HC experience now.
  18. If the next HC is not Wilks, I think the next guy will have a harder time winning over the locker room. At the end of the day the players will have to suck it up and play but we've already seen what happens when the team doesn't buy in (ex. Rhule.) Wilks already has the support of the locker room and team captains, he just needs to convince Tepper and Fitterer that he has a plan for the offense/QB situation. I think if Tepper isn't blown away by one of these young offense coordinators, Wilks will be the guy. If you guys were in Wilks position, how would you guys pitch your plan to Fit and Tepper?
  19. I don't mind a raw QB prospect AS LONG as the next HC can develop him. Our next HC and QB needs to be a perfect marriage. Joe Burrow is a franchise QB who saved Zac Taylor's job. Purdy is a poor prospect but playing well because of good coaching. Lawrence was trash before Pederson. I'm starting to move away from the notion that we have to have an elite prospect at the QB position, obviously it helps to be elite, but with right coaching and situation I think success can be found.
  20. Came across this video and it's a really good quick scouting report on each QB prospect in this years class. I think this dude is spot on with his assessments of each QB, talks about strengths and weaknesses of each. Not a Levis supporter but I can grow to like and support him if he is our pick. If all 3 QBs are gone, the next question is if we would take Richardson in the top 10. His eval of Richardson is a more raw Cam Newton when he came out in 2011. Some on the huddle would rather roll with Corral, but he thinks Richardson is a much higher and better prospect that Corral.
  21. "I've got 20 years of education, graduated the 10th grade twice!"
  22. I don't think Payton wants to go back to NO. Why go back to an aging ex-girlfriend when you can hook up with a hot new girlfriend?
