Definitely understand people getting impatient and thinking this could negatively affect our coaching search. But as an owner. Supporting the people in any business you own during a tough time is always more important. Sure we may miss out on a coach but as someone said if they accept a job before interviews resume then it wasn’t meant to be and the coach probably didn’t want to be here. Also Payton not being interview will probably be good. Tepper did a good,

His plan is Ball control offense. Play not to lose. Win time of possession. Limit missed opportunities. Sit on a lead instead of scoring more allowing the other team to get back in the game. No adjustments because his “gameplan” will work, darn it, even if it is obvious it isn’t working. Make it to the playoffs every even year instead of odd under Rivera. Gotta change it up. But because he is a former interim he will probably never make a Super Bowl. Since only one former interim has made it, Jeff Fisher, back in the 90s.
-
He said he was going back because the Lions are building something special. Watch the Lions go 7-10 and miss the playoffs again.

Never seen a guy so dedicated to mediocrity. It is funny and sad.

I wonder how good he’d be if he had actual receivers. He leading receiver was signed off the street. I give Kafka and Daboll a TON of credit for turning Daniels career around. It was what Rhule had hoped to do with Donald. Unfortunately Rhule sucks.

Kid played himself into an extension after the Giants didn’t exercise his 5th year option. When does that ever happen?
-
Childish. Yeah right. Can’t take criticism and also cannot take you view being challenged. You are pathetic.

Answer me this how does Wilks make the Panthers a better team? Can he lead the Panthers to a Super Bowl. Can he get out of his conservative tendencies? Can he evolve and be modern. The way he played football this year won’t win very many games. Playing not to lose is what Rivera and Fox did and it lead to a lot of season where we lost by one score and probably would have made the playoffs more if they were more aggressive offensively. If Wilks does become the coach he needs to know that his offense is gonna need to score points and remain aggressive. Not get the lead and the sit on it.
-
It really is amazing how you Wilks supporters think that he is some amazing coach that was hampered by a bad situation and if he just has one more chance he will become the next McVay and lead the Panthers to the promise land. History says Wilks will fail and I will be laughing and laughing while you Wilks supporters try to invent some excuse as to why it isn’t his fault. Also concerning blinders. That is hilarious considering Wilks supporters are about as blind as a bat to Wilks problems.

It sure as hell’s been justified. During his one season with Arizona and also this year Showed how conservative he is.

Super Bowl 50 is because Rivera wouldn’t adjust. Broncos players said as much after the game. Rivera without Cam is a mediocre coach who would have been fired in 2013 if not 2012. Wilks doesn’t have a Cam to carry his ass. To make up for his boneheaded coaching decisions, which we saw this season. Wilks is a mediocre coach. Who will, at best, make then Panthers the Titans of the NFL. Meaning, yeah, we may make the playoffs but we will never make the Super Bowl. As a fan I want better then mediocrity and the chance to be beaten by a better more rounded team, which is what happens to the Titans. It will be hilarious if we do hire Wilks and he sucks. I will be laughing my ass off.

I was curious what the Arizona media was saying about Wilks during his tenure and surprise, surprise it is the same stuff we were complaining about him, Rivera and Fox. Too conservative, no adjustments, bad clock management.
-
FIFY. Don’t think I haven’t forgot how many close losses because of Rivera conservative playcalling.

Go on record now before the hire is made Re: Sean Payton

I feel like if Wilks is hired he will have a VERY short leash. Since it is obvious that he is the last choice. -
Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now

It has happened before. It could happen again. -
Wow that would be an incredibly anti-climatic hire.
-
Kinda feels like “We are bringing the crew back” after a failed Super Bowl run only for that same crew to go 7-10 and miss the playoffs.
-
You put enough zeroes at the end of a check I’ll stay anywhere…within reason.
-
Yep. Totally agree. Think what you will about his time as HC with the Colts. He was at best a mediocre coach and he loved cast off QBs as much as Rhule did.
-
I like Reich more than Wilks but they both should only be the last choice if all else fails. As you said would be funny if after all this talk of bringing in young OCs as HC we hire a guy who was, as best, mediocre as a HC.
-
Reich worries me. His offensive path with Colts was very similar to Rhule with so many cast off QBs. I mean he wasn't that impressive as a HC. He should still be on the low end, like right above Wilks, when it comes to being hired.
-
Why I love this offseason. Even if I lose, Wilks is hired, it is gonna be wild for the entire offseason.
