No need to be hostile. Just saying we may have to “trade the farm” anyway in order to get our QB. We don’t know. I am also not fond of trading all our picks but ya gotta take a chance sometime. I would prefer a QB fell to us at 9 and we can build the team with all our picks intact. Gonna be an interesting draft, of course now that I say that it will end up being anti-climatic and boring.

Yeah but he’s got a point, not necessarily with you, but with a lot of fans thinking that the QB position is just gonna fix itself and we need to just keep filling other holes until somehow, someway a QB falls into our lap. Likely we are gonna have to take a chance on a QB people on this board don’t like. But at this point in time, considering the alternative and the last 3 years, I am fine with the team taking a big chance. Because if we draft a rookie QB he will be on a rookie deal and if he doesn’t work out then we will try again. I think QBs in this draft are better than people give them credit for. Yeah, next year has, potentially, a better QB draft but when has that ever stayed pat. Heck, last years QB pool was supposedly really good a year before. Same thing with this years draft. Same thing will likely happen with next years draft too, I bet.

Saints game and Tampa game.

I don’t think you watched the same QB I did. I saw a limited QB who was helped tremendously by the running game. Sorry, you can’t say Sam deserves a new deal after his atrocious game against the Saints. Sam is never gonna be a starting level QB and will be a hindrance on any team stupid enough to sign him if he starts. Tepper doesn’t want Darnold that is obvious and I doubt Reich wants his first QB with us to be one of the statically worse QBs to ever play the last 5 years. There is no getting used to the idea. We aren’t resigning him.

Doesn’t matter what you say some people love supporting players who suck at their job.
-
What are you talking about? There are plenty of fact, like the last 4 years, that prove Darnold effing sucks. Darnold was not good even during his wins. He wasn’t. Saints game was the real Sam Darnold. The Tampa game was the real Darnold. Good lord you guys are so freaking weird.
-
Over these last few seasons I realized this that some in this fanbase loves being fans of bad players. Never understood the Darnold fanbase that refused to see what is right in front of their face.
-
I actually give QBs a chance. I gave Darnold a chance. I will give whoever is our QB next year a chance, if it isn’t Darnold again. But his body of work speak for himself. He has the physical tools but not the mentality. He has had 4 very bad years and last season he was mediocre to bad and limited the offense a great deal. If the running game wasn’t as good Bad Darnold would have shown up way sooner. Darnold isn’t a good QB. He never will be. He is a backup. But people keep thinking he is gonna turn a corner and become a franchise QB. That is never gonna happen.

If there was a Cam, Luck or Lawrence we wouldn’t be trading up because the Bears would take him. We are gonna have to give up “important capital” whenever we actually pick a QB, unless one actually falls to us at 9, because this team isn’t gonna tank and I doubt we will suck enough next year to draft a QB naturally. Teams have holes every season. QB is the most important hole right now. Until it is solved and filled all those other holes aren’t important. Also they can be filled in FA and later draft picks.

Pretty tired of Bridge QBs. Time to get our future QB.
-
Do you really want Sam Darnold a a mentor to our rookie? Hell, no to that.
-
Delusional Darnold fans are always funny because in the end we all know how this will end. Darnold will fail. QBR is a terrible stat and if you look at his stats during those games it is unimpressive. We may of won the Saints game but Darnold was putrid, that is the Darnold we will see if he starts for us next year. Even Reich can’t make a diamond out of poo.
-
Amazing how people still think Darnold is a starter in this league. He is not. He is a backup. He sucks. It was very obvious he made our offense very limited and that Saints game was absolutely putrid. Which Darnold supporters seem to forget. Darnold is done and if this team resigns him after how atrocious he was with us. I have reason to believe that that the Panthers FO is run by morons. Also Darnold was not solid. He was the very definition of a backup QB. Good for 3 or 4 games and then the wheels fall off.

Who I see in my mind when I see the name Jim Bob Cooter:
-
I’d rather have Brissett if we have to go the bridge route. I have see enough of Darnold to know we can’t trust him long enough to have the team in the right spot for the rookie to take over. Likely what will happen is we force the rookie into action too early because Darnold’s expiration date arrived. Darnold, like every backup, HAS an expiration date.

Good for Wilks. Still think he is a mid-tier DC but all that talent should make up for his problem areas.
-
I agree and disagree. As people have said highs were high but lows were really, really low. Never liked his defensive scheme and he was fired not only from Arizona, whose defense was horrible under him and Holcomb, who he wanted as his DC here. But from the University of Missouri and Browns. Both as DC. I think I read somewhere that Missouri’s defense actually got better when Steve left.
-
Tepper isn’t the one who makes the decision on defensive schemes. Also congrats on being negative.

Gonna be great for the one year he is with us.

Maybe. We have no idea. Saying we have less competition right now is misguided when there is a good chance we will have competition next season. Also everyone was saying this years class was good and now look. Same thing will happen next off-season. I guarantee it. It is a vicious cycle.
