He's a prototypical 3-4 OLB. He gets blocked into the bleachers as a 4-3 DE against the run.

Fair play to anyone that can muster the energy to give a fug about this Draft. I'm still not over the trade and selection from last year - that fuged us for years.- 109 replies

Is this 6 seconds after the ball has been snapped when he's missed all of his reads again 'cos he can't see over the OLine?

Found the Gator. -
Wait, you're saying he could get worse!?! Is that even possible?
-
They never intended to be a power rushing scheme. Reich has always run a zone blocking scheme. The fact that he didn't have the OLine to implement it is just another layer to the madness.

Why are we teaching the #1 overall pick, who's had a QB coach since he was big enough to hold a football with one hand, the very basics of throwing?
-
Consensus #1 overall pick needs all-star supporting cast to succeed. More news at 11.
-
Kyler Murray who was drafted 9th overall by the Oakland A's? Short, but certainly not unathletic.
-
Sounds like a 30 for 30.
-
But you literally saw a washed up QB put up 300+ yards, 2TDs and 27 points with the same supporting cast.
-
Unlucky how?
-
I wouldn't mind people narrowing their search to the 3-4 too. Campbell is a 3-4 DE, but Dupree absolutely isn't (for example).
-
That's exactly what a consummate professional like Brady would do. I've no doubt Brees, Manning et al did it too. It's how you retain your edge.
-
He was the QB Coach in Seattle (2018-2019 and 2022). I don't think he's claiming to have reinvented the wheel here - he explicitly states that no matter the QB (experience included) they always go back to basics in the pre-season with their fundamentals. Personally I think the only way Canales succeeds is if he sucked up every possible lesson he could from Pete Carroll.
-
Did you not watch the video package they put together for the segment? Bruuuuuutal.
-
His biggest issue is his lack of athleticism (which includes arm strength)., closely followed by his fundamentals. Consensus #1 overall pick, apparently.

It's never going to happen, but I wish they'd address the elephant in the room. Instead it's all about "trying to build around Bryce". Doomed to fail I fear. -
Athletic projection for #33as of March 21
OldhamA replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Best. Player. Available. Our roster is awful, don't reach for positions. If the BPA at #33 is clearly an OT you take him (I chose OT as the example 'cos we have two highly paid ones and you can't easily shift Ikey inside anymore with our recent FA acquisitions). -
Cos he's bounced around 5 teams in the last 5 years. The sad thing is - he's better than Young.
-
He's not a 'dawg' though. Charmin' soft.
-
Must be an Australian thing. We were always taught "man and ball". You wrap up high to stop the offload.
-
They're super duper worried about injuries - but still don't outlaw turf. Makes sense.
