  1. Yea the one thing I noticed is he mentioned they said he needed to mend relationships he didn't know were broke, so I think there is a little more to it. Hopefully they get it figured out.
  2. I think the answer is easy. Because he doesn't have to. Fans and media think they are due way more in these press conferences than they are. Everything said should pretty much be taken with a grain of salt. You're going to get 99% coach speak and then maybe an occasional slip up.
  3. I think you are never going to get an answer saying a change like that is happening in a Sunday post game press conference.
  4. I get what you're trying to say, but I feel like it's a little different in the NFL. There are players that, no matter how hard they work, or how bad they want it, will never be able to be a good NFL player, in fact most of them. In the NFL the lace up your boot straps mantra only really works when you have enough talent to begin with.
  5. It's because he gets 8 or 9 sacks per season on plays where he's basically left totally unblocked. Like his sack this game.
  6. The worst team in the league won't be picking 10th.
  7. This exactly. These days people refuse to see reality. He has clearly improved if you watch him play. Is it good enough to be the long term qb? Probably not, but it's clearly enough to make the people who are sure he's not the qb answer start to sweat to make useless posts where they refuse to acknowledge that he has clearly improved or make topics immediately after wins to mock his stats. He has looked better. How much better? That's a matter of opinion, but anyone going out of their way to not acknowledge that is delusional.
  8. I used him as an example. It's league wide.
  9. Mahomes isn't even averaging 250 yards passing a game this season. Passing offense is down dramatically this season across the NFL, for lots of reasons. Defenses these days are entirely built around stopping the pass.
  10. I don't think he's it either but the Giants pass defense is pretty good.
  11. This is part of why I've never been sold on him. He's an above average coach but his scheme is always super soft and not aggressive.
  12. I actually think besides a couple games Canales actually has some really good offensive play calls. Some duds too but he's a rookie hc. I can definitely see some good concepts.
  13. To be fair the passing game across the NFL is a lot different this season. He passed for more than 80 yards as well. Passing yards per game has dropped a huge amount on average this year almost league wide. As I type this Caleb Williams is 13/26 for 104 yards and 0 tds with just a couple minutes left in the game.
  14. Yea i happened to see that too. I couldn't help but comment the whole same record thing.
  15. It's only 15m guaranteed so most likely the contract is structured in a way where it basically is a 2 year deal.
  16. He's getting activated today, but they wouldn't say if he will play Sunday or not.
  17. I assume he will be activated but it's kind of weird Dan Morgan was asked about it in his presser a few minutes ago and he said that Canales will answer that in the after practice presser this afternoon.
  18. It used to be that way but now days what team is a regular true super bowl contender year in and out that doesn't have a top 10 qb? You could say Minn i guess but that's just this year.
  19. It's only a penalty if he's first to touch it. If he stays on the field the defender is going to stick with him regardless instead of going to help defend someone else and also he can block if a pass is made.
  20. I'm not sold on him as a #1 pick yet and he's had an easy schedule but if he looks good the rest of the season and shows out in the playoffs then there's no way that he's not a major conversation for #1. It's just going to be hard for me to justify it until he goes against some really good competition
  21. I appreciate your in depth look at it but I think there is a lot of stuff you bring up that he brings on himself. He drops too deep to try to see over the line which creates a lot more pressure on the line. He also has no feel for the pocket and pretty regularly bails on a clean pocket or shifts in a direction that puts more pressure on the line. #1 though no matter how many excuses we want to make for him, he has to stand on his tiptoes to see over nfl lines which makes his throws entirely have to come from his arm and when you factor that's the only place his throwing power can come from with that issue, he's never going to have an arm that's nfl capable. It's as simple as that.
  22. All that said, qb in the NFL is a very hard job. Some guys who were good in college just won't make it in the NFL no matter how much "development" you put in to them. I don't think there will ever be a time in the NFL where 32 teams have a really good qb. If you can't find 32 really good ones in the world then there is a really good chance that a lot of qbs coming from college just won't pan out.
  23. I feel like Bryce has had very few games where he's hit 191 yards passing, and when he did they came in garbage time.
  24. My biggest concern with Legette being able to run a full route tree is his change of direction and quickness. He's very fast running in a straight line once he gets going, but he's not going to get separation on lot of routes that rely on anything besides the straight line speed.
