  1. I haven't followed this conversation, but this right here makes me sick. What a shitty Panthers fan. My biggest complaint about this place is how many non-Panthers fans are allowed to run rampant. Notice when the team is winning, certain people just disappear? It's a whole different crowd. I'm sorry just my opinion, but I think fans of other teams who post here regularly, or people just here to troll, or people who care more about being right then winning should be straight up banned. What a shitty culture this place has. Loser mentality all over this forum. Sad.
  2. Look, as long as their future years to borrow from, then there is always money available for right now. There are unlimited future years so the cap is essentially unlimited. I'm glad our front office has figured that out. You do have to be smart about it or it will catch up to you at some point. It takes about 20+ years to kick it down the road so far that you can't afford to field a team, but if a team handles their borrowing from the future well, it can be done unlimitedly and indefinitely. We are nowhere near the point of where we need start worrying about reduced future cap. I'm in my 40s and it's very possible that it won't be an issue in my lifetime as long as they aren't restructuring everyone on the roster every year and adding voided years to every new contract.
  3. Yeah took the Saints something like 15 years until their cap situation got out of control. Yes every couple decades you have get it back in check with a tear down. By time we get to the point the Saints are in, a lot of y'all old bitchy folks will be dead.
  4. This place is so funny. All this talk about contracts and cap hits like that ish matters. (The salary cap is a myth. It's all about manipulation. Samir looks like he knows how to do that.)
  5. Rhule can talk. He's a natural salesman Yeah put him on tv and he really will have tons of coaching options going forward. Only thing that could spoil that is if players are openly trashing him and which I doubt they will. By all appearances he has not lost the locker room. Those guys were still parroting him in the end of season conferences.
  6. He straight up said he might not get it right the first time. He straight up said this might take a few tries. Sorry, that's brutally honest though.
  7. Not saying be happy. Just saying if you keep the coach, no reason to kneecap him. Might as well fire him at that point and save a year. Don't think that's happening, so I don't think Tepper needs to play around in football operations by dictating what happens on the football side. I'm just against owners having in say so in draft picks, selections, players, etc. Hire and fire - that's as far as the owners extent should be.
  8. So keep the coach but handicap him and set him up for failure. That's dumb AF. If Rhule isn't fired, Tepper isn't putting roadblocks in. That would be entirely counterproductive. Either fire the guy or keep your hands off the football side of the organization.
  9. I generally agree with this sentiment, but look at the Lions with Matthew Stafford or the Texans with Watson. The QB matters tremendously but you also need a minimum level of competence in the coaching and front office as well. With an elite QB, you can skate by with average in the other areas.
  10. Wait I just read a thread on here saying we were going with that RB coach since we did a 2nd interview. Are we getting two OC's or something????? I'm so confused from reading things on this forum!!!!11
  11. How much is guaranteed exactly? Link to source if you don't mind, cause I've been trying to find that info and haven't been able to.
  12. Is there a person in the NFL - coach, GM, or otherwise - that you should take entirely at face value? No. The answer is no. These guys aren't going to be 100% honest. Even within the organization, even players, there are politics at play. Everything in media pressers need to be taken with a grain of salt. Is any of this news to you?
  13. It's more about hit rate (%). The hit rate after the 1st round drops considerably. There are success from later rounds, but if you look at the NFL right now, a huge percent of starting QB's were 1st round picks, 66% by my math. Many of the others are pretty fringe starters (Heinicke, Jimmy G., etc.). So yes, there are successes after the first round, but those you listed currently in the NFL are rare compared to the number of later round failures. Below gives some more numbers. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/qb-success-rate-by-draft-position-2021-nfl-draft
  14. No Rivera wasn't going to get us to where we want to go. You can't get better by staying the same. For better or worse, we had to move on...and on...and on until we find the right guy.
  15. You don't root against your team. You don't celebrate failure. That's not what fans do. But I already knew you and several others aren't real fans anyway.
  16. Who cares about selling tickets and jerseys? Is that what you want as a fan? This thread topic is a bit disgusting. Winning and greatness isn't easy. You usually fail multiple times before you get there, but once you do, it's a lot easier to stay there.
  17. So acting like a 12 year old is ok? You're pathetic bro.
  18. Not really sure why this matters. Even if Rhule is fired this offseason, this thread is irrelevant, imo. wtfc
  19. Did you watch the game? You should go watch the highlights, even just the first 3 minutes. I mean, I get you have a feeling, but prolly should use your eyes instead.
  20. It could also be the read order of the play. Zylstra was open-ish and there may have been hesitation because of how tight the window would be, then the decision to take off. You don't usually skip your first read if that is open. Really, really hard to say what happened here though, and why the ball didn't go out. He had 3 guys open at different points. Did he look to Ian first? I can't tell if he ever looked that far. If so, he didn't give the play enough time to develop, because he was the most open target of the 3 open receivers. Moore was also open and could have been thrown open even more, but Moore was likely the last read and he never got that far.
  21. Cap can be manipulated. Draft picks cannot be very well. So to me, picks>>>>>>>cap.
  22. If they blitz every down we are either going to be destroyed or we'll pick them apart. It's impossible to know with this team. Will the defense get back on track? Will our oline and Cam fall apart vs their blitzes? It really could go either way. On paper we should win this very easily, but we should have won last week fairly easily.
  23. Moore was wide open but I'm not sure what happened. It would have been a real long bomb and idk if Cam thought it was too far or just too late. Either way, timing was completely wrong on that play which is why there was the snafu with Tremble on the sideline.
