Bryce's Achilles Heel Is Not What You Think It Is
Luciu5 replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think people get confused with arm strength vs touch or something. Either way, his arm strength aint the best but it's good enough. He can rocket a short/medium pass into a tight window. He can get the ball downfield 40+ yards no problem. He has thrown plenty of medium/deep out route sideline throws. I have no idea what percentage compared to other QBs, but I feel like he's throwing to the sideline every game. There were multiple sideline throw/catches on Sunday. The fact this is still getting mentioned here is sad. How many times does he have to throw a sideline throw before y'all believe he can throw a sideline throw? What he cannot do? Send the ball 40 yards down the field while falling to the ground getting hit. Yes he's limited compared to some NFL QBs, but not to the level where I would think he's not physically capable of playing NFL football. -
Eh maybe. I'm pretty positive just in general. I don't post a lot here because it's a hostile environment if you try to have any kind of measured take. So it's just not worth contributing here. When I do post, I usually never come back to check replies because I really don't want to hear some of the absolute braindead stuff people here say. Mostly hyperbole and exaggeration, but it doesn't add poo to say stuff like "Bryce can't throw more than 5 yards", which is a common statement made here. Why don't they be honest and say "Bryce can't throw 60 yards down the field." Anyway, it's pretty rare to get any kind of decent conversation here so I'll share my piece every once in a while and not come back to see the poo emojis. I bet there's plenty of people here who read and keep up on things but don't post. Why post when the community is just going to run you off?

Where do you fall on the Bryce Young spectrum?
Luciu5 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has shown he can pull off some high end throws and be clutch in some situations. He has been really inconsistent and turnovers are his biggest issue. I think his turnovers are mostly happenning due to his size and not being able to see the field clearly in a condensed pocket. I think he will be an NFL starter in this league for awhile if he can find the right situation and staff. I am not certain if Canales can be that guy for Bryce, but we have seen some positive signs with this, such as week 18 last year and week 6 this year. I don't put much stock in year 1. It seems like that coaching staff was a mess and I don't know if they just didn't want Bryce, but I get the impression they didn't even try to make it work with him. The tl,dr version of this is simply, I think he has the potential to be a better player than Sam Darnold currently is. I think the most likely scenario is he finds success on another team. -
Something new to argue vehemently about.

Good on him for filtering out garbage time stats. Now we can argue about what constitutes garbage time stats. -
The Bryce Young "Game Winning Drive" narrative needs to end
Luciu5 replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
QB can only do what is asked of him. That said, as long as W/L's are QB stats like the NFL treats them, I don't think it matters what the QB is asked to do on a game winning drive. But I don't agree that wins and losses should be treated like a QB stat like they are, but it is what it is like they say. -
The Bryce Young "Game Winning Drive" narrative needs to end
Luciu5 replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
The narrative is that in game winning drives he is clutch and about 9x out of 10 he is gonna come up with the win. Anything that happened before that clutch final game winning drive is irrelevant to the narrative. The only argument that could be made is that it's a small sample size, which I concede. -
PFF said the fumble was a BIG ding on Rico (the off-script lateral thing they tried). They also said his PBLK really drug him down some. I think they said he has the highest grade as a runner in the NFL or 2nd highest something like that.

Eight of Bryce Young's nine wins have come off game-winning drives
Luciu5 replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would be great if it's 8 of 10 this time next week. -

Why is everyone focused on BY while the real problem is ignored
Luciu5 replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
The internet lacks any nuance. BY actually played good I'd say 90% of his snaps. I went back and watched every play. The 10% that was bad though, was REALLY bad. I'm hard pressed to put blame on him for everything though, like the 2nd int and the time where XL ran the wrong route and it looked like he just sailed the pass. I think I counted 3 or 4 bad throws in the game which were on BY. The fumble is 100% on him. That is like the exact same situation as in the Dallas game last year. Same with the first pick. He didn't see the safety, just like that Atlanta game. There were many passing yards lost due to drops. The Renfrow throw (50/50 Bryce imo but Renfrow had his hands on the ball), Tmac drop, and XL not getting his feet down. Those were all chunk plays. Bryce didn't play bad, just wasn't elite and when he made mistakes, they were colossal mistakes. Honestly, I think we should move on, I don't think he is IT, but too much blame for this game is going his way imo. -
Official Panthers Roster Cuts (Updated)
Luciu5 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was never shocked about Ian Thomas. He was a very good blocker. I think most fans couldn't see that. He's definitely a good vet minimum 3rd TE. He was just overpaid here for his skillset. -
Panthers - "We extended our second best lineman!" Huddle - "Why the fug would you do that?!?!??!?!?"

All-22 Review of the first team offense vs. Houston
Luciu5 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd love for you to do a film break down and do an alternative analysis. If you disagree with Icege's assessment, I think it would be good to have another view. I'd read your thread if you did that. I'd love for you to show us what you saw. -
We traded 1 spot so we have a 5th year option. 1 spot dude. Personally, I get the logic behind wanting the 5th year option on a WR. I don't think hubris has anything to do with it. And it's not like we gave up more than the equivalent of a 7th rounder to move 1 spot. Basically we got a 5th year option on XL for next to nothing. Really not that big of a deal.

Scourton isn't signed (& apparently it's a thing)
Luciu5 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
For anyone in this thread mentioning Tepper, owners, or billionaires, they really have nothing to do with this. More guaranteed money doesn't mean the owners pay more. It just means, if they get cut we get dead cap and someone else gets paid less than they would have if we had the cap space. I think the only way owners can truly save themselves money when it comes to players is either by keeping the team well below the cap, but I don't see any teams operating at the cap minimum. Either that, or offset language if a player gets picked up by someone else. But even then, that just opens more cap to be spent on different players instead. -
Blueprint, Episode 1: Dropping today at 6pm
Luciu5 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It can't be a Burns situation. Tmac is an unknown in the NFL. Burns had what, 4 years of NFL film at the time of the trade offer? Sure you can judge taking the trade or not with 20/20 hindsight. Which I'm sure you will if Tmac isn't all pro this year. I really doubt they turned down 3 first rounders based on the context of this video though. Feels like you are just priming yourself to poo on the team later in the year like you always do. -
I agree with OP. 4 players on a second contract is a really, really good draft. nevermind all the other noise, that's it that's the bottom line for grading a draft imo. 2 starters+ is an above average draft in the NFL. Hate on it all you want, but them the facts. Go look it up.

Anyone Seen the ESPN Projection Guide? *Spoiler* Panthers Suck
Luciu5 replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's odd. They are projecting BY to have 3 rushing TD's in 15 games (really?) and AD to have 0 for a total of 4 rushing TD's by QB's. -
Panthers sign former Rams MLB Christian Rozeboom
Luciu5 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
What? Dude was a rookie last year and is 22. poo I'd keep him till his rookie contract runs out at least. -
Yeah contracts and dollars is probably 100% Brandt with little input from Dan.
