I hear the folks saying play your best yadda yadda but here's the thing. We got shut out of the end zone for an entire half. If you're going to run your Ferrari like that you better be getting more returns than 19 points. Against the worst team in the league at home to boot.

He is on pace for 500 touches which would be most in nfl history a record that has been held by James Wilder since 1984. They just paid one of their top wideouts 37 million dollars. Spread the ball around.

You're taking a moral stand over someone whose family has made billions of dollars exploiting the worst society has to offer to the detriment of the general public and future generations of women. Just stop.

Well damn.

Unless Gonzalez is just comically bad this is going to have to be it you can't have a revolving door all season. At some point this staff has to accept they've made their bed with it until '22.

It's time for the Gano and Butker folks to move on.

We purposely kept ourselves out of the end zone of the worst team in the league for an entire half so we wouldn't give the Saints extra game film?

Jacobs had 306 touches last year through 14 games. McCaffrey had 403 in what was considered his monster season in 2019 and is now on pace for 510 touches if he averages 30 per game like he did on Sunday. If you want to convince yourself other teams force their offense through their RB1 be my guest but find my some examples bc that one isn't it.

Actually the redzone woes were present throughout last season too so that is a trend that has followed us into this year unfortunately and remains a thorn in our side until shown otherwise. Hopefully they show much better results against the Saints.

They'll get the benefit of the doubt when they actually win something in our division.

Of course we disagree that's fine. But what you are missing is Jon Gruden clearly has a different philosophy on the whole. His team had 82 rushing yards total but the Raiders are very plainly a passing team like much of the league. They got their team deep into OT not by running their rb into the ground but by spreading the ball around. Waller was their go to more often than not but they had other skill players they could lean on. Look I try to speak to Panthers fans about this but the emotional connection some of you hold with McCaffrey is too great. It's Cam Newton all over again. We will have plenty of answers this weekend I hope we are victorious.

Actually Darnold was only sacked once and though he was pressured the line was not as bad as we thought it would be. I would say run blocking is a potential issue but that's more of the same. Which is why an emphasis on a dynamic run game may be beneficial to us. We have to trust our young roster that is the second youngest in the league if I'm not mistaken. And there will be some hiccups along the way. But to be scared to play your rookies bc they might make a mistake to me sounds like a Ron Rivera mentality. It's going to be a long season eventually these rooks are going to get playing time and they won't always be perfect but our staff chose them so they have to live with the results

I miss them but the 80's and 90's are gone this is a new era of football and multiple playmakers are what wins championships. The Bucs have a slew of weapons at wide receiver and can you even name all their running backs? If you want to run with the best you have to be able to score at least 20 or 30 points in this league and we got held to 19 by the worst of the bunch. This is not something to celebrate. No offense but we're in for a brutal reality check if the coaches think the way you're talking.

Can't make a true judgement on Santoso for at least two or three more games but I do think we are finally due for just a little stability at the position. Hopefully.

I have not totally given up on Ian Thomas we can still find use for him. But they need chemistry together if I were Sam I would have all the guys out there catching passes as often as possible develop a rapport the lack of reps together in preseason had an effect. Our lone long TD was to Anderson who Darnold has the most history with that is no coincidence. Get on the same page.

I can't argue with that. I just want to defeat the Saints and smug ass Sean Payton. We haven't popped them in the mouth proper in years and them sweeping us and rubbing our noses in it with Ted Ginn still stings. Tbh this weekend is one of the biggest home games I can recall in years. No Brees? We're finally fielding a good defense again? CMC is healthy? We have receiving weapons? This W needs to happen.

Criticism of his on field performance or off the field legal troubles is fair game but this stuff about IQ and crab legs is cringy af.

Let's just hope we don't lose to this guy. When was the last time a Carolina Panthers quarterback threw 5 touchdown passes? It's been awhile. https://www.al.com/sports/2015/12/see_cam_newton_throw_5_touchdo.html

Official New York Jets at Carolina Panthers Gameday Thread!
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
All bluster and back and forth aside I don't think you do we all seek the same thing. We know CMC is one of the top offensive weapons in the league but we also made the decision to extend him to a large contract before we got our oline even halfway built up right and we have made very little effort to locate a correct back to spell him and offer a yin to his yang and this is why we find ourselves in this dilemma. I do not think he is a goal line 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 back he just isn't built for it I don't know how many times we have to see that fail before we understand what works and it's the same maddening thing with a new staff and I say that while making it clear I like Matt Rhule and want him to succeed. As of rn we are far too predictable and struggling in the redzone and that is a carryover from the previous regime we really do not want to see. I fear we made a mistake in only rolling with Chuba behind CMC and thinking we were good but we shall see. We need a guy who can punch it in on those short yardage situations and if it isn't anyone on the roster they're willing to give a chance to like Royce they need to locate him or this season is going to get rough. That's about it.
