There's no need to eviscerate one another over Daniel Jones. The Panthers will do what they do. All I know is Andy Dalton who the powers that be have acted like he had his whole thumb amputated after playing horrifically against the Bears and Commanders or any other over the hill veteran will not be saving us. The remaining options are all less than ideal to say the least but that's where we're at and everyone should just go ahead and make peace with that.

What franchises are in worse shape than the Panthers
frankw replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
People have been saying the Saints are teetering on the edge of catastrophe for years now. I despise them in every sense of the word but I do not expect them to remain down for long. Honestly the same could be said for the Falcons. When Brees and Ryan exited the division we all rejoiced but still those franchises find ways to compete. Until proven otherwise we will remain the worst due to the Tepper's. -
Carolina may not "be sold" on young (per athletic)

Ah yes if someone disagrees with your viewpoint the only possible reason could be hate. From the same poster that spent all of training camp trying to run people off for differing from your POV on Bryce. I've seen hate from this fanbase. When we were actually contending and he was still in his prime some people hated Cam Newton and muttered under their breath when we won. This is not that. We have some of the worst QB play in the entire league amongst all qualified passers not just starters. -
I agree with you. And I say that as a big LaMelo fan. I've been watching the Locked on Hornets take on this and reading some comments and the common thought seems to be doom and gloom about the future and that Charles Lee made a catastrophic decision. But I personally do not understand that take. We've seen LaMelo now with 3 head coaches. He's shown some really good flashes and glimpses of what could be a great player. But there have also been moments of immaturity and for the most part Borrego and Clifford handled him with kid gloves. Now we have a head coach with championship experience. It's time to put his grown man pants on. At some point he has to be able to handle some tough love and if he can't then he is not the guy to lift this franchise to title contention. Hopefully this is a turning point.

Nobody needs to fill in any blanks. I don't think any head coach with a sound mind would be sold on this: 37th in total passing yards 40th in passing yards per game 40th in passing yards per attempt 42nd in passer rating 38th in completion % -
Much like the Panthers this season and next season at minimum are all really just about development for the Hornets. We can't actually compete for anything without viable center play regardless of shot selection from our playmakers. At this point if Charles Lee is the coach we expect him to be then he already knows Mark Williams is not his franchise center. I'm assuming next season we take a big swing at correcting that. In the meantime just let the young guys get their work.

In the short term no upcoming available QB's in free agency are going to do much with this roster. I have basically no expectations for the next few seasons other than more losing. All I know is wherever we go from here Dalton isn't an answer and Young isn't an answer. The QB room needs to be blown up. But it's the Panthers we're talking about here so you know there's a good possibility they pick the wrong guy or guys. It's just what we do.

Is that supposed to be satire? Stroud: 5th in total passing yards 13th in passing yards per game 20th in passing yards per attempt 24th in passer rating 28th in completion % Bryce Young: 37th in total passing yards 40th in passing yards per game 40th in passing yards per attempt 42nd in passer rating 38th in completion % All info per https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player which anyone with a smart device and a functioning brain can locate. -
Well unfortunately nothing to us. But he has been giving to the rest of the league. He's been so bad he was getting opposing defenders all kinds of accolades and salary increases. Now though he's taking back. You can't lose to a Bryce Young led offense and not expect swift ramifications ya know?

I did want us to commit more resources to the offense but I think they swung too hard in one offseason. Now it's going to take another hard swing the other way to get the defense in even halfway decent shape. We're going to know fairly quickly if Morgan is the man to save this franchise. -
Bryce Young giveth. Bryce Young taketh.
-
Ultimately neither are going to help the team around them develop as both have looked like backups at best multiple times this season. As far as development of Bryce Young. Unfortunately playing more isn't going to change his lack of necessary physical traits.

We spent 150 million dollars in free agency to put two massive linemen in front of Bryce to the detriment of the defense and you say "get his dick out your mouth everything ain't about him". Stay mad. -
What do you say boys. Do you think 126 passing yards will be enough for the upset?

At least the team has some fight in them.

There was one poster in particular who pretty much blamed Joe Brady for everything. They must really be enjoying seeing him doing so well now

Other games 11/17, got some good ones today

So. Bryce Young against a pissed off Chiefs team coming off their first loss of the season? -
14-0 Cavs on the road. Already getting blown out lol

Looks like Eberflus is cooked. Sounds like Thomas Brown is getting some shine from the local media in his first game as OC there though. I'll be interested to see how that plays out the rest of the season. It helps to have a QB that actually has physical tools to speak of. -
It always amazes me when someone barrels in and acts like only one player lost that Super Bowl. We had a stacked team. Generational players on both sides of the ball in Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly. Yet it was Kony Ealy that could have been the MVP of the game if he had made just a few more plays and kept his head on straight at the end. But he was one of the few guys that didn't look like a deer in the headlights in the second half. It's hard for some Panthers fans to admit their favorite players from the best Panthers team in history collectively let that one slip away. Ron Rivera damn sure didn't help much either.

Hard to forget those blowout losses against the Bears and Commanders. Call me cynical but barely defeating the Saints and Giants with laughably low passing output isn't convincing. Talk to me after the Chiefs game. I need to see Canales team hang with them at home. If we get the doors blown off let em' have it.
