I never said you or the other guy are stupid. I was referring to the logic. It is rather stupid. Just to make that perfectly clear so there are no hurt feelings. But to be clear if we are wanting to be delicate about use of language then the suggestion that others are not being objective because they are here presenting inconvenient truths about Bryce Young isn't any better. It's just a nicer way of saying people are biased and want the team to be bad which is silly. If we start picking and choosing plays to form a narrative there's no point of dialogue here. I cannot express that enough. If we disagree so be it there is no further left for us to go agree to disagree.

What kind of absurd logic is this? You know you could play this game for any QB ever right? We could even apply this ridiculous logic to many of Cam Newton's best highlights and point out how the defender fuged up so it doesn't actually matter. Do you see how stupid this is? Dalton is G-A-R-B-A-G-E. Both he and Sam Darnold hold the distinction of having one of the ten worst all time single game passer ratings in NFL history. Our #1 pick should be at bare minimum a push by comparison.

So you want to "take away" plays for one QB to fit your narrative but make excuses for the other QB? This is why we cannot have productive discussion about our #1 pick.

Explain why the offense looked so much better and performed the best it has with Andy Dalton? Why wasn't the oline the weapons and the coaching complete garbage from top to botton for that one? That's still our highest scoring game.

Sam Howell has been sacked about twice as much as Young and he's still one of the better passers in the league. We can acknowledge there are extenuating circumstances while also realizing our #1 pick simply has not lived up to expectations either. That's got to change regardless of the oline the receivers or a new staff.

I don't think we would have to worry about him beating Dallas but I do think the offense would once again look fairly different. He would open things up. I mean I keep saying it because it bares repeating. If I told any one of these folks hyping up Bryce Young back in April that we would make it halfway through the season with 1 win and the highest offensive output of the season would be in a loss with Dalton starting I would have been poo'd into oblivion. But people are coping and rationalizing it. Sad.

There is a definite sentiment he is not elevating the team around him and instead has a roster built for a Super Bowl run. He's doing exactly what he did at OSU. I said it before he reminds me A LOT of a young Cam minus the ridiculous rushing ability. But he's got some legs too. I do not know who in the Panthers looked at him and saw a dud. But they deserve to be ridiculed in the streets.

What the hell does a running back have to do with a QB we traded a haul to move up to select? And Cam? His name shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation as the offensive and overall passing output we've been forced to watch the last several weeks. Cope logic like that is why it's impossible to have any real discussion about Young.

This staff needs to go. I want to see what shakes out with a younger offensive mind that actually knows how to develop an offense not built for the 1990's. Bryce is a good kid with with a good head on his shoulders. He's not someone anyone wants to root against. There is still time for him to learn develop and adapt. The issue is the physical traits. That's just not going to change and for a front office built around analytics it's odd anyone with real football knowledge would look at the arm talent disparity between Stroud and Young and say this isn't an issue at all. We'll see how that ultimately plays out but we've done the blame game for weeks now I feel like enough is enough. Our only win of the season was a classic example of not being able to sustain drives and playing for field goals type of Panthers game that many people have complained about for years. For some reason now it's the game cited as Bryce Young's arrival. Really? The rest of our schedule after Dallas is not difficult. There's plenty of opportunities for Bryce to showcase his ability as a passer if it's going to happen. We've already bottomed out entirely. There's nowhere to go but up. There has to be some semblance of progress though circumstances be damned.
