Bryce Young post benching if it were a full season worth of stats.

There is a very wide gap between the two in terms of arm talent. Cam never got his accuracy down until the end. If he had he would be having a different conversation about that. It is what it is. -

Half the team is complete ass so we could afford to put maulers in front of Bryce Young. Nobody is asking for him to carry the team. But next season we have to see him maximize opportunities and not just when things go well but when the chips are down too. -

We had these same discussions even with Cam. When it comes down to it what a QB does with his arm is more important if you want to win a championship. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Bryce running the ball the way he did against Arizona is not even the slightest bit sustainable for reasons that are extremely obvious. -

Why is this all you want to talk about? If we have to surround Bryce with elite talent across the board just to get him to scratch the surface of a Teddy Bridgewater then we keep looking. -

He played well against the Cardinals in what was largely held together by the run game. We got stomped by the Cowboys and Bucs. I can appreciate being a fan wanting to be on the optimistic side but using words like clutch is veering into hopium territory. -
The option is a given. And at this point considering our list of needs going forward you also have to see where he stands on an extension now rather than later.

It took Bryce 10 extra games to surpass Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage from 2019. In a down year for passing offense. -
Kevin O'Connell had only 2 full seasons of work as an offensive coordinator before being hired and one of those was with Washington. He's made a big jump in his third season. I'm hoping to see similar from Canales. As far as Darnold goes it's really going to be interesting to see how he adjusts to the playoff atmosphere. I'm expecting to see some flashes of the old Darnold. The question will be can the new Darnold overcome that when the lights are the brightest.

McCaffrey played in 3 games that season. Of the current receiving group Legette has been really frustrating to say the least but the rest of the group has plenty of potential going forward. But Bryce has one of the best OL's in the league that is also the most expensive too. We have a slew of needs on defense. There will likely be another offensive addition or two down the line but it's going to be up to Bryce to make do with what he's got next season while we rebuild the defensive roster. -

Why combine passing and rushing yards and touchdowns like he's Cam Newton? Well I can already tell it's gonna be a long offseason ahead As far as where he is now visually I think we can all agree he looks like a different QB. But that also requires acknowledging he was literally a bottom 5 passer amongst all active QB's previously. As far as this and hypothetical numbers we could engage in exercises like this all day long and make things fit whichever narrative we seek. Let's take a look at where Teddy would rank if he had his 2020 numbers this season. Teddy Bridgewater would be: 10th in passing yards this season 9th in passing yards per game 8th in yards per attempt 8th in completion percentage The simple fact of the matter is Bryce Young is a first overall pick. No matter what anyone here says or anyone in the media says he and we know the expectations that will be set forth for next season. Low end Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Allen numbers aren't going to cut it regardless of any discussion of supporting cast. The big jump has to happen next season. -
No context or reasoning for the placement. But Bryce Young and Michael Penix Jr have a higher stock than CJ Stroud? We'll see how that take ages.

Those people were and are toolbags. But that's a world of difference from where we are now. To anyone with eyes Cam Newton was from his first snap in the NFL a very special talent at the position and undeniably someone to build around. I don't mean to be rude. But you cannot tell me with a straight face we haven't lowered standards since then. We have. Expectations are incredibly low.

some rando's opinion... Evero *will be* first to be fired

Tell that to Dan Morgan. -
This place is not even scratching the surface of how insufferable broader social media is. Also. The ignore function is for pansies.

4-3 would be the best path but either way we need loads of new talent in here.
-
I have to be honest the constant use of it while ignoring other data makes it seem less significant the more I see it. I mean at the end of the day someone can hang a banner on whatever definition of a big time throw is and Bryce doing well in that but the full reality is it took Byrce about 23 games to Kyle Allen's 13 just to surpass his 3300 passing yards from 2019. And Kyle Allen sucks.

He's shown some definitive flashes of big time plays. But there's a lot of meh in between at times. Then there are things going on beyond his control. All in all we've reached the point where now that he does not look horrific we can only speculate what his ceiling ultimately may be. Franchise QB is a possibility. But elite QB one day? No one can say. But that level of play is where his physical limitations compared to his peers become more pronounced and where it seems like everything has to go right. The elite QB's make things work even when things are not going according to script or when the chips are down. Can he be that? If you don't think he can by mid-season next year then you take another swing on a QB. I don't think it's as complicated as some are making it out to be.

OFFICIAL Panthers vs Buccaneers Game Day Thread
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can agree that was a huge momentum shift and on the road against a division rival with playoffs on the line little things like that can quickly spiral. We really need a damn kicker. -
That picture gets me every time. Like George Costanza with the hairpiece. I agree with you though.

Nah let's leave him in the past no reunions here please it's for the best.

You've been here 4 months you have nothing to admit you were wrong about yet. So going around calling others thin skinned when as far as we know you've been on a milk carton through all the constant musical chairs we've been through with coaching and roster changes just in the last 5 years alone is disingenuous at best. Either way you're clearly thin skinned and a hypocrite. Hope you have a good day too big dog.

You literally pulled up ms word to make a running list if your bullies like a boomer. Clearly you're a wee bit sensitive too bud.

People are right wrong and dead wrong in sports all the time it happens no one has a crystal ball. Again. You digging up past seasons of opinions from yesteryear when you just joined in preseason of this year and conveniently have no past takes of your own to be held to account for is lame at best but you do you.

You were practically ready to fight people in the gameday thread yesterday maybe you need a break.
