The Panthers Have A Strong Social Media Following
Panthers Rhule replied to Butterflyj30's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is the number of twitter follows connected to our social media team? I don't use social media because it sucks but I thought people followed people because they liked them. How does our SM team create more followers exactly? Serious question. Not trying to be a wise guy. I honestly don't know how that works. I do know that we are a lot of peoples "other" team so I thought that was why. -
The Panthers Have A Strong Social Media Following
Panthers Rhule replied to Butterflyj30's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, we benefit from not being hated by fans from most teams. We're actually the "2nd team" for a lot of AFC fans. I know a lot of people who "follow" us as their other team. We're one of the newest teams so there's little bad history with other teams and we've been somewhat competitive for half our existence. We're similar to the AFC's Chargers or Bengals. It's hard to find people who hate one of those teams because why should you? -

Nah mans. Y'all taking the easy road. We're breaking out this season and we'll battle for a Wild Card spot. I'm telling ya. I've seen it.

I say if we're gonna bring hope into this then we should hope for better than Romo and Dak. Brees yes, then I'd also hope for Wilson and super hope for Montana.

I hear a lot of people saying that too but I also don't recall hearing Fitts or Rhule say that exactly. I remember them saying something like he was their target and were looking to move up for him at the end of the 2nd but decided to wait. I'm not sure who they were thinking of trading with so I don't know which pick it was but I think the next QB taken was Ridder in the 3rd. So, that would mean they had him higher than everyone except Pickett for sure. How they compared him to Pickett I don't know. Fitts said they had 2 QBs they would consider at 6 but in which order I have no idea. They also said there was a disagreement over the QBs so most likely they were split on Corral and Pickett at 1 and 2.

Great video. That guy definitely has promotional skills. How could anyone watch that and not feel at least a little bit of excitement.

Panthers eyeing Sean Payton post Rhule?

The New Orleans Saints Bounty Gate Scandal - Bing video I still remember. No thank you. -
Are we back on the fire Rhule train again? Here's a really BOLD prediction. Rhule doesn't get fired this year and we finish above .500.

Really? I did not know that. So, Corral also has the power of Rudy behind him. All the omens are in place for one hell of a career. Hahaha
-
Yes, he did.
-
If Corral is the better QB when the season starts then play him. If he's not, it makes absolutely zero sense to start him just because. The NFL QB graveyard is full of those QBs even when taken in the top 10. Never force a QB. Someone else earlier already pointed out that Montana didn't start until is 3rd season.

2022 Pass Protection Expectations
Panthers Rhule replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
It took until the 2nd post for this to turn into a thread about Darnold which of course inevitably lead to Rhule sucks. 'm sure this OL which be much better than last season's. Actually being a top 10 OL would just be the icing on the cake. Let's hope they live up to expectations. That alone will make us a better team overall. -
Yes, in the sense that both are 6'2", 200 lbs, drafted 3rd round as the 4th QB taken. Both are accurate and cocky. The post clearly states, "Is Corral the next Montana? Probably not." But those are a lot of interesting similarities that many people probably didn't know. But just remember that Montana wasn't supposed to be anything other than a possible starter one day. In 1979, if someone said he was the next Bradshaw no one would believe it but no one is saying Corral is Montana.
-
Of course. It's just for giggles.
-
He was drafted in the first round pick 11. He was supposed to be good. I chose to write this post because of the size and draft position similarities as well as their evaluations and characters. I think that because they are both smaller and drafted 3rd round and both were the 4th qbs taken makes it more interesting.
-
Loved the Jordon Gross part especially. I still don't recognize him until they introduce him.
-
Me neither. I'm cautiously optimistic but I'm waiting before making any judgements but I did notice similarities with Montana and I remembered he was drafted later too. When I double checked I saw that they were almost the same pick and both were the 4th QB taken and they were almost the same size. When I saw that I thought I had to write something up and talk about something new. I hear people talk about Brady and Wilson being the exceptions but nobody ever mentions Montana so I thought it might be something people didn't generally know. It was a long time ago. I remember him but many folks here weren't born yet.

Matt Coral is a 6'2", 212 lb. QB drafted in the 3rd round (pick 94th, 4th QB) by our beloved Carolina Panthers. Most of us will think of another 3rd round QB who did pretty well and has a connection to our super star GM, Mr. Fitty. But some of you may not know that he actually has more in common with another 3rd QB who did pretty well. I'm talking about the Old GOAT, before Brady, no other than Joe Montana. That's right, Joe Montana was a 3rd round pick too. Joe Montana was 6'2", 200 lb. QB taken in 1979 in the 3rd round (pick 82nd, 4th QB) by the 49ers. Scouting Report: Before the 1979 draft, one scouting combine rated Montana a 6½ (out of 9). The report said: "He can thread the needle, but usually goes with his primary receiver and forces the ball to him even when he's in a crowd. He's a gutty, gambling, cocky type. Doesn't have great tools, but could eventually start." Doesn't this sound a lot like someone else we've all heard of? Matt Corral Strengths Natural throwing talent. Accurate to all areas of the field. Aggressive in attacking defenses deep. But the similarities don't stop there. Joe Montana became the Old GOAT because he was the perfect QB to run Walsh's new West Coast Offense. Our OC McAdoo also runs a West Coast Offense. It's been reported that Corral was McAdoo's guy. Does he see a little of Montana in Corral? They are quite similar in many ways. Same size. Both are extremely accurate with quick decision making and releases. Both are confident and willing to throw the ball. Is Matt Corral the next Joe Montana? Probably not. Could he be the perfect QB to run McAdoo's offense? It's quite possible. Maybe he won't be the next Joe Montana but maybe he can be the first Matt Corral and hopefully write a pretty good story for himself and our beloved Carolina Panthers as well.

Correct team structure has started. Now what?
Panthers Rhule replied to lightsout's topic in Carolina Panthers
Didn't we sign 2 LBs to fill the space until we can properly address the positions? Wilson and Littleton? They should at least be better than what we had last season, no? -
I have long believed this to be the case. There's no way Shanahan wanted to trade away that much for Lance. I also think it was supposed to be Jones.
-
Wow, we're much more positive than I expected.

CBS Sports Draft Class Rankings (Panthers #1)
Panthers Rhule replied to XClown1986's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you read what they wrote they explain that this isn't a rating it's just the results of a test they did using a formula based on where the players was drafted compared to where he had them rated. In that comparison the Panthers did very well and killed it. All picks but 4 added value but picks 2, 5, 6 scored big with our last pick scoring the highest. He had him as a 4th and we got him in the 7th. They also add Corral as a late 1st and we got him in the late 3rd. He also says Ikey, while drafted where they had him, filled such a huge need for Carolina that the pic had extra value to the team.
