  1. "WTF is this?", you ask? It's an article with Robbie explaining his outburst. It's also a thread where I replied that it would have been nice to see more effort in attempting to catch the thrown ball. And when I say that, I'm not referring to the game-ending INT. I'm referring to the DROPPED PASS that would've iced the game in favor of the Panthers ( you remember the 3rd down play, don't you?). That's where my ire is aimed at. Now if Sam played well from the get-go, that wouldn't even be a blip on the radar but QBs have bad games and it's up to the Receivers to do whatever it takes to help them.
  2. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson admitted that he was frustrated during Sunday’s 21-18 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but insisted Wednesday that his outburst was out of passion for wanting to help his team win. Anderson’s comments Wednesday was the first time he spoke with media members since Sunday’s game after a Fox camera caught him yelling at position coach Frisman Jackson. Anderson said he meant no harm, and he hopes that the incident shows how passionate he is about winning. “Tom Brady does that and he’s one of the greatest,” Anderson said. “Players get mad; coaches yell at players. It’s nothing I’m ashamed of. ... I think that’s a good thing so the world can see I care. I would hope that that’s how my teammates view it.” Panthers coach Matt Rhule said Monday that he didn’t have a problem with Anderson’s outburst, as long as things didn’t get personal. “It’s a game of emotion,” Rhule said Wednesday. “We all have to play better.” The incident happened after quarterback Sam Darnold threw his third interception of the game Sunday. At the time, the Panthers were driving and trying to score the game-winning touchdown or tie the score with a field goal. Anderson ran a comeback route, and Eagles cornerback Steven Nelson sat on the route and stepped in front of Anderson to pick it off. After the game, Nelson said he knew it was coming because Anderson had been lined up in that formation all game. That’s what Anderson said he was trying to communicate with the coaching staff. He thought he should run a double move to take advantage of Nelson sitting on the route. “I felt we could capitalize off that,” Anderson said. “That was my mindset. I have a very high football IQ. I was brought up under veteran legends, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker. And I study the game, and I study myself. So I know my capabilities, I understand coverages, and I understand football, so it was along those lines.” Anderson hasn’t quite connected with quarterback Sam Darnold this season. He has 12 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown in five games for the Panthers this season. That is tied for fourth on the team. Last season, Anderson led the Panthers with 95 catches, a career high. He also had 1,096 yards receiving. Anderson said he felt his role has changed some this year. He has said some of the routes he’s running are different. But he felt his time would eventually come. “My goal is to help us win,” Anderson said. “So if I don’t touch the ball and we win, it’s fair game. My ultimate goal is to win. I’m a team player. But losing, I’m a sore loser. ... Everybody on this team — we don’t touch the field to lose. So if we lose and I don’t feel like I contributed as much, then I’d be a little frustrated, but that’s the type of player I am.” https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article254984522.html#storylink=readnext If your ultimate goal is to win, then maybe....oh I don't know.....MAKE A BETTER EFFORT AT GOING AFTER THE FOOTBALL WHEN IT'S THROWN CLOSE TO YOU??? I know Sam was not throwing the ball well that game but it takes two to Tango and all that sh-t. (to many Huddlers here : Sorry for rehashing this)
  3. Because he might've gotten phone call from Tepper just prior.
  4. I don't think it's any argument at all. I think it's fact. We were on our way to a very ugly win but a WIN nonetheless. (ST ultimately prevented 4-1)
  5. Have you noticed how Sewell is playing lately? https://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/2021/10/penei-sewell-5/ Slater was the real loss here.
  6. No. We didn't. This issue only arose when CMC got hurt and Sam had to play without him as his safety net. Had he been available against Dallas and the last game, we might (*MIGHT*) have been 5-0. Also, as was already stated, CMC masks so much of the stink of our O-Line, it's not even funny. Basically, with CMC we have a shot at making a run at the playoffs. Without him, we're thinking Draft right now.
  7. Fine. It's not like I knew what he was experiencing at that moment anyway. At least he took the sack and not tried what he did against the Saints at that moment.
  8. According to Bleacher Report, we're looking for OL help
  9. Ran out of reaction-emoji's to give (drat!) but here's a beer for you.
  10. I'm not a fan of Hyperbole. Especially when we don't know for sure what we have in Sam at this point. We'll know by the end of the season, though.
  11. Yeah. Why pay for something that is probably free elsewhere?
  12. Except they weren't coddling him but whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess.
  13. Okay...did not know he's a tall, young monster. Maybe.....JUST MAYBE....
  14. So the Ravens with Lamar Jackson are in QB limbo? So the Cowboys with Dak are in QB limbo? I mean...if we're measuring the ability to win the SB, those two(at least) are lacking that mainly 'cause they haven't even been able to get there.
  15. That's also true. None of us have played QB in the NFL so we don't know what he's facing at ground level. I'm just saying what i see from the tape. For all we know, an attempted pass could've been tipped and Intercepted or a fumble would've occurred... I know that. I've already stated that we had not only 3 timeouts but the 2 minute warning. It was a bad decision on Sam's part. It's like he made up his mind to throw to Robbie NO. MATTER. WHAT. sigh....
  16. Fair point but pause at 0:04 and one can make the argument that he could've quickly tossed it to DJ Moore running across. Still, though....Look at Paradis who was guarding no one and did not even bother to help out against Hargrave. Woof! No wonder Paradis got a "B"....it's because others were doing more terribly than he was.
  17. Yes. Starting from '97 all the way to last season. It was a long hard road with a few UP's but plenty of downs.
  18. I can get behind the OP's Positivity. Do I think it will happen? I don't know. But the old adage still applies : "ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY" So we'll see. *crosses fingers*
  19. Sam has proven to be more athletic and mobile than he's being given credit for.
  20. Guess I'm not a true one then. How about a Half-True one? But in all seriousness, I was a Jets fan for 23 years. After awhile, "misery" just isn't fun anymore.
  21. Well I do have 23 years of Experience. Old habits die hard.
  22. Actually, Chuba was also open but if he threw to him, it would've been 5 yards he would've gained and then tackled. Whereas with even as slow and unreliable as Ian is, at the very least Ian catches the ball and gets most of the yardage (lost via penalty) back to where the team is in 2nd and manageable with the 2 minute warning(and all 3 timeouts). And I don't get why you're assuming what would happen had he thrown to Thomas(incomplete pass? To a wide-open receiver?)...But I still would say it would've been the wiser move than forcing it into triple coverage.
