Yup, I'm just hoping it's a tough decision when the 53 man cut down happens. All still hypothetical obviously since we don't know if we're drafting 3rd or 10th and if PJ is gonna keep playing well or not
-
He did, but Baker and Sam also had their worst seasons under Rhule, so that's why I think he should at least get a full offseason with actual NFL coaching. Baker will probably play again at some point so it will be interesting to see what he looks like with Rhule out of the building, not that I want Baker back but more of a coaching study

Yeah that's the reality. Hooker could be Geno/Brissett in a couple years. Still a good deal for him, backup QB in the NFL for the next 6-8 years. He just has that level headed maturity thing but can actually sling it if asked. It's like Teddy with a stronger arm and can actually scramble or QB sneak
-
So we have PJ/Minshew whoever vet. Corral looks good in preseason, and we draft a guy. Unless they trade Corral to another team I can't see how you can cut one and hope they get to the practice squad and stay there. Minshew would be signed off a practice squad 12 months ago, PJ is starting to get there if he keeps up his current play
-
I like him but I was thinking of a day 2 guy that could maybe win the job but definitely be a 5-6 year solid backup. Maybe not even for us since we need a vet and to give Corral another training camp and preseason. We're in murky waters and might have to keep some combination of 3 QB's again next year because we need the options and can't risk leaving one on practice squad to get poached

I just caught last drive/OT but you think this was better than Bama/Tennessee?
-
Richardson's teammates actually got in his way a couple of times today from what I could tell while I was bartending happy hour/watching when I could
-
I think he thought I was including Richardson in the passer/decision maker comment. That was replying to the previous Bryce comment, then I added Richardson as the only other guy that seems to be lifting their team up currently
-
I replied to a post about Bryce Young for the passer/decision maker comment. Then added Richardson as the difference maker for his team (2 passing TD's 2 rushing TD's, no Int's today)
-
He's definitely the best thrower/decision maker of the class. Overall the QB narrative for this year hasn't panned out at all though. Especially with some of these guys opportunities, no one seems like they can take over a game. Richardson is probably the closest to being an obvious difference maker for their team aside from Young just being solid but undersized
-
They just blitzed with no safeties from what I saw. Just turned it on though
-
Just turned the Bama game on. So they're trying to get a field goal?
-
Yeah I'm seeing a lot of guys I'd like to take shots at in mid 1st-late 2nd than any sure fire game changer in the top ten. Problem is most other teams are gonna think the same and not trade up. I think the 2021 draft with Lance and Fields is probably turning teams off from getting too excited about prospects. There was some weird trades last year but I don't remember anything like selling the farm to get into the top 10. The Philly/Saints trade was the weirdest and that was mid 1st round
-
I haven't caught any of Bryce Young but yeah rough day for the draft QB's. At this point if we're 3 I'd take Will Anderson and then maybe keep an eye on Anthony Richardson for pick 2 if he's there. Either way I think we'll have to stick with 3 qb's through last cuts at the least. None of these guys are showing we should just dump Corral off especially when he's technically costing us a 3rd this year. Not sure if he's worth trading away either, he's had a good attitude to the whole fuged situation he was put in so that's worth something

ProFootballFocus Mock Draft has Carolina Picking at 3 - Will Levis
Jackie Lee replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll take Anthony Richardson without our 2nd if he's around if we're talking about development. Worst case scenario he's a short yardage QB his first year -

Here's some first half reports for today -
Yeah, at least our line is decent now. I'm imagining him behind a Bears/Bengals line and the imagery is not good
-
Imagine Stroud playing on the current Bears team instead of Fields for reference. That would be ugly
-
He's not the "Put the team on your back/Gamer" dude that's so highly sought after. I liked Fields a lot more at this point than what I've seen out of him as far as OSU guys
-
Yeah he's no PJ when it comes to slinging it but he's less turnover prone. I guess that's what gets all these backup guys lumped together, one little thing missing here or there that they usually can't overcome

I like him but he will probably end up in that backup Geno role and be good at it. -

Also we've pretty much seen enough of the college football season to start ranking these guys. Today for instance, if Levis can't do something against Missouri who seem about as mid as you can get, then he's gonna start falling off these top 3 lists. Hendon Hooker is playing Georgia, that'll be another good chance for him to shoot up boards even though they're aren't dominant as they were talent wise last year -

I'll go with PFN https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2023-nfl-mock-draft-pfn-mds-week-10-2022/ 3) Carolina Panthers: Will Anderson Jr., EDGE, Alabama With the top two quarterbacks off the board, Panthers fans look to bolster their defense. After keeping Brian Burns through the trade deadline, they add Will Anderson Jr. in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft. An absolute game-changer, Anderson could be an instant impact player for Carolina. Anderson may not have as much of an impact as a quarterback, but he’s a player that can make offensive coordinators rethink their plan of attack. Like his teammate above, he’s most likely ready to prove that his team is still a playoff contender. I can only imagine how terrifying that will look.- 75 replies
