  1. Hidden in all the hype and bells and whistles, I dont think enough attention is put on how this could also help our dreaded short yardage 4th and 1 short comings. We never realized it was a problem until he wasn't on the team anymore. During his tenure we had one of the highest 4th and short conversion ratios in the league. I think it will be nice not to have to hold my breath on 4th and short hoping brady calls a tightend reverse or something cute for us to get a yard.
  2. Define the answer? Qb1 for the next 10 years? Probably not... can he be for the next 2-3 years to get us out if this no draft picks saga. Sure.
  3. Same thing it ment for kapernick..the best players available isn't the one that always gets the call. Lot of moving parts going on we aren't privey 2.
  4. No. He looks fine in a bill belicheck lead offense. Not this we have 1 decent lineman scheme we have. He would get eaten alive and David carred before season end.
  5. Even factoring all that in giving up points is a team statistic.. that has to do with stopping the run rushing the passer and secondary. I'm just trying to debate I guess on the talent perspective. Talent wise I don't think we Hve ever fielded what 3-4 guys drafted first round(Jackson second). On paper these guys have the chops to run with anybody.
  6. Well matching that Gilmore= corner that won 2019 defensive player of the year AJ bouye= former pro bowler(that's great right?) Jackson( he's a number 1/2 at worst gonna get paid) Horn( looks the part could be as good as anyone on this list) Henderson( top 10 pick last year atleast gotta be serviceable) Taylor (has been showing up a lot I'm impressed making splash plays) Chinn ( Chinn is just a good player haven't seen any if many mistakes) Burris/Franklin/ Hartsfield( guys show up every now and then but get hurt I think they are better than what we had during Ron era)
  7. I was going for a by talent measurement not the actual weekly rankings which could change for various reasons, injuries pass rush and so on. But on paper the depth at corner is night and day as to what it use to be or even at the start of the season. A weakness turning to a strength.
  8. Well we just added Gilmore to the mix seeing him for the first time not sure stats will reflect it yet. Not to mention 2 of the guys I mentioned are injured.
  9. I mean we all know the offense is a train wreck.. which on paper at the start of the year it was omg weapons everywhere hyped. I was just speaking on defense.
  10. saying I don't think we have ever had these options at corner... At best we had who Chris gamble? And lower teir guys. . Gilmore has won defensive player of the year. Jackson is a legit corner he gonna get paid this off-season.Bouye has been to a pro bowl. He's had teaming calling for a trade last week since we was losing. Horn looked like a cornerback 1 when he was healthy.. I mean Henderson hasn't been healthy so I m gonna leave a * by his name. Even the you guy the rookie Taylor has made a few plays... not to mention Chinn... what say you.. .
  11. I mean this only works vs bad teams that cant stop the run... Not like Hubbard has much wiggle or anything to him to make the difference. Then at some point you have to be able to pass. I think this wont work vs the bucs or so. Atlanta has never had a Defensive first priority. But Props are in order for making these guys look decent no sacks allowed.
  12. Debate isn't about the issue... we know what the issue is. This is just something else to discuss besides Sam darnold and our offensive line woes.
  13. Thread derailed by Herbert enthusiasts...you understand the assignment sir.
  14. Not sure reddick is like Simmons as Simmons can play safety and cover... reddick is mostly a pass rusher..
  15. Herbert wasn't available to us so it's kinda irrelevant...
  16. Can't disagree with your logic there... touche snake.... carry on..
  17. Just because the game is on I thought I would spark up an age old debate. I like to think most people wanted Brown but Simmons had a lot of support. I like to think it was 60/40 split. I was in the Simmons camp, I will concede Brown has been pretty solid. A force in the run game and will occasionally get those coverage sacks. Simmons started off very slow wit h a staff that had no idea what to do with him but he turned it on late. Has proven to be a versatile chess piece whom many said we got the poor man's Simmons in Chinn(they booth look equal to me) so hindsight and all who would you rather have? Yes I know Chinn makes it look like we made the right decision but also Simmons plays more like a linebacker rusher than Chinn who plays more safety coverage lb specialist. They are both chess pieces but not in the exact same mold. Have at it.
  18. I personally think Tua would be a upgrade. I have no idea why Miami has been ready to trash him since his second year. Is he injury prone? Yes probably but when he's on the field he's better than darnold. I would poke my nose in there to see what they want for him.
  19. As bad as we know Sam is.... pj was as bad if not worse 3-14 passing and countless I'm scrambling but tripped up sacks.
  20. Erving i can live with... pardis... elf and miller....
  21. so this loves football is where im curious... I have seen reports he was considering retiring and didnt love football. Also that the coaches had to go to his house and get him. I mean that doesnt mean his mind cant be changed...but there is a reason a team gave up on a top 10 pick after a year.
  22. I wouldn't say this team is far off from it in the individual talents area... name a more individually talented team.. and still it's early
