  1. I think it's about 50/50 whether this is an actual injury or a smokescreen of some sort to give them no excuse to sit him. I don't think they would do it, but we got no indication during the game or post game that Bryce had sustained an injury, so it's a bit suspect for an ankle to be an issue two days later. Maybe third option, smoke screen for Seattle so they spend at least a bit of time watching some Dalton film? That seems like the most unlikely scenario to me.
  2. That's because most quarterbacks are of prototypical size and can run the sneak just fine. When NO picked up Hill they had Breese, who you don't want running sneaks. If your QB is Jalen Hurts you don't need to sub him out. We didn't draft Jalen Hurts though. When we drafted young we should have signed some sort of backup running QB or at least a power running back, this team has neither and so now our options for 4th and 1 are just trick plays, which is a disaster.
  3. I don't think it's dumb at all, look at the team that beat us tonight. Did Derrick Carr run any QB sneaks? No, they put Taysom Hill in there and ran for multiple first downs despite the entire stadium knowing he wasn't throwing the ball. The real question is why we don't have someone like Hill to sub in on 3rd or 4th and 1
  4. Got home, told my wife I'm exhausted but I'm going. "Why are you going if you don't feel well?" "The team needs me" Keep Pounding
  5. I have been waiting on this game for months and wound up getting sick over the weekend. Fighting to get through the day at work but starting to feel like if I try to stay out at this game all night I'm gonna wake up horribly sick tomorrow....but it's Bryce's first game I don't wanna miss it!
  6. Even if they can get the injury risk evened out I would still prefer natural grass. It's called a football field, it should be an actual field of grass. Football is a game played outdoors in the elements, and dirt has always been a part of that. And in our case that dirt came from every county across the two Carolinas, when the team said defend our dirt it wasn't just a metaphor. What do we say now, protect our petroleum?
  7. This is all about whether he plays on Sunday or not. If he holds out of practice but shows up to play I won't bat an eye. If he doesn't show up to play then I'm gonna feel really stupid sitting in yet another away game atmosphere vs the Cowboys and Packers when I could have tripped my ticket value by selling. If the players can't be bothered to try and win the division why am I spending all this money to show up and scream for 4 quarters on defense surrounded by opposing fans?
  8. There's no way he actually sits out of a game right? That would be crazy? If he actually sits out the falcons game the entire season is basically tanked, we absolutely HAVE to win divisional games to stay relevant this year. All the money I've spent on another year of season tickets thrown away again. If he doesn't play and we're 0-1 I'm making a trade Brian Burns sign for MNF. Don't care if all you get is a 7th at that point, I don't want a guy willing to tank the whole teams season.
  9. I have never been sitting in our stadium and thought "gee it sure is nice of all these opposing fans to be spending money in our stadium, don't they realize that helps us" It's not about the money, it's about sending a message.
  10. It's saints for me just because they were more consistently good over the past 15 or so years, and because their fans are gigantic ignoramuses. I've had Atlanta fans sit near me and we can keep the hostilities down but as soon as those mouth breathers from the bayou start shouting "who dat!" I'm over them.
  11. retractable roof stadiums are just domes in practice. Oh you wanna open it up when it's nice outside? What's the point? It's nice inside too, all you're getting is a little extra vitamin D. Unless they open it up during a rain storm when new orleans comes to town I want absolutely no part of even a retractable roof. If you're scared of a little rain/heat/or cold then watch on TV, I want to be out in the elements yelling and screaming like a madman.
  12. It's also to pay for a new practice facility, hopefully that eats up enough of the budget that we don't try to put a dome on the stadium. Some of my favorite games have come in the elements, and two of our division rivals are dome teams. The elements have played to our advantage vs teams like the saints on several occasions, most memorably the monsoon game in 2013 which is one of my all time favorite games I've ever attended (and I've been to every home game since that season and many many prior). Football is a game meant for the outdoors, and the elements make it even more fun for me and more difficult for our opponents. Keep the stadium open air!
  13. As long as my PSL's don't become worthless because of a new stadium and they don't put a dome on the current stadium I don't care.
  14. I think it's highly unlikely we traded back up into the first round with the amount of draft capital we have left. We have no 1sr next year and are low on picks this year after trading up to 1sr overall. Any trade into the first round likely means we're trading a player, which I guess could happen. I think it's way more likely they trade back from 39 to pick up another pick in the top 100
  15. Ooh good info, we need a fast deep threat guy to keep the field stretched so Thielen can make those possession catches and TMJ can get 1 on 1 on the outside. I feel like Byrd is a bit old for a speed guy but I watched him run past our entire defense like they were standing still vs Atlanta last year, so he still appears plenty fast. Would assume he won't cost much either.
  16. Should we be interested in Damiere Byrd at all? He was on a one year deal with the Falcons last year. He burned us pretty good in the game in ATL but didn't have a big season stats wise. Could we pick him up for cheap to have a speed guy on the outside? Obviously he's no WR 1 but we may be going WR by committee this year.
  17. Always wanted Pinion as our punter, I played rec league soccer with him and his brother as a middle school kid in cabarrus county.
  18. I'd feel way better about either Levis or AR now that we're putting together a staff that can actually develop QB's. It might be a blessing that we never drafted one with the last regime.
  19. Hey guys, I figured this might be a good place to ask about getting stains out of jerseys. My Luke jersey had these stains on the sown on numbers. I've tried scrubbing with soapy water and spraying with stain remover before washing and i can't get them out. Does anyone have suggestions?
  20. Dang it I thought I was gonna be the first to point out he brought music to our town for the first time ever! What a plus! I also do not view the soccer team as a plus at all. We are sharing our stadium with them like some sort of step sibling. I can't stand the fact that our stadium is only halfway Panthers branded, it's disrespectful to the football team. FC needs their own place.
  21. I hate Tom as much as anyone, and he's not what he used to be, but he would instantly be the best QB that's played for this team since Cams shoulder injury. Keep In mind at one point this season our starting QB was ranked 33rd in the league, a team had two QB's outperforming Baker. Tom just being average is a massive improvement.
  22. They should add to it that the field should be fully restored with soil from each county in the Carolinas as it was originally built.
  23. Are we seriously considering someone from the Belichick coaching tree or is that just to satisfy the rule? I know you can't write off every person who's worked under Bill, but the track record looks waaaaayyyy worse than even Rivera's tree.
  24. Haha, big middle finger to you from across the Catawba buddy And don't point fingers at Herschel and Wayne Bobby when you're the one with the Ricky bobby "if you ain't first your last" mentality So I'm sorry that for the first time in years the PSL's i pay for year in and year out actually yielded experiences that weren't exercises in masochism. And for the extra wear and tear I added to my seat getting loud on defense to try and help get stops, clearly I'm responsible for us not having the No1 overall pick.
