Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table
rmoneyg35 replied to CubsWin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just got the alert on my phone. I would be pretty disappointed if we don't sign him after hyping him up yesterday. He has a solid chance of being a starter and he won't cost much. I'm thinking maybe Gettleman is trying to save some money by waiting to sign him and Ball wants to wait to see if he gets a better offer. -
So Whatever Happened to That DB We Drafted from WV?
rmoneyg35 replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Murder! Fifteen yard penalty automatic first down. -
With Crabtree gone now we will only be down to two other big name wide receivers to make threads about signing which would be Nicks and Jennings.

For those who are against drafting Gurley in the first because of injuries then look no further than Willis McGahee who had a great rookie season, lasted from 2004-2013(10 seasons), and had 1199 yards in 2011 which was his eighth year in the league. Now I'm not trying to say we should draft Gurley but we shouldn't overlook him because of injuries.

As long as the falcons don't have a tight end like Gonzo I'm not worried.

Here's a good article on him. It says he was ranked 10th in coverage corners in 2013 http://blackandbluereview.com/get-to-know-cornerback-alan-ball/ -
I always hear packers fans diss on the Vikings for always signing their old players.

Every team misses on players in the draft. What matters is what you find in later rounds and UDFA. 1st and 2nd rounds are usually safe picks where you have a high chance of drafting a good player where as latter rounds when the better players are gone is a gamble. You could say Gettleman has done a great job at finding UDFA. Corey Brown, Robert Lester, Wes Horton, Melvin White and Andrew Norwell have contributed in one way or another.

Still a free agent. The Packers are expected to resign him but I read the Patriots are interested in signing him. I believe he is having tricep rehab so maybe teams are waiting until he heals up.

Devin McCourty would disagree. Personally I thought they did a good job with their secondary. Maybe not a bunch of pro bowlers but they usually draft solid corners and safety's. Logan Ryan, Patrick Chung, Dennard, Arrington and Harmon are pretty decent players.

Yes Bene got beat but I believe the safety was out of position as well. The throw was perfect and couldn't of been defended. If you can stop the player from catching the ball speed won't matter. -

I hope so. If Kurt isn't a starter I could see him be a rotational player that gets plenty of snaps. He did it well with the Chiefs last season. He is only 26 so maybe this year could be his best. -

True, I don't know about special teams though. It's the simple fact that he does have experience, not that he can do it well. Crazy injuries could happen and we need someone to step up to play safety where he could fill in until the end of the game. It also shows that he's willing to do things for the team by changing positions. -
Indeed. Chad Jackson was a major bust for the Pats. They haven't had much luck drafting WRs but when it comes to defense, tight ends and offensive linementhey are pretty solid.

Cornerbacks in the draft & where they stack up

Still wouldn't mind drafting a mid round CB. -

When first hearing about Alan Ball the CB I thought it may have been a different player than the former safety of Dallas but it's the same guy. I don't believe he will play safety for us but it's good to know he has experience at other positions and can play special teams. I wonder if we automatically put Bene in the Slot or if we have Bene and Ball compete for the #2 corner spot? -
What? No way she is my girl friend so how is that even possible?

Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table

We have tall receivers in our division so this could help us. I'm not going to say he will start because I'm not sure but competition will be nice to have at the CB position. Since Gus Bradley is from Seattle maybe Ball learned some new things from him to get better. Jacksonville has some young CB prospects that have promise so the reason why he isn't with Jacksonville isn't because he sucks but because they have young talent. -

He's 6'2. Only played 7 games this year. Last year had 14 passes defended and 2 interceptions. -

Anyone has pff info on him? I do feel better now that we signed a CB other than Teddy Williams. -

Todd Gurley to visit with the Panthers
rmoneyg35 replied to TylerVagyler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I couldn't help but wonder if Gurley was BPA at 25, would Gettleman draft a RB in round one? We also looked at Coleman. Maybe we are just doing our due diligence but I wouldn't be surprised if we draft a RB in the first 4 rounds. -
Hardy to choose between Cowboys and Bucs
rmoneyg35 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I read on B/R that a player said Greg Hardy was "Unmanageable" at times. Of course dirt always comes out when a player leaves an organization. -
"Why the 49ers should move all in for Luke Kuechly in 2016"
rmoneyg35 replied to Moorgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If there was a stud MLB in the upcoming draft to replace Luke then I wouldn't mind us doing the trade. I don't know if we can get 3 first round picks but we could probably get two 1st round picks and some mid round picks. I love Luke but if we get a offer for him that includes multiple first round picks we would be dumb to turn that down. After all what has more value, Luke or two first round draft picks? With two first round picks you take a chance but more than likely will end up with two solid players.
