I will say this, the fact that Payton didn't just jump on the Denver job, makes me wonder. When we got Rhule, I think he had more interviews but they hammered out a deal. I think he does have legit interest in coming to Carolina but who knows. I really have no problem with any of Sean, Shane or Wilks being the coach. As long as the personel for each coach to succeed is pushed.

Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now

That detailed thinking but the 1 caveat, is its not just about Sean. Do the Broncos have any worthwhile capital to make a trade? -

I'm cool with Ben too but not hating on Payton. I will also add, if someone knows how to manipulate the cap... its Payton. Lol -

I just saw where Payton says the compensation is a mid to Late 1st round pick. -

You brought up a very valid point! I swear pick 9 would need to be off limits. I'd assume it would be a package of 2nds or future stuff. Regardless.... Im leary to hear the details of it. -
Bro, It was on my post... I barely post. My bad if it wasn't meant for me but I was just stating if so. I'm man enough to say my bad but I do know it's a bunch of back n forth on here. I don't usually do much at all.

Definitely out of left field but I'd think that it actually helps the Saints. It'd held them get more leverage in trades to the other teams being that we'd have to offer different compensation. This would force the others to up the offer. I will say tho, Sean Payton was always vocal on how he liked our team during the shows he was on.

No issues at all lol. Trust me... I overlook stuff as well!

Well its Panthers related and I tried to look into any connections and missed it. You could of easily stayed away from the post but apparently you felt the need to come here. Its a Panthers forum....which is made for conversations related to the Panthers. I was tending to my kids and saw this come across, checked the board and didn't see it mentioned.... hence COULD THIS BE A SIGN

Didn't notice that at all!!!
-
@NYPantherFan just linked him to Dorsey.
-
Definitely something to keep an eye on. I'm not the biggest Dorsey fan out of the selections but don't hate him.

The more I think about it, the more it is definitely pointing away from Wilks. I'd assume Wilks would want to keep Holcomb as DC, so you are on to something. We just interviewed Shane yesterday virtually but it seems steam is picking up between him and Ben Johnson.
-
I forgot about that!!
-
This says for a Coordinator position. Therfore it doesn't qualify for the Rooney Rule. This is pointing towards a staff that someone wants assembled.
-
Looking at this, it seems that we may have narrowed it down and looking at whoever wanted this guy as a DC. They seem to be vetting it out, to get a good feel on if it(staff the coach likes) makes sense.
-
Looks like Trey Lance has lost the job and name can be added to the Qb carousel. Purdy is not messing around.
-
I just read where he interviewed for Clevelands Defensive Coordinator job, so I'm guessing that's why New England gave more money. Beli definitely runs things away from the norm.
-
Cool!! He definitely is egotistical and uncanny in his ways!!
-
I definitely see your logic and feel the same!! I don't know if there are any ties that Wilks has with the said candidates but it does all really depend on the moving parts in the other coaching vacancies.
-
Trust me I understand!! I definitely would stay with my guy but then again, it could be looking at potential of the team. If Steichen goes to the Broncos(just an example) and it flames out vs having to play Mahomes n Herbert etc. This head coaching opportunity is honestly a gem when you look at the division. No bias at all... just looking at which opportunity could boost ya resume faster and looking at a possible Brady departure, Dalton and Ridder, has to be paramount to a guys outlook.
-
It's been mentioned that both names have been linked to the possible interview that Wilks had. I'm not just throwing names out there. I had to research them after reading articles about them possibly being part of his pitch to Tepper.
-
Brian Johnson is a Qb coach(Eagles)... so offensive coordinator is not a lateral move and Mayo is the linebackers coach for the Patriots. Moving up to Coordinator would be an upgrade to both.
-
To me... I see Mayo and Brian Johnson as being interviewed to be on Wilks staff. Seems they are vetting out not just Head coach candidates but people that Wilks mentioned in his interview for his staff.
