  1. Still boggles my mind that people couldn’t see how good that deal was. We laid out all the picks and cap savings and still some people said they’d rather have Burns. SMH. Burns or Hunt + Lewis for the same cost/cap, Avila (G Rams took, probably don't sign Lewis), Verse (DE Rams took) and of course their 2025 1st (tankathon has Shavon Revel Jr CB). Still amazes me how much people overrate our players. Franchise changing trade we declined to get a complimentary RB for Chuba.
  2. If Dan and Souleman both disagreed, they might have turned Fitterer.
  3. Sorry, but it’s been reported by Person that Dan was in agreement of passing on the trade. Souleman was the only dissenting voice, likely because no soon to be $30M non-QB ever gets that much. Even the awful GM Bill O’Brien paid less for Tunsil than what we turned down for Burns because the Texans got two picks back.
  4. Yep. I’m happy he isn’t Mingo/TMJ level but the body catching has to stop. I’m not going to die on the drop stats but we wouldn’t be talking about his hands if it hasn’t been noticeable.
  5. Kudos to Morgan? I’d give him kudos if he didn’t agree with Fitterer to not trade him to the Rams. He made lemonade from the lemon, but we were offered filet mignon.
  6. Not this year. LB is crazy high unless you can guarantee he’s exactly like Kuechly which is impossible. Also, edge rusher is a no go in this draft. There are some DT/CBs that could go that high but there is no one close to a Bosa, Garrett, Hutchinson, etc. If I had a hope, it would be somehow lucking into Travis Hunter to play CB and use occasionally on offense. Graham at DE opposite Brown could be fun as well. He's the only DL I’ve seen consistently at the top of the rankings. CBS had him 3rd preseason and 4th mid season so he’s been consistently at the top, which is nice to see. He also just turned 21 in September, which I’m a fan of rather than picking so many older rookies that still have to develop.
  7. They can, but Legette has had more drops than 4 IMHO. I’m assuming they aren’t labeling “tougher” catches like today’s miss as a drop. IMHO, a first round WR needs to make that catch. That’s what makes someone a top WR, making tough catches in key moments.
  8. His drop today went right through his hands. The defender was there but only Legette had a chance at the ball. There was no contest, it was a perfectly thrown ball.
  9. Sorry, but these seem suspect. It feels like he’s had at least 4 just in Young’s recent starts. Just like today, we’ve overcome them but 4 for this season seems low. I don’t think there would have been a thread on his drops if he was just average. Luckily for us, we got a 1st on 4th down because Legette’s drop could have been a game losing drop.
  10. Agree. I was really impressed with Young. First time I felt like he was possibly good enough. The Thielen PI in the end zone was a solid pass and the drop by Legette was a perfect pass. He was on point today, more accurate than I ever recall before. Heck, he was even making decent decisions when no one was open. Sucked to lose but damn fun game to watch, especially the drive to tie it.
  11. I don’t think starting rookies = tank per se. We’ve been starting lots of rookies every year since Rhule started. That’s been more of an indictment of how bad our talent pool has gotten. Trading Burns, Diontae, Mingo (lol) and just finally being sellers by not giving up our talent for a crappy QB is more tanking. Hopefully, we don’t somehow screw it up because damn if there aren’t a poo ton of bad teams this year. Last year we got the number 1 pick, which wasn’t ours anyway, by 2 games. 2nd worst team had 4 wins. There might be 6-7 teams with 3 or less wins this year.
  12. That order is wrong. That’s based on standings, not on SOS (lower the better). We are 8th right now on Tankathon but the bye weeks mess it up a bit. We have the 2nd lowest SOS among the 3 win teams so we are basically 6th if we don’t win again. It will be tonight to get by NE who has 3 wins with a lower SOS and a tough schedule. The nice thing is that the four 2 win teams play a bunch of games with each other. Jax plays Tennessee twice and Jax also plays both the Raiders and the Giants. The Giants also play Dallas. Only Jax has a lower SOS so it would benefit us if Jax loses out. We’d then likely be 3rd unless NE squeezes one out maybe Buffalo week 18 will rest starters. If we can stay at 3 wins, doable aside from the Cowboys, we will have a good pick. It would be nice if we can hop over the Giants and Raiders. I’m not a huge fan of this year’s QBs so it would be nice to stock some more picks for a trade up.
  13. Wow, Cleveland was actually one of the 2 win teams that I didn’t think we could get by draft wise because they didn’t have any bad teams left. When we lose to KC we’ll be at 6.
  14. Has there been a single kick after the snowing? I’ve only seen going for two. Just wondering why they didn’t kneel and kick the 20 yarder. I’m assuming that’s so close that it would be very to make.
  15. You couldn’t see it by Winston got hit way after he released the ball with no flag. I certainly didn't hear the announcers explain exactly why it was an egregious roughing the passer call.
  16. Who do you have to pay to be one of those select teams that gets a TD every game because of the refs? I wish we were one of those teams back when we were a playoff team.
  17. Not when the refs continue to gift them 1st downs. That roughing the passer was iffy at best and the drive would have been over. 1st and goal play loses yardage, let’s call unsportsmanlike penalty and 1st and goal at the 3.
  18. I would suggest checking now and then not looking again until week 1 next year.
  19. But they look like they may have found a QB and all of a sudden they are in games against the Rams and beat up the Bears who throttled us 36-10. Having a QB that can win you games makes a huge difference than a QB who’s being protected from making multiple red zone interceptions like Daniel Jones.
  20. I agree. Take the Giants, for example. There was a thread about how our 3 rookie WRs/TEs had more yards than Nabers, but they have Nabers, Wandale and Johnson as three 23 (Coker is 23) and under receivers that I would take over ours, mainly because Nabers is a stud. Heck, Jones is absolutely the reason why we beat the Giants. A good QB and we lose easily. We’ve got some decent young guys, but we are missing a lot and let’s be honest our young guys can be good, but I am not sure I see above average yet, which is top 10 or 12 in the NFL.
  21. That’s not real tanking to ask the team and coaches to lose on purpose. Honestly, I don’t think you really can do that. Remember Doug Pederson getting fired? That was so ridiculously obvious that he put a trash QB in to lose on purpose to improve their draft pick. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it outside of that one game and it got the coach fired and that wasn’t players not trying. That was putting in a QB who had no business ever playing. You see real tanking in the NBA and MLB every year, although the NFL’s trade deadline is getting more active lately.
  22. Well, the “best” case scenario IMHO for the 2021 draft is pick 3 and trade it to the 49ers. I would have taken Parsons or Slater with the 2021 first (12). No idea who I would have taken in 2022 (Cole Strange was the pick) and 2023 (maybe Kincaid or Flowers). That would have been a nice haul if we had 1 more loss because the SOS would have moved us from 8 to 3.
  23. No and that’s part of the silliness in these discussions. Tanking has zero to do with coaches/players. Tanking has everything to do with the GM/front office. Here’s how I would have tanked in 2022: 1. Let Rhule tank the season with his greatness. 2. Trade CMC to SF. 3. Trade Burns to the Rams for that ridiculous haul. 4. Trade Moore to Packers for their 1st. 5. Trade whoever else we could that has value as a good vet and probably isn’t even on the team in 2025+. I tank by trading away the big time talent and piling up picks and cap space. I do this because I supposedly want to draft a QB high so I want my 2023 pick to be as high as possible.
  24. Horn is not an all pro, people in here overrate our players. He’s good to very good when he plays but until he actually gets named an all pro, he isn’t one like Sewell and Chase have been multiple times. We’d have a better team overall with either of these two. Sewell would be a LT for us, he was all through college and switched over for Decker. Yes, there are always great players all over the draft, it happens. My point was that we could be a vastly more talented team if we just lost one more game in 2019/2020. I probably should have put 2023 since I was referring to the draft dates in the other two but I was focusing more on the end of the year run than the 2023 draft I couldn’t really peg where we would have ended up. Too many variables.
  25. See my post above. We tankers get all the you aren’t a fan of you want to get a higher draft pick but damn we’ve given up generational talent because of some meaningless wins coupled with even worse drafting/trading of picks. The “real” fans can’t seem to get that we are two wins in 2019/2020 away from having Herbert throwing to Chase every week and still having CMC and Moore along with the picks we wasted on Corral, Darnold and Young. We’d be a solid playoff team even with Rhule and Fitterer.
