I still have wish we just left Rhule in place. The goal last year should have been get in the best spot to get a rookie QB and build around them. If we had just stated that goal internally and then executed every decision based on that we would have let Rhule get us to a top 3 pick, traded Burns for 2 1sts and pick 36, kept CMC for $10m a year (his “new” cost that wasn’t already baked in to dead cap) instead of a mid 2nd round value and kept Moore on a decent deal (considering sunk costs). Problem is we had a yes man/bad drafter at GM with no vision and we did none of those and here we are.

I agree with the firings but I think he’s honestly not fired people soon enough. Hurney didn’t need another year. Fitterer should have been gone with Rhule. TBH, I wish we let Rhule run the ship into the ground last year since we all knew it was QB in 2023 1st. We made a huge mistake with Wilks in that the 6-6 finish just made us lose Moore and more picks and might have made us lucky enough to be in position to get Stroud or Richardson with no trade up. You are right that the issue is a hiring one. No one we kept or hired was any good. That’s the long and short of it, Tepper has given us shitty GMs and coaches. The media is having a field day because they have their new Daniel Snyder to keep their tweets going. I love the “not that Reich wasn’t an issue” or “not that Reich did well” caveats before they explode down the OMG look at all the firings. I’d love to hear any of explain why Hurney, Rhule, Rivera, Reich or Fitterer should still be here. The firings were actually proper, but the hirings/not firings have been atrocious.

It makes me sad to think Fitterer is somehow still here. It’s also funny to see the people posting in this thread that were adamant that Fitt deserved a chance post Rhule and that he had done a good job. They were wrong again even if they’d never admit it. We said that either he’s a sucky GM or a yes man and it looks like we were right. It doesn’t really feel good to be right about all the moves we wanted our GM to make because our sucky one was given another chance post Rhule and has done virtually everything wrong and now we are the worst team around handicapped in the next two drafts.

SMH, you really can’t walk away when you are wrong. It’s getting pathetic. I’m not Sanjay, but for your mental health, feel free to call me that. I’ll be the bigger person and step away. Adios, forever. -Love Always, your friend Sanjay

Even if you agree with Tepper being a bad owner that’s made bad choices, you’ll never get these guys to not think Tepper was making every decision and overriding the poor football people who all made perfect decisions. I mean, Thomas Brown made the whole point guard analogy back in February in Panthers articles and clearly sold it to people, including Tepper so much that a bunch of people in here think Tepper came up with it. There is no gray in some of these posts, but hey I guess it’s easier to process things if you believe only black and white exist.

Adios means good bye, not will you reply again. When are you going to get that your replies aren’t going to make me Sanjay regardless of how much that would help you cope? Damn man, get a grip this is getting sad.

Lol. I actually did get banned once and this is a new username. It was actually for saying that this place was ridiculous for all the pop-up ads when another set of ads was making reading and posting impossible on a phone. I assume Igo got a bit upset that I called the site bad for all the ads and whacked me completely. @Toomers knows who I was before because it honestly wasn’t hard (I wanted to tank for Trevor) but sorry to burst your bubble, I’m not Sanjay and your amusing posts aren’t going to make it happen. Funny, because I do remember his love of TEs but you do like bringing him up. Adios for now!

Gotta suck to be a PSL holder right now. We aren’t going to be good next year or likely 2025. Too many things have to happen to even be competitive by 2026. Young has to vastly improve or we need to get lucky on a random pick at QB. We need to get really lucky on a new GM that has a couple of great drafts and get really lucky on a new coach. That’s a heck of a lot of luck to be competitive in 2026. No chance I’d be happy paying for that.

Typical reply and the Sanjay comment isn’t going to get to me. I don’t care that much, but it is fun when this is your only reply. One day, you might actually get to the objective level you think you are at posting all the news but Tepper has filled up that rent free spot in your mind where Rhule used to live. It’s really funny to think back to how happy you were on the all star coaching staff that’s gone 1-10.

Not to single you out, but this is the stuff that gets me here. So many opinions based on stuff that is just not true and has been posted in here before. It was said many times in here that one of the main reasons Reich was hired was because he already had his staff set when he came to the interviews. That was considered a plus that he had already done that. Do you now think Tepper picked his staff for him or do you believe the multiple reports that Frank was already prepared with his staff? Pretty sure Tabor and Campen were the only holdovers and it was pretty much universally lauded in here to keep those two.

Our offense’s best players were Moore and CMC, both gone before 2023 and both drafted by prior GMs (Hurney and Gettleman). Heck, our best OL was drafted by Gettleman too. It’s pretty scary how stripped our team is right now and without our 2024 1st and 2025 2nd, we don’t even have a full set of picks to get better. We need a new GM stat.

Greg Olsen says he is interested in Panthers HC Job
WhoKnows replied to usmcpanthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
It would be like our own Varsity Blues. It would at least be entertaining. -
Amazing how bad the Fitterer era was and is. I long for Gettleman, warts and all. Heck, I’d give Hurney another pass. Neither of them were good but damn, they were gods compared to Fitterer. Dude is always wrong and has 0 foresight.

What is rock bottom? We are the worst team in the league, coachless, our GM has stripped the team of talent, there’s a good chance our #1 overall QB is a bust, we haven’t extended Burns while edge rushers trade value dropped and we don’t own the currently #1 overall 2024 draft pick and we also don’t own our 2025 2nd rounder. When do we get to rock bottom? It sure as poo feels like rock bottom, especially since Tepper and Fitterer aren't going anywhere.

Agreed and all the Stroud talk didn’t occur until Frank’s seat was getting hot with all of the losses and Stroud was looking great. Remember this back in April: https://247sports.com/Article/2023-nfl-draft-panthers-coach-frank-reich-explains-bryce-young-over-cj-stroud-anthony-richardson-decision-209108992/amp/ All of the options were heralded recruits who starred at the college level for their respective teams, but only one showed out above the rest. "It wasn't much convincing," Reich said after Thursday night's selection, via theteam’s website. "You just watched the tape. There's a lot said about the size. At the end of the day, there are a lot of factors that go into it. But we're coaches, we're scouts. We watched the tape. And when you watch the tape, Bryce Young is the best player."

Lol. You can’t ever reply well when you lose an argument and won’t answer simple questions. The fact that you honestly think I’m Sanjay or are using it to act like you are correct is actually very amusing. Yet again, another discussion where you just don’t answer legitimate questions.

I was OK with the trade if we got a late first. We completely flubbed the trade. SF was a good team but got off to a bad start Fitterer, as usual, didn’t get that. He didn’t foresee the fact that CMC would make a huge difference for them and he did. Bam, all those picks went from early round to end of the rounds. The Rams offered us pick 36 (their second) for CMC. The total value of the picks we got was basically pick 43 and I bet we probably could have gotten the Rams 3rd too or maybe a 2024 day 2 pick. Same with Moore. We had pick 15 on the table from GB and we said we didn’t want to deal him and then he becomes a throw in on the Young trade. We didn’t bother taking or leveraging Burns’ trade offer. Based on the bounty, we could have traded Burns plus pick 9. The best move I can think of under Tepper/Hurney/Fitt is signing Reddick (a Rhule guy) for a big year while cheap. That’s all I can think of that was a great value and we decided we didn’t want to pay him after one year. Is it any wonder we are the worst team in the league?

RB Coach Duce Staley and QB Coach Josh McCown fired
WhoKnows replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really feel like you guys don’t remember the progress Chuba made last year. At the start of 2022, he had some fumbles and mistakes and by the end of 2022 he was considered a key cog. Most people wanted us to just resign Foreman and go with Chuba and Foreman in 2023. You don’t start the season as someone people want us to release to be someone we felt fine about as our future with Foreman if you didn’t get a lot better. In the 6-6 finish, we still had some games where we had trouble running the ball and in 4 games, Chuba caught 12 of 13 targets for 160 yards. He hasn’t come close to that this year outside of totals because he was barely used in the passing game until the last 8 games. He’s basically the same in 2023 as he was in 2022, which was a giant leap from 2021. The only difference is that his 2023 numbers are down a lot per carry/reception mostly due to the OL/playcalling. That said, the broad strokes that he’s much better in 2023 than 2022 doesn’t hold water IMHO. -

What agenda? I specifically didn’t say drops because the number of targets not caught was 3 and 4, negligible difference. Why is Chuba better this year? He took a big step forward from 2021 to 2022. He’s no different this year than last except that his ypc/ypr are down a lot. Again, how has Chuba improved and become better in 2023 over 2022? -
Lol, you can’t really answer any question I have so you resort to this. Sanjay was a complete buffoon. I never said Tepper was good (amazing you still can’t get that) but you go through so many hoops to back the guys you backed. Sorry you were wrong on Fitt deserving more time and you are wrong about Reich and luckily we will not have to worry about Reich. Just need to toss Fitt.

Perfect answer. How about posting where I’m wrong? What about 2023 has he done better than 2022? If you think Staley improves our running game, please point to where Chuba is better. Not hard. -
The friends of Frank (Eisen, especially) are really coming out loud as if we aren’t 1-10. We barely even won the one game we did. Sorry guys, Reich was doing a shitty job. Tepper is the owner but I know IDGAF how great Reich is as a person. He’s responsible for the team play and honestly we haven’t improved at all since the preseason play. That’s not a slow start that deserves more time.

Yes, watched them all unfortunately. What did I say that was wrong? Is he averaging more YPC this year or last year? Is his YPR better this year than last year? Sorry bud, the whole are you watching stuff goes out the window if it’s not true. Hubbard has not been the issue and the OL has gotten worse overall but maybe you didn’t watch last year or you are still clouded by the fact that you thought we had an all star coaching staff. -

Well, the Chark interview doesn’t make you feel like the locker room is united.
