  1. Im ok slapping the tag on him and seeing what happens. If we can trade him great, if not Im ok with him playing under the tag this upcoming season. Would way rather pay for Josh Allen at that price tho.
  2. I see us following the Jags strategy this offseason.
  3. Great post. I think a good HC can turn this place around very quickly. Despite how terrible this year was we have good pieces in place. Next year will be fine.
  4. Bad 1st round QB's get traded for high picks all the time. His trade value is still a 1st rounder. But we are not trading him.
  5. Im into owners throwing drinks at opposing fans no matter what was said.
  6. I mean.. us beating the Bucks with BY and causing them to not get into the playoffs would give 'winning the superbowl', vibes at this point.
  7. I actually dont disagree. Tepper has swung big but missed several times, but I appreciate that he has swung. People love revisionist history so I expect blow back for this but it was what it was at the time. 2020 - I liked that he hired Rhule who was a sought after College coach known for building teams rather than being a OC or DC guy. He hired Joe Brady who was an up and coming OC in college. Then brought in Teddy who looked good before he got hurt. At the time these were good and thought through decisions. 2021 - The team learned that Teddy was not the guy and saw another 1st round QB that was on a bad team that had top end potential in Darnold and traded for him. Maybe a bit too much but had Darnold played to his potential no one would have said anything. Draft wise, people keep pointing out we should have drafted Parsons but at the time the value of off the ball LB's was declining across the league and we had a need at CB. Horn was the best man to man corner in the draft. Our 2nd pick in Marshall was also widely regarded as a steal in the draft. Trading for Henderson was also a good trade IMO as he was the highest rated CB in his draft and played for one of the worst NFL HC's ever. Trading a 3 round pick for a top 5 drafted CB is good value. 2022 - Team brings in Baker. Another big swing at a high potential QB without having to use top draft picks at that position. 2023 - Tepper cleans house of the coaching staff and tell Fitt to get the best QB. We draft the top QB in the draft. The rest of the team, even the area's of strength regress significantly and we are where we are. All of that to say is that we have an owner that I can appreciate will make the moves to put us into better positions. UNFORTUNATLEY so far that moves have not worked out. But I would rather cheer for a team that swings and misses then one that never swings. Because the opposite it true. When we had Newton the biggest complaint was that we had generational talent on the team but RR and Co. were never was aggressive enough to get the final pieces. How many seasons did we say we just needed a better oline? Basically all of them. But rather than address it we didnt make moves. We wasted one of the best rosters the NFL had ever seen by sitting on our hands. Tepper wont let that happen. If we keep swinging, we will hit one.. eventually.
  8. I 100% agree that a team president makes sense.
  9. Jackson might be one of the most under appreciated players on the team (taking that roll from Shaq). That guy is a good player.
  10. I actually dont mind the firing. I think the right coach can change the direction pretty quickly, but we need the right team builder and as much as I would like to like Fitt, his record is not great. I dont mind the aggressiveness of Tepper taking swings at QB's (Teddy, Sam, Baker) QB's or being aggressive at drafting one, I just wish we would see some success from those swings. This becomes a critical offseason to right the ship.
  11. If I were GM Im throwing big money in FA at vet oline players. I dont want to gamble on the line. I want proven guys immediately.
  12. EVERYWHERE in the news it was Young #1. How many places had CJ #1? And before you go say 'I had him number #1'... well then maybe all those people should be working in the league and not just posting to an online forum... You guys exhaust me.
  13. This is why I like the idea of John H. coaching our team. He has a proven track record and doesnt need to prove anything to anyone. One of the few potential candidates that has his own brass balls to match Tepper.
  14. You guys love revisionist history.
  15. Yeah CJ always was talked about having good arm talent. But that doesnt change what people said about it being concerning that he only had 1 good college game last year. Its fair to see how they are performing in the NFL and saying that CJ is better. But its not fair to forget all the concerns people had about him going into the draft. That was what the pick was based on - not the current NFL results.
  16. I can own it. I wanted Bryce. The ONLY knock on Bryce was his size and he proved he can play at his size. Outside of that he elevated players around him and played very well for consecutive seasons. CJ had way more question marks. Being that he didnt have a great final season out side of 1 game and that he would not adjust well to the speed of the NFL game give his all pro WR's he played with. These were the facts coming into the draft. Young was the #1 on basically every media board. Us drafting him was not a reach or a stretch. If we had CJ right now the results would be the same but the discussion would be that he doesnt know what NFL open looks like and can only play with all stars around him. I hate that this board has turned into what is has. People here 100% forget or chose to revise history with what the draft talk was about.
  17. Was it?... that sure was not what all the talk was about back then. Also Cam had not been playing well in the previous 2 seasons.
  18. People forget things fast here... Horn vs Surtain was a 1a / 1b argument which basically came down to style. Horn's injuries are unlucky. Even when it was the Horn draft, people here WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED if we drafted a LB as the entire league was moving away from LB's being high draft picks. The 2022 LT discussion didnt include Cross at the top of the draft, it was Ickey vs Neal. I know a lot of people LOVE to rehash the draft as time goes on, but they need to remember the discussion at the time.
  19. People forget that Cam wanted a new big contract and had not been playing well in the previous seasons. The common feeling here at the time was that he was not worth the money. People wanted him to play out the final year of his contract and he didnt want to.
  20. I mean in Madden I can completely change schemes and it doesn't impact my players performance... maybe thats what they assumed.....
  21. As a land developer 'sprawl' is a mixed word. Sprawl is usually referred in a negative way as it insinuates things being spread out and being ineffective. But I would argue that most citys that are not land locked against a mountain or ocean need to accept sprawl because people dont want to build up. A land planners wet dream would be to have an entire city only take up 1 square mile and be 1 mile in elevation but thats not the reality for most cities in North America.
