  1. Can’t comment on Facebook but the tweet is the original post about this, roughly a month ago. It then made its rounds on Reddit through the Panthers sub and the NFL sub. When it hit the NFL sub it was shared here. That covers 3/4 of those social sites and I doubt anyone wanting to have a serious conversation about things is going to reference Facebook. Moving onto the statement DJ Moore is a middle of the road WR because 1200 yards is good enough to be 10-15 most years in the NFL. 32 teams, 64 starting WRs, being 12-15th is absolutely not middle of the road. That’s in the top 1/3. Middle of the road is your average player. He’s way beyond that. Now if you want to include tight ends in this as “pass catchers” you have 32 tight ends starting in the NFL so now we are grading 96 players and he’s still in that top 10-15 range, right? Being in the top 10-15% of the pass catchers in the NFL isnt middle of the road. It’s fantastic. It’s great. It’s borderline elite. I wouldn’t put him into elite company yet because I need to see him with better QB play but if DJ Moore is a guy you’re going to get 1200 yards out of every year going forward then he is an elite player. It’s only been two seasons in a row and he’s young so in need to see it for longer but I don’t agree one bit that this stat helps to serve your agenda that he is a middle of the road WR.
  2. He’s just being dramatic. Leave it to Panther fans to finally have something nice at WR and still look for reasons to downplay it.
  3. I was the one who originally posted this thread forever ago when this tweet came out. Not sure where it’s being “parroted” around but I’m pretty confident I didn’t embellish the stat. And it was about WR getting 1200+ yards from scrimmage two years in a row. WR specifically. Not sure what OP is on about. edit: here is the thread Also don’t know where OP got this has been going around for months now when the Tweet is just one month old.
  4. I’m not as high on Slater either but I feel like if we pass on him he’s getting picked quickly and if we drop too far down we are going to get no elite TE, no elite LT, no good LT, no elite QB, etc. At some point even if it’s above slot value you got to take your pick at one of the top players in the draft. I think 8 is the perfect spot to be in.
  5. He was part of our group of lineman that had to play under some very weird team circumstances. I’d like to forget the Franks years as a whole. He improved every year and I was surprised he wasn’t drafted in the later rounds when he was eligible. He was one of the few pieces on the line we could rely on. Look up what QBs he blocked for and it’s embarrassing for a top school who we were running out there. He will be a camp body to start but I wouldn’t be shocked if he found a way to become a solid backup for us. The talent is there for him to go far it’s a matter of building on fundamentals with him and having consistency. The biggest issue for him and the others on the line those years was that we were throwing out QB after QB and the offense had to change for each one. Harris and Grier didn’t run the same offense. Apple and Del Rio didn’t run the same offense. Franks and Trask were close enough but Jones runs a different offense. You aren’t doing your offensive lineman any favors by changing your offense every 3-4 drives. This is cheap upside.
  6. Darnold will win more games as a Panther than Teddy.
  7. Nothing wrong with rooting for the guy we have until he’s shown he can’t be the guy. I get it.
  8. I still think Fields goes to San Fran and the Mac Jones at 3 stuff is a smokescreen
  9. I think whoever the 49ers draft is set up for success. I think the Jags, Jets, Broncos, WFT, Panthers potential QB draftees are going to have to work harder and have the ball bounce their way a little more to become dominant.
  10. I agree with this opinion. And a part of me thinks that around year 3-4 he might be the best QB in this class regardless. Just not drafted first.
  11. I’m with you 100%. If he’s on the board we take him. A lot of teams make poor calls when drafting a QB. We don’t need to overthink this.
  12. You can watch any QBs highlights and think they look good. This is not a good way to determine how good a player is.
  13. You’re being overly dramatic. This place has many posts every day where people debate and argue with one another over difference of opinion. Let’s also not make blanket statements as not all difference of opinions are the same. Just because it’s a different thought process doesn’t mean it should be shared, nor does it mean the mods should allow it depending on what that opinion is. They don’t like QBs X, Y and Z and list their reasons? That’s fine. They don’t like a QB because of the color of his skin? Not ok. Attempting to bash “athletic” QB, while specifically mentioning only black ones is pretty close if not a little over the line considering I’d say Mahomes, Rodgers, Wilson, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson has been pretty successful the past couple years and some of them even longer and they all run. It does come across as a dog whistle. Im sure you can understand how some opinions need to be removed from this pace. And I agree with @LinvilleGorge, I personally wish this place didn’t have the Tinderbox but I just do my best to avoid it. People here are more intelligent when it comes to sports opinions than they are on their opinions of race, gender, politics, etc. It takes away from this place. It doesn’t add to it.
  14. Are you related to the man?
  15. It’s hard to bench a guy who got you so many wins. To me, Dabo and Saban are the only two coaches who make moves like that to win.
  16. Yeah I like most of your mock. I just happened to notice the Oregon guys trend but non of them are bad players nor do you have them at bad spots.
  17. This stance is exactly what I’d hope for. If we can’t get a QB in round 1 we shouldn’t reach on these guys during day 2. If any are left after that then pull the trigger and hope one turns out ok. I still believe we get a QB in round 1 as of now though.
  18. Not that I disagree because I agree on most prospects… my concern with him is that he’s started so many games for a top school and he’s worked with some good coaches at his level that he shouldn’t be anywhere near as inconsistent as he is. From a consistency standpoint coming into the NFL he’s far behind the other QBs and likely needs even more time to get his fixes in before he can worry about other things.
  19. Their running back was like 5th in the SEC in total yards, wasn’t he? Texas AM as a team averaged 5.5 yards per carry in the SEC. That was the best. They were also third in rushing touchdowns. They were 9th in the SEC is passing yards per game. 2nd in rushing yards per game. Their offensive line only gave up 7 sacks all year. The next closest was 16 sacks given up. Basically their offensive line dominated all year and their run game, efficiency-wise was the best in the conference at 5.5 a clip. They leaned heavily on their run game and ran more than they threw. Not sure where your saw they passed more.
  20. Very Oregon heavy draft. Love the 222 pick.
