Not a fan of this trade, but maybe the front office knows the panthers are not going to be competitive this year so they just wanted to get rid of an older very talented wr. If young does terrible this year its a built in excuse now, he can just say well they traded my top wr right before the season.

This is what I hate about sports reporters all offseason non stop how great he looks and how he is going to be awesome, then he barely plays preseason, people saying they saving him for regular season, turns out nope he just wasnt doing very well .

Hooker has looked horrific , like worse than bryces worse games .

Kyle Allen has been having some good preseasons lately. Alot of steeler fans wanted him to start some games for them last year and he won the number 2 job for the lions this year.

Had to look him up but seems to have potential. Really is by sucks it up panthers should just bring in rando qbs to finish the year see if they hit on any and if not draft some for next year.

As a florida grad i have hope for kyle trask. As a 3rd qb he offers alot of upside. Hopefully panthers wouldnt need him but if by sucks it up wouldnt hurt to have him on the roster i also think baily zappe would be a really good third for us. I believe trask has more upside he did well in preseason this year.

Kinda depends how you look at it both were 3rd round draft pics. Nico was nothing before stroud and tank came in with stroud. If both were on the panthers would young have them doing well and starting or would their stats be low. I really dont know the answer to that. None of the panthers wrs have left and did well either but personally i feel neither of nico or tank would do much on the panthers.

Stroud makes alot of there players better. Look at there wr stats before and after stroud. That draft pic alone changed their entire team crazy to look at the before and after stroud texans.

I hope they keep at . He has been a solid well above average wr for the panthers and if he is traded and byoung sucks this year will be an excuze everyone uses saying well he would have done well but they traded their best wr

If they trade theilen at least send him to a team that really needs him like the 49ers or the chiefs so he can rack up some yardage. Doesnt make sense to trade him unless they basically are saying they cant compete this year.

you know who has had a pretty awesome preseason has been ex panthers qb kyle allen, would be total panthers for the lions to end up having to play him due to injury and him lighting it up for them all year.

Anyone that was a uf gators fan knew Anthony Richardson was going to fail. Super athletic and talented. Terrible accuracy, makes terrible decisions, but every once in a blue moon will make a jaw dropping play. With all that said , B Young hopefully does well this year but may be joining him soon.

I say it all the time its not the number of calls or penalty yards its the calls that are called at the perfect time that directly effect the game. I would love someone unbiased to just watch nfl games and keep track of calls that directly impact games and keep that as a stat and see how it shakes out across the league i would think certain teams woild benefit alot more than others.

All good for him but if he doesnt improve and do really well this may be a funny album cover of the nfl wr that failed out

U are right byoung did play better but before he was horrific so any improvement was huge. Still crazy lookongat the rookie qbs last year and everyone of the had single games arguably better than young has ever had.

I rarely ever see a negative article or post from practice, but I have always wondered if the reporters who watch the practices all the time can tell if the panthers are going to be anygood or if a player is going to be good from watching the practices.

Jayden daniela had a grear rookie seasom but needs at least another year to be that high. Sam darnald seems really low but this does bring too light there are alot of teams with terrible qbs

I was wrong on Samuel I expected him to leave the pantehrs and be a probowler but didnt do much with buffalo or wash. Not sure if injuries hit him or if he just wasnt that good. I remember some stat about him always getting the most seperation but who knows .

We had the better ranked oline, we had a way better rb, they had a way better TE, and qb, WRs really dependent on opinions i could see how most would go 49ers. To say they had way better everything is just wrong though.

about half the people posting on this thread have said Purdy is a journeyman below average qb at best. It is interesting how many panther fans are 49er fans also guessing b/c of Cmac. But really right now all this conversation is pointless but at the end of the year someone needs to remember to bring this thread back up so we can see how Purdy did and how deebo did on a new team and we can continue the discussion.

a healthy aiyuc would start over theilen, but jennings hasnt shown much he was forced to be the starter the majority of the year last year with a horrible defense and never eclipsed 100yards in a game. When theilen was healthy he outproduced jennings on a per game basis with worse qb play. Like I said all opinions but I havnt seen anything out of him to say he is anything more than a third wr, maybe a 2nd if the other options are bad. his career stats pretty much support that he has never been anywhere near ATs better years.

Kittle would start Juan jennings is a 27 year old 7th round pic whose best season up until last year was 35 catches 416 yards he only started due to all the injuries, deebo is washed up was overweight slow and just bad last year injured a ton. Aiyuk did play in 7 games mostly injured and was a shell of himself caught 25 passes for 374 yards over those entire 7 games normally that would be his stat line over 3 games. Pearsall returned from being shot but a first round pic and believe will be a good wr. If I were buildign a team from the two teams of healthy players that played mostly last year. I took out aiyuk b/c he was a shell of himself. and Deebo is terrible but just my opinion and will see how he does with the redskins. RB Chubba Hubbard TE Kittle WR Thielen, Pearsal, Legette/Coker This is all opinion based and we will see how Purdy does this year but to say the 49ers had an all start team last year is a huge exaggeration.

Not sure why people work so hard to try and say Purdy is terrible. He seems like a really likable hard working QB. To put things into perspective look at the panthers all time leading passing stats vs purdys So Purdy has played very few games and his down year would be 4 or 5 all time for the panthers and his best year would be 2nd all time for the panthers. Not sure why anyone would think paying this qb who is still growing in the game 7th overall for this year which will most likely fall to 14 or 15th overall next year is a bad move. He had no one last year and still put up good numbers the panthers arguably had better skill players than the 49ers did healthy last year. panthers had better healthy rb, wr were close to equal slight edge to panthers, and the 49ers had way better te play.

I agree 100% people keep talking about how loaded their team was but the star guys are almost always injured and last yearpurdy had no one at all and still put up good numbers. As a panther fan i would be thrilled for purdys worse season wish more people would actually look at his stats u could argue his worse season is better than all but 1 or 2 cam seasons for the panthers. It will be interesting to see how some players do away from purdy i believe he actually makes alot of them better. But all moot if they make the playoffs again this year the contract was worth it
