The lines are never good enough. That has to be the mentality. LT is one of the most expensive positions on the team. Take an LT in the draft if he’s legit BPA. Ickey is coming up due to get PAID, regardless of how this next season pans out. You hope he becomes the pass blocker the team needs, but what if he’s not. He is not going to want anything other than franchise LT money. I agree with swinging him to RT, but can this team afford to pay a RT LT money? Now, if they go LT in round 1 who is the clear successor, deal Ickey and have another LT on the cheap for the next 5 years. Use that $ to pick up a premium pass rusher

Panthers Blueprint: Offensive Line
Gapanthersfan replied to Candler Cat's topic in Carolina Panthers
When in doubt, pick a lineman from UGA or Bama. At worst, you’ve added quality depth. -
And that’s just it, literally NOBODY was talking about Cam in the media when he came out and said what he said. There was no need to remind everyone of his personal greatness and double down by calling his teammates losers. Why feel the need to knock others to elevate yourself? I don’t think Cam knows what to do without the limelight and attention, be it positive or negative. He is confirming, and even admitting to the negative personality traits that he has been accused of. Whatever slim chance he may of had at Canton is pretty much dead now. The respect of his teammates, he just shot to all hell, so the MVP award that he holds in highest regard may be all he’s got left.
-
And even if they were ass, you still never say that. That team delivered his ass his 2015 MVP. To take what he said and purposely distort and obfuscate it in to a ‘here’s what he meant to say’ is 100% dishonest and gas lighting down to the core. He meant exactly what he said. If his media popularity is worth more to him than the love and respect of his teammates who played their guts out for him Damn bro, no body wants to know that side of you truly does exist.

When in doubt of who to draft, take a lineman from UGA or Alabama. At worst you’re getting serviceable depth. It’s almost always a sure thing.

I’m glad someone said it. He’s a Russell Wilson, except Wilson came across less arrogant. He’s nothing more, nothing less. Really good QB. Going to the HOF. GOAT chaser? Yeah, no. Even prime Rogers >>> than Mahomes. comparing him to the true goat? That’s a laugher. Brady is in the argument for the most clutch athlete of all time.

So yeah, priority has to be to get Bryce more weapons, of course, right? It’s all about defense. Always has been, always will be. I hope Tep is paying attention tonight.

Everyone Pushing to Draft Yet Another WR Early
Gapanthersfan replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team closed the season out with a 40 burger in our biggest rival’s house in a game that did matter to them. They were able to keep pace with the chiefs and eagles. Why everyone has such an obsession with having our own Justin Jefferson I’ll never know. -
Anyone left who does not believe in Bryce ?
Gapanthersfan replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
Homeboy finished the season in our arch rival’s house… the place that he was straight embarrassed to start his NFL career… the place where the panthers invent a new way to lose each time… kryptonite central… and dropped a 40 burger on them, while Leading the game winning drive in OT. I’m on record as one of the biggest Bryce doubters around, but damn. The clutch throw after throw after throw… It glitters, but it’s so hard to feel like this team finally has something nice. Is this gold? The 3rd and 4th down conversions he has dropped dimes on lately feel so uncomfortable, because I’m so conditioned to the QB, WR or both f-ing it up and we gotta punt. 3rd and 8? 4th and 5? Guaranteed punt… but they haven’t been…. Against the 2 teams that are about to play in the SB. It’s weird. Really weird. It feels flukey, but they keep happening. 44 in the kryptonite dome leading an OT drive FTW that handed the bird a losing season… Im firmly on the wagon until proven otherwise, and that feels almost nauseating to admit. -
Cam Newton wouldn't trade MVP Award for Super Bowl Ring
Gapanthersfan replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
What gets me… this was not some surprise question. He had time to think and come up with his response ahead of time…. And this was it. It could have been, ‘to see TD hoist that trophy high with a broken arm? Damn right I would.’ So either that didn’t occur to him, which is bad… or it did, but he chose the individual accolade over his teammates winning the highest distinction in the NFL.. and that’s just awful. The question was obviously designed to bait him and they knew he would respond in kind. Pretty sad all around. Without Cam 2015 doesn’t happen, sure…. But how about Luke calling out offenses? How about Greg keeping everything straight in the huddle? TD bringing the thunder. MVPs don’t go to dudes on losing teams. Without those 3, the panthers would have been a long shot to make the playoffs, and Cam never gets his MVP. MVP doesn’t just happen in a vacuum. It’s a team accomplishment that honors an individual player. -
In early rounds. Because they enjoy out dumbing themselves.
-
When in doubt, just draft a UGA player.

Cam Newton wouldn't trade MVP Award for Super Bowl Ring
Gapanthersfan replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Cam wins a SB ring, then it means that 58,59, 88… and all the other players who played their guts out that season do as well. Luke would be a lock 1st ballot HOFer with a SB win. It’s the only missing piece in his career. TD’s story capped off with a SB ring? The jump on the ball argument is dead, so this isn’t about that to me. This is about ‘would you rather take your MVP or have all your teammates flaunt a SB ring?’ I like Cam, but I’m a panthers fan. I’ve tried to find a way to understand what he said that doesn’t disrespect his team, but I’m sorry, I can’t. Defend him, say it’s click bait, whatever… I like you, but poor form on that one, Cam. -
Luvu / Chinn….. why did we let them go again?
Gapanthersfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We can’t have nice things. -
[PNP] Interview with Carolina Panthers WR Jalen Coker
Gapanthersfan replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pause it at 21:21 to see why he hand catches everything…. Look at the size of his mits. Rashad’s hands (which are probably normal man sized) are dwarfed in comparison. -
[PNP] Interview with Carolina Panthers WR Jalen Coker
Gapanthersfan replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
There’s a BIG difference in a guy who can play WR vs a guy who IS a WR. Panthers are great at getting guys who can. This is a treat fans don’t get very frequently. -
[PNP] Interview with Carolina Panthers WR Jalen Coker
Gapanthersfan replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Anquan Boldin, son. A reach, sure, but this dude is the truth. He’s our first pure WR prospect since…. When? You watch his game and it’s just so smooth. As a Panthers fan, I’m conditioned to expect drops in crucial moments. He makes me feel uncomfortable in the fact that he catches every stinking ball. If he caught 8 TDs and 800 yards next year… it would be sweet, but would surprise no one who has payed attention. -
We Haven't Drafted a Defensive Player in R1 Since 2021.
Gapanthersfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
And they lucked their way in to Smith. He was a 3rd round punt returner -
Would You Trade Draft Capital for a #1 WR???
Gapanthersfan replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
The goal is to win football games. Lacking a true #1 receiver is not why this team lost, and it’s not even close. Defense still does win championships -
When keeping it real goes terribly wrong
-
This season could have been COMPLETELY different if they had hit on a legit pass rusher to pair up with Clowney.

BC sounding like he's gonna go get his bag
Gapanthersfan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
These guys base their career on their second contract. It’s what sets them up for life. Brady is a very good talent who is as versatile as it gets. He’s about to make some good coin, and for the years he has had to endure here, good on him. -
We have to be getting a new NT right?
Gapanthersfan replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
If they went DE in rounds 1 AND 2, I’ll wear my 2003 Morgan jersey EVERY game next year. Hell, I’ll even wear it at work on draft day. -
Impact Rookies in Playoffs (Beyond Round 1)
Gapanthersfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
And that exactly demonstrates how vitally important slamming your first round pick is. Even with the lackluster later round record, the team almost always had enough talent to be competitive. He picked Kuechley when they already had Beason and Davis. It’s all about BPA. In the first, you look for who is most likely to be an all pro, and you pick that guy. At worst, you may have improved a position of strength with younger and cheaper talent. -
Impact Rookies in Playoffs (Beyond Round 1)
Gapanthersfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team has been allergic to the obvious pick since Hurney left.
