  1. I don't think it was smart, but it's still not a long-term commitment. It was less of a commitment than we made to Teddy.
  2. Nope. Simply responding to a post suggesting we trade next year's 1st and our '23 2nd for an OT. Kinda a statement of reality. We'd be fresh out of trade bait and premium picks to acquire a QB via the draft. I don't think anyone in the Panthers organization is 100% sold on Darnold being the answer. If they were, they'd be trying to ink him a long-term extension right now while his value is low.
  3. My Eagles fan buddy speaks about him about like we did of Greg Little.
  4. I actually wanted Whitworth. But the difference was that he was a FA.
  5. Then if Darnold flops and we watch some other team take a highly rated QB prospect with that pick... oh wee mayne. Fitts and Rhule would truly be all in on Darnold at that point. If Darnold flops, they would have written their own obituary.
  6. A 35 year old OT feels like the definition of a bandaid.
  7. I'd be surprised if the extension talks aren't DJ Moore. Please no bandaid trades. Only make a trade if it's for a player who is in the long-term plans.
  8. I think part of it is that Rhule knows that the WRs have to shine. Like you said, they're a strength of the offense. They can't afford to have off days. We don't have a QB anymore who can carry the entire offense when need be.
  9. All good. Quick round of antibiotics took care of it. Thanks!
  10. I hope he does well but I'm glad we moved on.
  11. Or someone plucks Fitterer from us because he's probably stealable since he doesn't have final roster say
  12. I have a lot more confidence in our WRs than I do in Sam Darnold. They may have had a rough day as a unit, but Moore and Anderson are proven NFL commodities. Marshall is a talented rookie. Smith is a promising rookie. If Darnold doesn't deliver this season, I highly doubt it'll be because of our WR corps.
  13. I like Samuel but I don't think paying your 4th offensive weapon big money is a smart plan. Those are the roster positions that you have to continually churn and keep low cap impact.
  14. Don't let facts get in the way of his politically and emotionally invested (idiotic) opinions.
  15. We out all our QB eggs in the Darnold basket. We'll see how it works out. Let's just say that I'll be paying close attention to the college QB prospects. Hearing about struggles while wearing a red jersey isn't encouraging. Highly doubtful it gets any better once he's getting hit behind a likely below average OL.
  16. As opposed to faith that we will simply improve overnight as if by magic? That's the rational thought process?
  17. Okay. We shall see. I'm sure we're just intentionally sandbagging. They'll never see us coming once the games start counting for real. *evil villain laugh*
  18. The comparisons to highly successful organizations is baffling. I don't know where this confidence comes from.
  19. From the reports, this isn't going so well. Based on our joint practices with likely playoff teams, it sounds like we have a long ways to go to compete with playoff caliber teams. That's disappointing, but honestly it's also expected.
  20. We'll see. I still expect the D overall to be improved vs. last year. Everyone is panicking about the LB situation but it's no worse than last year. The DL will be improved. The secondary has considerably more talent. If the D isn't better overall, that's going to be a serious concern.
  21. The D is going to go as far as our DL will carry it. There's more talent in the secondary now, but they're still very inexperienced.
  22. I like Zach Bryan a lot. Another one coming up is Tanner Usrey.
  23. I don't see him being released either, but OL and LB are the two position groups that I'm virtually certain that there will be guys on our final roster that aren't currently on the roster.
