I wouldn't call him a swing and a miss just yet. If he's still struggling to get meaningful snaps in camp next year, then it's time to panic that we may have wasted a quality draft pick.
-
Allen is the most stunning NFL success story I may have ever seen. It's difficult to overstate just how raw and inaccurate he was as a passer in college. The development he's made as a passer is nothing short of stunning.
-
I think Chris Weinke was starting to get AARP mailers when we drafted him.
-
I wanted Fields too. But here's the thing. Flip the script and have Zach Wilson available at #8 and he absolutely would've been the pick. At the end of the day, all we really know for sure about the Panthers' opinion of Justin Fields is that they ranked him below Jaycee Horn.

That extra physical and mental/emotional maturity vs. their peers in college matters. If they had a higher talent level, they would've probably already entered the draft and they might not have the talent level you saw on film once they're facing guys with a similar level of physical and mental)emotional maturity that comes with age.

Who knows? He may just be a guy who is really coachable and busts his ass and Rhule really likes him for that. As for not being really big or really fast, plenty of really good NFL receivers have lacked prototypical type measurables. I honestly doubt this guy is anything more than a coach's favorite for previously mentioned reasons but we'll see.

Honestly, Cam (nor Jake) never really looked great in camp or preseason, but when it actually mattered they performed. All I'm saying is the people getting giddy about Wilson evidently struggling right now might be jumping the gun just a tad.
-
That comment wasn't about Brady.
-
Just a reminder, but Cam's camp and preseason performance as a rookie was so underwhelming that many of us were taking about possibly needing to start Clausen for a bit more while Cam acclimated to the NFL game. The rest is history. Might be a tad too early to start celebrating Wilson as a bust we were spared from. As for Christensen, let's just hope he needs some seasoning and time to adjust to the NFL level.

Sure, I'd talk to him about a DC job. HC? GTFO. Not interested.

Those guys could've been HOFers and Ron would've still played his vets. -
Carolina Panthers Training Camp - Monday Thread

Until I saw it was posted by the official Panthers account, I just assumed it was taken from a quarter mile away through a hedgerow like most other shots we've seen emerge from camp. -
The sad thing is that they probably can. Hard to get an 84 month note on wheels and a lift unless it's coming from the dealership. People are dumb.

Christian McCaffrey - Back to Pre-Injury Form?
LinvilleGorge replied to Greatman77's topic in Carolina Panthers
We have a rookie who needs the snaps a lot more right now. We know what we have in CMC and we'll let him get his feet wet in the preseason. I hope we'll let Hubbard ease up the burden of his workload a little, but I expect him to be getting a ton of work when the games start counting. -

Just seems like Christensen isn't ready. Not panic time, but disappointing for a 24 year old rookie who played so well in college. -

Light work in training camp? Yeah he should. RBs have a short enough shelf life as it is. -

If we're smart he's getting light work anyway. -
Completely fuging embarrassing. No clue how Ron got another HC gig.

My wife went to CofC. I miss the days of pregaming for 25 cents Simpsons drafts with $6 Sam Adams pitchers at Cumberlands. You could leave that place dee-runk for $15 including tip. Good times. -

If you like really good food in really laid back environments with no pretense what so ever, go to Nigel's Good Food in North Charleston. You'll get the type of food you'd pay huge money for in a downtown "name" restaurant in stupid quantities for Applebee's prices. It's the only reason to ever go to North Charleston other than the airport. -

Might be the best use of a decently skilled but seemingly fragile player. -
He weighed 350 at the Senior Bowl. There are very few 350 pound NFL OL and probably none of them are under 6'2" like Moore.
-
sizzle is gonna be devastated that a player flexed and got what he wanted
-
Maybe he wasn't learning the playbook? Maybe he just showed he didn't have the ability? All I know is that if you're getting cut as an OL by the Panthers right now, that gives a very poor outlook for your professional football career.

Well, that's sucks. But at the end of the day, every UDFA is a long shot.
